Wendy Williams is breaking her silence.
After leaving her iconic purple chair at The Wendy Williams Show in 2021, the beloved daytime diva, 60, was sadly diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and put under a guardianship in 2022.
On Thursday, January 16, Williams and her niece Alex Finnie appeared on "The Breakfast Club" podcast, where they gave insight into the heartbreaking reality of her conservatorship, her mental state and what she thinks about Sean "Diddy" Combs' arrest.

Williams Feels Like She's in a 'Prison'
The television star is currently residing at a care facility with elderly people in New York. "I feel like I'm in prison," she explained of the situation."I'm in this place where the people are in their 90s, or their 80s or 70s," Williams pointed out. "Even when people are 60 just like me, I'm s— and gorgeous!"
Williams Watched the Controversial Lifetime Documentary With Her Guardian Sabrina Morrissey
Williams explained she viewed the 2024 Lifetime documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? with her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, who sued the network after she claimed they highlighted the New Jersey native's "vulnerable state." A&E and Lifetime later countersued, alleging "guardianship abuse.""We watched that four-part thing on TV together," she revealed. "She was the one who wanted to do that. I'm watching and writing things down. She's watching and writing things down. I saw all of that."
Williams Insists She Is Not 'Cognitively Impaired'
The mother-of-one made it clear she is not in a dire mental state despite her May 2023 dementia diagnosis.
"I am not cognitively impaired," Williams, who was speaking in full sentences during the interview, stated.
Williams Says She Cannot Leave the Care Facility on Her Own Free Will
According to the funny lady, family members and loved ones are not always permitted to see her — and she's not allowed to leave unless her guardian lets her. She also alleged she's given "pills" by staffers daily.
"The last three years, I have been caught up in this system," she added. "This system is broken. This system has falsified a lot."
Williams Stays Alone in Her Room All Day Long
According to Finnie, her aunt's living conditions don't do anything to advance her mental state."She can call us. We can't call her. This has been the reality since 2023," the Miami newscaster said. "That room that she's sitting in, she's there every day, all hours of the day. Every week, every month. She's not getting proper sunlight."
Security Claimed Williams Wasn't at the Facility
Prior to their interview, "The Breakfast Club" co-host Lauren LaRosa tried to pay Williams a visit. However, the people at the front desk and the security team allegedly tried to bar her from seeing the star."When I got there, the people at the front were very aware that Wendy was there," she explained. "They had to call Sabrina to see if I could even go up there even though Wendy was on the phone with me when I arrived."
Things took a turn when a group of men approached LaRosa and asked her, "'Who are you? What are you here for?'"
When she told them she was there to see Williams, they told her, "We don't have anyone here by that name."
Williams Spent Her Last Three Birthdays Alone
The Wendy Williams Experience author emphasized how the difficulties of visitation have contributed to her loneliness."For the last three years, I have spent my birthday by myself," she said. "I would rather spend my birthday by myself than open the door and spend my birthday with these people on this floor."
Williams Calls Her Divorce From Kevin Hunter Sr. 'Fabulous'
On a positive note, Williams is still grateful for her 2019 split from her former husband Kevin Hunter Sr."To get divorced, as far as I'm concerned, was a one-hundred percent fabulous thing," she said. "I've gotten a divorce like nobody else has gotten a divorce and I don't want to talk about it."
Williams Wants to Live Her 'Life With Dignity'
According to her niece, the former disc jockey wants people to know she's keeping her head up high despite the circumstances."Whatever we have to do to make sure my aunt is in a place where she's living her life with dignity," Finnie said when asked about what fans could do to help and what their goal is.
Williams Claims She's Broke
In 2022, Wells Fargo froze Williams' bank accounts and filed a petition for temporary financial guardianship.
"I have $15," Williams alleged. "What does that do? My money is in prison."
Williams Is Trying to See Her Father on His Birthday
The media personality admitted she's missed many of her dad's Dr. Thomas Williams' big milestones in recent years as he is well into his 90s."I don't know whether I'm allowed to fly to Miami to say happy birthday to my dad," she alleged.
Williams Says Her Life Is 'F—–' Up
In a heart shattering moment during the chat, Williams began to sob about all of the turmoil she's experienced."My life is f—– up," she said as she wept to Finnie and the panel.
Williams Commented on Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Legal Woes
After Combs was arrested in September 2024 on charges of alleged s– trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution, Williams touched on what she thought of the situation."Diddy will go to prison for life, people. You don't know the things that I know about Diddy back in the day," she claimed. "Diddy is done."
