Christie Brinkley gets real about aging
Christie Brinkley looks beyond amazing for 67, but she still gets down about aging sometimes. In an interview with Dr. Mehmet Oz for his May 7 show, the supermodel and mother of three recalled what led to her decision to finally have hip replacement surgery 26 years after she was injured in a helicopter crash. Though she'd been advised to have the surgery 12 years ago, she never went through with it. But when her shoulder started bothering her, too, she realized things were not going to get better on their own. "I started feeling like, 'Oh my gosh, this is how you get old,'" she recalled, per People. "It was really depressing so I thought, you know what, I'm going to start to whittle away at it. I'm going to do whatever it takes," she explained. "I'm going to start to whittle away at this and I thought the hip is what scares me the most. Let me check in on the hip." Once she "checked in on the hip," Christie was delighted to find she felt better and could be more active. "I tell you for people at home, go speak to the doctors," she urged viewers on "The Dr. Oz Show." "Find out what they can do for you. You know the more you learn about it the less afraid you will be and don't be afraid because you know what these surgeries can do now," she added. "The way they have perfected them is really amazing."
Sharon Osbourne is reportedly being pitched on an updated version of her family's reality series
Is the world ready for "The Osbournes 2.0?" A new report from The Sun claims that in the wake of her exit from "The Talk," Sharon's received "several" proposals from production companies interested in rebooting her family's old reality show, which aired on MTV from 2002 until 2005. "Sharon is ready to go again for the right deal, absolutely," one TV insider said, per the British tabloid. And that deal could hover around the $20 million mark, according to The Sun's industry experts. With Ozzy Osbourne planning to get back on the road with his tour next summer, Kelly Osbourne launching a new podcast and moving towards acting and the 20th anniversary of "The Osbournes" coming up in 2022, The Sun's insider believes "a deal [for a reboot] is closer than ever." The same source, however, also claims that "the family are just as wild as ever," which is … not the case. Kelly recently revealed she's sober again following a recent relapse. Ozzy and Jack Osbourne are both sober as well. The source doesn't seem to think Sharon's reputation will suffer much despite the circumstances of her departure from "The Talk," which she left after a racially charged, on-camera argument with her then-friend Sheryl Underwood. "The controversy surrounding Sharon's exit from 'The Talk' will soon die down," says the insider, "and a platform like ['The Osbournes'] allows her to say what she wants and viewers will remember exactly why they loved her in the first place." The famous family has attempted to reboot their show in the past, without much success. In 2009, Fox aired and promptly canceled "The Osbournes Reloaded" after just one episode. Asked if "any new offers [are] on the table" for Sharon currently, her rep told The Sun, "We will announce future projects at the appropriate time."
Caitlyn Jenner praises Trump, slams COVID-19 restrictions in first interview of campaign for governor
Caitlyn Jenner gave the first sit-down interview of her gubernatorial campaign on the May 5 edition of Fox's "The Sean Hannity Show," where she discussed issues ranging from the coronavirus pandemic and the economy to immigration and California's growing wildfire threat. And while she made it clear she liked Donald Trump and dislikes Joe Biden, she didn't give much explanation for those positions, nor did she commit to her lifelong Republican status as she aims to knock out Democrat Gavin Newsom in the upcoming recall election. "What I liked about Donald Trump is he was a disruptor, you know," she said of the former president, who remains banned from Twitter, Facebook and YouTube in the wake of the Capitol riot on Jan. 6. "Biden, I don't think I've agreed with anything," she said of the current president, who recently scrapped the Trump administration's restrictions on trans people in the military — the same restrictions Caitlyn condemned Trump for on Twitter and on her own website in July 2017. Regarding other topics, Caitlyn said, "I am pro law enforcement, pro border patrol, pro ICE," according to the Daily Mail. She also said she is "all for the wall" and is "pro illegal immigration" until the interviewer corrected her on the latter, asking if she meant "pro legal" rather than illegal immigration. At another point in the interview, the 71-year-old athlete turned reality star criticized Gavin Newsom for maintaining strict COVID-19 restrictions, saying she'd end them all immediately. She also slammed the governor for his handling of the economy in her adopted home state and said her "friends are leaving California." As an example, she said a man whose airplane hangar is next to the hangar where she stores her jet in Malibu recently told her he was moving to Sedona, Arizona. "I can't take it anymore," he apparently explained. "I can't walk down the streets and see the homeless.'"

