On Jan. 12, 2023, Hollywood was rocked by the news that Lisa Marie Presley — Elvis Presley's only child — was dead at 54. Paramedics were dispatched to her home in Calabasas, California, that morning on a cardiac arrest call after she was found unresponsive by her housekeeper, TMZ reported, and transported her to a local hospital where she passed away hours later — just two days after attending the 2023 Golden Globe Awards in support of the film "Elvis."
One year after her death from a small bowel obstruction — which was a complication of bariatric surgery she'd had years earlier — revisit how the stars reacted to her tragic passing…

A rep for Priscilla Presley released a statement to TMZ which read, "Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time." Priscilla also put out a statement to People magazine, which read, "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment."
