Christina Applegate reveals she gained 40 lbs. on MS meds
Christina Applegate is up for a 2023 SAG award for her performance in the final season of "Dead To Me." But it took the actress months to watch herself onscreen that season. Christina, 51, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021 while filming Season 3, and it had started to affect her, physically. "I don't like seeing myself struggling," she told the Los Angeles Times in an interview published this week. "Also, I gained 40 lbs. because of inactivity and medications, and I didn't look like myself, and I didn't feel like myself." Eventually, Christina said she watched the whole season, taking breaks along the way when it was too hard to deal with.
"At some point I was able to distance myself from my own ego, and realize what a beautiful piece of television it was," she told the Times. "All the scenes I wasn't in were so much fun to see and experience for the very first time."

Salma Hayek's wedding 'was like an intervention'
Getting Salma Hayek to her own wedding was a group effort. In a new cover story for Glamour, the "Magic Mike's Last Dance" star says her courthouse wedding to Francois-Henri Pinault "was like an intervention" staged by concerned loved ones. "I didn't even know I was getting married that day," she admits when asked about the couple's anniversary. "No, they just took me to the court. My parents, my brother, they were all ganging up on me. I had a phobia of the marriage thing."
It seems the actress, now 56, had finally accepted Henri's marriage proposal (after rejecting him twice) but was still reluctant to go through with it. Enter Salma's family. "The reason why it was a courthouse wedding was because they dragged me there," she says. "I was nervous," Salma explains. "And then after, there was a lunch at his parents' house. My mother-in-law, who's the most tasteful person when it comes to entertaining, had already been doing the lunch. I had no choice." Asked if she "couldn't say no" when it came time to do the deed, the actress clarifies that "it was because I had said yes to the marriage, but I just wouldn't actually show up on the day or do it. And then afterward I said, 'Oh, it's OK. I don't feel any different.;' And then a little bit later I said, 'OK, this is kind of exciting.' And he's like, 'Can we have a party now?'"
The couple went on to tie the knot again at a larger ceremony and now celebrate their anniversary twice a year — once for each wedding. "I do have to say that I have found it beautiful, getting older with someone," Salma says.

Michael Jackson's estate to sell catalog for nearly $1 billion: Report
Michael Jackson's estate could soon close a near-$1 billion deal to sell half its stake in the late singer's music catalog, Variety reported on Tuesday (Feb. 7), citing Sony "and a possible financial partner" as the likely buyers.
If the outlet's sources are correct, the $800 – $900 million sale would be the largest music catalog deal in history — and by a long shot. The music biz has seen a wave of major artists unload their catalogs for big bucks in recent years, and Sony's been involved in many of the biggest deals, including its reported $600 million purchase of Bruce Springsteen's recorded-music and publishing catalogs. According to Variety, the MJ catalog would include "50% of the estate's interests in Jackson's publishing, recorded-music revenues, the 'MJ: The Musical; Broadway show and the upcoming biopic 'Michael,' and possibly more assets."
Sony already owns a large chunk of Michael's catalog after buying the estate's share of Michael's solo and late-era Jackson 5 publishing in 2016 for $750 million. Michael, who died in 2009 at age 50, remains one of the best-selling artists of all time.

Lea Michele addresses 'Glee' castmates' bullying claims
Before returning to the stage in "Funny Girl," Lea Michele says she contacted her former "Glee" castmates about claims she was a bully on set. "I think these past two years have been so important for everybody to just sit back and reflect. I did a lot of personal reach-outs," Lea recently told Interview. "More than anything, I'm so grateful to have this opportunity to apply the things that I've learned over the past 10-plus years in a positive way."
In 2020, Lea's former co-star Samantha Ware went public with claims Lea and her "traumatic microaggressions" made the set a toxic place to work. Multiple "Glee" stars soon came forward, sharing similar experiences. Heading into the Broadway production, Lea said she recognized that this time around, she needed to be "a leader" both onstage and off if she were to take the "Funny Girl" role.
"At the end of the day, what matters the most is how you make people feel. And you have to put aside your feelings. The conversations that I've had behind the scenes with some people were incredibly healing and very eye-opening for me," Lea added. "I've been doing this for a really long time and I'm not going to ever blame anything on the things that I've been through in my life. But you also can't ignore those experiences or deny them."
'The Late Late Show' to end 28-year run when James Corden exits
After 28 years on CBS with a series of four hosts, "The Late Late Show" will go off the air for good when James Corden leaves his post later this year, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In its place, sources tell THR the network will bring back the comedy improv game show, "@midnight," with Stephen Colbert at the helm as executive producer. Created in the '90s by David Letterman, "The Late Late Show" premiered with host Tom Snyder in 1995. Craig Kilborn took over in 1999 after leaving "The Daily Show" (to his successor Jon Stewart), followed by Craig Ferguson in 2005. James came on board as host of the late-night franchise in 2015 before announcing he'd step down in 2023. "I always thought I'd do it for five years and then leave, and then I stayed on," he told Deadline last year, adding that he'd been "thinking about it for a long time … whether there might be one more adventure."
While reps for CBS declined to comment on its plans to replace its long-running 12:30 a.m. staple, Stephen Colbert's rumored new take on "@midnight" is expected to resemble the original show, which featured a panel of comics and celebs improvising answers to joke setups. CBS has yet to confirm a finale date for "The Late Late Show" as of Wednesday (Feb. 8).
Elizabeth Chambers recalls initial reaction to Armie Hammer sex allegations
Armie Hammer's estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, is opening up about the end of their marriage and revealing how she reacted when the actor was hit with allegations involving sexual assault and his allegedly violent sex fetishes. The stars announced they were separating in July 2020, as COVID-19 forced them to quarantine together. He eventually left her with their children in the Cayman Islands to work on a construction project in California. "He was the worst," Elizabeth tells Elle in a new interview. In 2021, after social media messages surfaced featuring his alleged descriptions of rape and cannibalistic fantasies, multiple women accused him of manipulating them. A sexual assault claim followed, which Armie's lawyer denied. "I was learning things as the public was," Elizabeth tells Elle. "I was like, 'There are no words. What the f***?'"
"The Social Network" star has since spent half a year in treatment for substance abuse and sex addiction and he and Elizabeth are in communication as co-parents. "I support Armie through his journey and I always will," she says. "All I've ever wanted is for him to be sober, healthy, and happy. And he is that. He's really present when he's with the kids, and that's all I can hope for."
Evangeline Lilly says Jeremy Renner's recovery is 'a miracle' after accident
Jeremy Renner may still be wheelchair-bound, but the Marvel star is already "wheeling himself around, laughing with friends," according to his friend and "Hurt Locker" co-star, Evangeline Lilly. "He has recovered like a m***," Evangeline told "Access Hollywood" this week when asked about her co-star's recovery from a New Year's Day snowplow accident. "I walked into his house and I got chicken skin because I was like, 'Why are you mobile? What's happening?'" she recalled. "I expected to sit at his bedside and hold his hand while he moaned and groaned in pain. But he was wheeling himself around, laughing with friends … It's a straight-up miracle. He's made himself really tough, that guy. You've always been able to see that in him. He is recovering incredibly, and it's beautiful. I'm so grateful." Jeremy was run over by the plow near his home in Nevada while trying to protect his nephew as it slid out of control with no one in the driver's seat.
