Decades after ending their 13-year-long occasionally messy and extremely high-profile romance, Elizabeth Hurley and Hugh Grant remain close friends. And while they've both discussed their friendship with interviewers over the years, Liz recently revealed what could be the secret to their long-lasting platonic bond. "I'm still extremely good friends with Hugh," the actress and model, 55, said on the latest edition of the "People in the '90s" podcast. "You know, we went through so much together. But I've been thinking, one of the most important things to keep good relations with your exes is to have a lot of respect for their current life," she mused. "We haven't been romantically involved for 20 years, I think, even though we have such a strong friendship. But we're always very aware that there are other people in our lives," she continued. "There's partners, there's children. You can't just, sort of, live in a lovely, rosy mist of the past. You have to move with the times and be very respectful of the present, which we are." According to People, the pair met in 1987 and soon began dating. They stayed together through a scandal after Hugh, now 60, was arrested on Sunset Boulevard after being caught with a sex worker in 1995, but eventually called it quits in 2000. Liz went on to have a son, Damian, with Steve Bing before marrying and later divorcing Arun Nayar. Hugh, who is Damian Hurley's godfather, married for the first time in 2018, tying the knot with his longtime partner Anna Eberstein, with whom he shares a son and two daughters. He and Tinglan Hong also have a daughter and a son.

Five months after leaked audio revealed Tom Cruise unleashing a screaming rant at crew members on the set of "Mission: Impossible 7" over broken COVID-19 safety protocols, the star was reportedly exposed to the virus on the set of the upcoming film. British outlet The Sun claims Tom was shooting a scene set in a nightclub with four dancers and 10 crew members, all of whom later tested positive for the coronavirus. The dancers, who were reportedly dancing "within a couple of meters" of Tom, appear to have tested positive first, followed by the crew members. The shoot is now on hold while everyone, including Tom, self-isolates, according to the outlet's sources, one of whom noted that the film could now face yet another delay in making its way to screens. In the controversial audio clip that leaked in December, Tom threatened to fire anyone who failed to comply with the protocols. He also warned the crew that if production on the film shuts down, it could mean bad news for the whole industry, given how much work (and money) was already being lost during the pandemic. Though he screamed that people could "lose their … homes" as a result of one unnecessary slip-up with safety, it was an argument some of Tom's peers later publicly supported him on.

Chris Harrison won't host 'Bachelor in Paradise;' David Spade, more comic to fill in

After facing backlash over racially insensitive comments he made during an interview in February, longtime Bachelor Nation host Chris Harrison will not return for "Bachelor in Paradise" this summer, Variety reported on June 2. Instead, sources say, "celebrity comedians" will handle hosting duties. As of June 3, David Spade was the only comic confirmed to be on the host roster, although negotiations are reportedly in the works with others. Chris is not expected to be involved with either of the next two seasons of "The Bachelorette," either. (ABC announced earlier this year that Katie Thurston's season, which premieres June 7, will be hosted by Bachelor Nation alums Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe.) Chris, who began hosting "The Bachelor" at the beginning of the franchise back in 2002, was widely condemned during Matt James' season of "The Bachelor" for defending Rachael Kirkconnell after resurfaced social media posts showed her attending an "antebellum themed plantation ball," dressing up as a Native American woman and liking posts that featured the Confederate flag and QAnon conspiracy theories. Rachael had been given the final rose by Matt, the franchise's first Black Bachelor, but he didn't propose. (We later learned they'd split and Matt expressed concern that she'd never understand his experience of life as a Black man in America, despite her apology for the posts. The two have since gotten back together.) Chris, meanwhile, responded to the backlash over his comments about Rachael by temporarily giving up his host role. At the time, he apologized for what he'd said and vowed to become "educated on a more profound and productive level than ever before" about racism in America. He has since publicly expressed his interest in returning to the show. Variety's sources believe the soonest he would return would be the January 2022 season of "The Bachelor." There has been no comment on Chris' future or David Spade's involvement, as of yet, from ABC or Warner Bros. TV.

The Cannes Film Festival kicks off in France on July 6 with a special tribute to Jodie Foster, whose work has been featured at Cannes seven times over the years, beginning with "Taxi Driver" in 1976 when Jodie was just 13. As the recipient of the festival's honorary Palme d'Or, in recognition of her lifetime achievement in film, Jodie's slated to appear as a special guest when she receives the award at the opening ceremony, according to Deadline. "Cannes is a festival to which I owe so much, it has completely changed my life," Jodie said in a statement about the honor. "My first time on the Croisette was a defining moment for me. Showcasing one of my films here has always been a dream of mine," she added. "I am flattered that Cannes thought of me and I am very honored to be able to share a few words of wisdom or tell an adventure or two with a new generation of filmmakers." The 2021 Cannes Film Festival returns to the French Riviera with Spike Lee heading its jury from July 6 through July 17.

"I have a dimple in my chin that she didn't have, so we would seal that up," Jessica recalled. "Her face was more round than mine, so I would have things on my cheeks. Their expertise just helped me so much with my confidence in playing her." Ed Sheeran's fans are now pretty convinced he has new music on the way — and it sure seems like Courteney Cox is involved. Over the weekend, Ed shared a video that showed him reenacting "the routine," a silly dance that made multiple appearances over the years on "Friends," with the actress. But the plot thickened on June 3, when Ed posted a second video of him and Courteney on Instagram. This time, the "Friends" alum is playing piano while he plays guitar in the clip, which Ed simply captioned "June 25." Fans quickly filled the comments with questions about whether that means a new album is in the works for a late June release. Although Ed hadn't responded to the questions by the end of the day, a source tells Variety the Courteney posts aren't surprising, as the two are pals and Ed has written music with Courteney's U.K.-based partner, Johnny McDaid. "He generally stays with her when he comes to L.A.," the source noted, adding, "Ed introduced Courteney to Johnny."

Scooter Braun files for arbitration in $200 million legal dispute over failed business venture

Taylor Swift's not the only person accusing Scooter Braun of manipulation and intimidation. This week, the music manager, who handles the careers of singers including Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato, filed a petition for arbitration in a $200 million lawsuit brought against him by a former business associate. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Peter Comisar, the former vice chairman of investment banking for Guggenheim Securities, claims he was hired by Scooter and business manager David Bolno to help out with a private equity firm for their ventures in 2016. Peter says he signed written agreements with Scooter and David detailing a three-year budget in which Scooter promised to invest personally in the fund, SCOPE Capital Management, boasting that he could raise hundreds of millions of dollars through his personal connections. Peter says that by April 2018, Scooter had stopped making good on those and other financial promises, including the salary Peter was being paid for his work. Peter alleges in the suit that Scooter intimated him and threatened to destroy his career with a smear campaign that included false details such as the assertion Peter was once fired from Goldman Sachs for racism. "The racism claim was entirely fabricated and without basis," the complaint clains. "The untoward intimidation strategy of Braun and Bolno hatched in September 2018 failed. Comisar has remained a value-added Board member and steward of investors' capital in this portfolio company during the two and one-half years that have passed since the attempted smear." Citing "fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and breaches of contract," Peter is asking for $200 million worth of damages. Scooter has denied all the claims in his request for arbitration. "One day I woke up to find out that a guy who took $5 million from us years ago with zero results has now read a headline of our success and has shown up out of the blue to ask for more money," Scooter tweeted on June 3. "Got to love a good opportunist. Unfortunately we don't scare easy. Wish him well."