Kris Jenner, Khloe Kardashian spent $37M to build their own compound
Looks like the Kardashians could be getting their own "kompound" for the low, low price of $37 million … Last fall, Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian, along with her beau Tristan Thompson, bought adjacent lots in the Hidden Hills section of Los Angeles, according to Variety. Now, Realtor.com records show the momager and her daughter spent a combined $37 million on the 3.4 acres of land, leading to speculation that the two are building a compound for the family. Per Fox News, Khloe spent $17 million on the 1.86-acre lot, while her momager dropped $20 million on the lot next door. The sales, which went through on the same day, suggest $28.3 million of Khloe and Kris' money will fund construction costs, since the property was listed for less than $9 million. The land was previously home to Britney Spears' mansion, which has since been torn down.
Mark Wahlberg's chef reveals how he gained 20 pounds in three weeks
Last month, Mark Wahlberg told Jimmy Kimmel he was psyched to dig into some Denny's meals as part of a mission to gain 30 pounds in a short period of time for his upcoming boxer film, "Stu." Unfortunately, his handlers don't seem to have included any Moons Over My Hammy or Lumberjack Slams in his diet, now that he's actually gaining the weight. Speaking to E! News this week, Mark's personal chef, Lawrence Duran, dished on the 7,000-calorie a day meal plan he put the actor on in the interest of getting to his goal weight safely. So far, he's added 20 pounds to his frame in three weeks, the chef said. "We try to hit 7,000 calories a day, but it's not easy for anyone to take in that much food even though we're breaking it up into smaller meals," said Lawrence. "He's eating about every three hours. We do good carbohydrates, dark green vegetables, and then, just switch up the protein throughout the day and, at least, a dozen eggs a day," the chef continued. The eggs start around 3 a.m. before Mark's first workout. At that point he noshes on four yolks and whites. After hitting the gym, he reportedly downs eight more eggs, six strips of bacon, a cup of rice, two tablespoons of olive oil and a protein shake. "It's his protein-inspired mass weight-gainer to help build on a little more muscle as well," Lawrence said. Over the course of the rest of the day, Mark's been eating things like veal chops, pork chops, steak, fish and grains. Finally, before bed, he gets what Lawrence described as "a mash that consists of one cup of cooked steel-cut oatmeal, two tablespoons of applesauce, two tablespoons of jelly or jam, two tablespoons of almond butter and a tablespoon of molasses." Mark, 49, plans to drop the weight again as soon as he's done filming.
Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan and the royal family wish Archie a happy 2nd birthday
The royal family put aside its tensions on May 6 to wish Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor a happy 2nd birthday from across the pond. Social media accounts for Queen Elizabeth, Harry's brother and sister-in-law Prince William and Duchess Kate, and Harry's father, Prince Charles all shared photos of the birthday boy from his christening along with messages that read, "wishing Archie a very happy 2nd birthday." Archie's mom and dad and Archewell, the nonprofit they launched after settling down in California, marked the tiny royal's big day, as well. In a statement, Meghan and Harry urged those fans who often donate to charity on [Archie's] behalf to support their pursuance of COVID-19 "vaccine equity," vowing that Archewell would match every $5 donation with a $15 donation in the interest of getting the vaccines distributed in developing and less wealthy countries, according to CNN. "We cannot think of a more resonant way to honor our son's birthday. … Even a small contribution can have a ripple effect," Meghan and Harry said in a statement. A second post on the Archewell Instagram page showed Archie from behind as he gazes up at a bunch of balloons. Alongside the picture, the post featured quotes about family life from each of the Sussexes. "It's magic. I have the two best guys in the world, so I'm really happy," Meghan is quoted as saying. Harry's quote read: "The moment you become a father everything really does change because then you start to realize, well, what is the point in bringing a new person into this world when they get to your age and it's on fire? We can't steal their future. We really can't. That's not the job we're here for. I've always believed that hopefully we can leave the world in a better place than when we found it." The couple's second child, a girl, is due this summer.
Courteney Cox dishes on filming the 'emotional' 'Friends' reunion special
At long last, the much-hyped "Friends" reunion has finally been filmed for HBO Max. Courteney Cox shared some details and teasers about the making of the upcoming special, which has yet to get a release date, during a May 6 appearance on "Ellen." "It was so emotional … It's an unscripted reunion and we got to be on Stage 24 for the first time with all of us in, I forget how many years. 15 years? 17 years?" Courteney said, according to the Daily Mail. Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres from London, where her partner Johnny McDaid is based, the actress said the whole experience was "really fun," and promising fans, "We had a lot of special surprises — and it was fantastic." Asked if being back on the same soundstage they used for the long-running sitcom brought up old memories, Courtney joked, "Oh God, I have the worst memory. Everything came up that I forgot about!" One thing the 56-year-old does remember, though, is how long it took to shoot the scene from the opening "Friends" sequence where everyone jumps in a fountain. "Somebody thought that would be really fun, and let me tell you, it's not fun. It's not fun to be dancing in a fountain for hours and hours," she quipped, adding that Matthew Perry said at one point that he couldn't remember ever not being in the fountain. "Friends" aired for 10 seasons from 1994 until 2004.. While the cast appears as themselves, not their characters, in the special, David Schwimmer recently hinted that some kind of in-character table read is involved.
Janet Jackson's childhood math tests and more head to the auction block
Ahead of her 55th birthday on May 16, Janet Jackson is sending more than 1,000 of her personal belongings — including childhood memorabilia and concert and video-worn costumes from throughout her career — to the auction block for a good cause. Hosted by Julien's Auctions, with a portion of proceeds going to support the global child advocacy group, Compassion International, the sale features items like history, math, spelling and science tests Janet took in grade school around the same time she appeared on the popular TV series, "Good Times;" outfits she wore as a little girl and stage ensembles and props from her decades-spanning tour history. The auction's expected to rake in about $2 million, according to the Daily Mail. Meanwhile, the singer and actress is still celebrating the 35th anniversary of her massive hit solo album, "Control," which included fan-fave tracks like "Nasty" and "What Have You Done for Me Lately." According to NME, Janet recently teamed up with the augmented reality company RTFKT to release a selection of exclusive, "Control"-centric NFTs and online experiences. Like the auction, which is slated to go live May 14 – 16 in honor of Janet's birthday, the NFTs will partially benefit Compassion International.
Josh Duggar released on bail ahead of July trial
Former "19 Kids and Counting Star" Josh Duggar was released on bail on May 6 after he was arrested for possessing and receiving child pornography, according to E! News. The soon-to-be father of seven will now live with family friends, pastor Lacount Reber and his wife, Maria Reber, until his trial begins in July. The Arkansas judge handling his case said she "cannot in good conscience" allow him to return home to his expectant wife, Anna, and their six kids, though she gave him "unlimited contact" with the children — but Anna must be present at all times. Josh was also told to have zero contact with other minors, including all of his nieces and nephews. The former reality star's arrest came after a federal investigation that allegedly turned up some 200 images — including images an agent said were "in the top five of the worst of the worst that I've ever had to examine." Some of the images reportedly showed children as young as 18 months to 12 years old being sexually abused. Josh pleaded not guilty to all charges against him on April 30. If convicted on both child pornography counts, he could face up to 40 years in prison.
