Fans liken Ryan Gosling's Ken in 'Barbie' to an 'aging generous Palm Springs daddy,' Ellen DeGeneres and more
Welp, the official "Barbie" trailer is out and the reviews of Ryan Gosling's appearance as Ken are … not great. On April 4, as fans caught wind of the Warner Bros. trailer, they hit social media en masse with questions and critiques of Ryan's Ken look. "Ken needs Botox," one person suggested. "Y'all gonna jump me if I say Ryan Gosling kinda look like Ellen in that Barbie trailer ? cause if so I DIDNT SAY THAT!" wrote another user (via DailyMail.com), likening Ryan's bleached hair vibe to that of Ellen DeGeneres. "Barbie trailer looks INCREDIBLE but MAN ryan gosling as ken looks so OLD!!!! the bleached hair isn't doing what it's supposed to be doing unfortunately," quipped yet another person. While a range of reactions to the Greta Gerwig-directed comedy's trailer surfaced, not too many of them were kind (read: "aging generous Palm Springs daddy"). Ryan's co-star, Margot Robbie, meanwhile, got considerably more favorable attention in the wake of the trailer's release. The live-action "Barbie" hits theaters July 21.

Ivanka Trump visited Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago days before his arraignment
Despite having distanced herself from her father amid his Stormy Daniels hush money scandal, Ivanka Trump reportedly visited her dad at Mar-a-Lago in Florida over the weekend ahead of his arraignment in New York City on Tuesday (April 4). Page Six reports "multiple sources confirmed" Ivanka went to see Donald on Sunday, the same day she and her husband Jared Kushner were reportedly spotted in nearby Bal Harbor, Florida. Her trip came on the heels of a grand jury's decision to indict Donald last week. "I love my father and I love my country," Ivanka wrote on Instagram after the grand jury's vote was made public. "Today I am pained for both. I appreciate the voices across the political spectrum expressing support and concern."
Donald faces 34 counts of filing false business records in the first degree, according to the New York Times. Prosecutors are accusing the former president of three hush-money deals involving alleged payments to Stormy, a former Playboy model and a doorman as part of an alleged scheme during his 2016 presidential campaign. He entered a not guilty plea while appearing in court Tuesday.
Barbara Walters reportedly said ABC forced her 'to quit' 'The View'
In May 2014, Barbara Walters announced she was retiring from "The View," which she co-created in 1997, co-hosted for 17 seasons and executive produced. But according to one her former co-hosts, Lisa Ling, the veteran journalist said ABC actually forced her to leave the show. Speaking to The Cut in a March 2023 interview, Lisa recalled asking her colleague on her last day if she'd soon be "lounging in a hammock in Tahiti," given her retirement plans. "[She] just leaned over and whispered, 'They're making me quit,'" Lisa recalled, thinking back to the off-air moment, which she noted she'd "never shared" before.
In her retirement announcement, Barbara explained, "I want to leave while people are still saying, 'why is she leaving?' instead of 'why doesn't she leave?" She also acknowledge she'd "had an amazing career – beyond anything I could have imagined," adding, "and I hope I have inspired some other women both in front of and behind the camera." Barbara, who became the United States' first female network news anchor in 1976 on "ABC Evening News" and co-hosted "20/20" for many years, died in December 2022 at age 93.
Leonardo DiCaprio testifies in former Fugees star's trial
Donald Trump's not the only celebrity making court appearances this week. On Monday (April 3), Leonardo DiCaprio testified in federal court regarding his relationship with Malaysian financier Low Taek Jho, aka Jho Low. Leo's testimony was used in the trial of Fugees rapper and singer Pras (Prakazrel Michel), who stands accused of "funneling money" from Jho " through straw donors to Barack Obama's 2012 reelection campaign," according to the Associated Press. Jho, a key financers for Leo's film, "The Wolf of Wall Street." In his testimony, Leo reportedly described having met Jho — "a huge businessman with many different connections in Abu Dhabi and Malaysia" — at a party in Las Vegas in 2010. The actor said he also knew Pras, having met him backstage after a Fugees show in the '90s. Leo said he and Pras were both present on a handful of trips Jho brought them on, and discussed the financier's history of donating to his projects. "I was given the green light by my team as well as my studio. He was a legitimate business person wanting to invest in the movie," he said. Elsewhere in his testimony, Leo said Jho told him at some point he planned to donate a large amount of money to Barack's campaign. "It was a significant sum — something to the tune of $20-30 million," Leo recalled. "I said, 'Wow that's a lot of money!'" Other witnesses claimed Pras asked them to make large contributions to the campaign, then tried to give them the money to donate.
Blac Chyna, aka Angela White, talks famous exes' reaction to plastic surgery changes
After a string of public conversations about having her implants removed and facial fillers dissolved, Blac Chyna, who's now using her given name Angela White, revealed that her kids' famous fathers — she shares 6-year-old daughter Dream with ex Rob Kardashian and son King with ex Tyga — have yet to comment on her transformation. During a recent appearance on "Sway In The Morning," the model and former reality star was asked how Rob Kardashian and Tyga responded to her reversal of the injections and implants. Admitting she hasn't "heard anything yet," as far as their responses to the physical changes, the mother of two told Sway (via People): "I am pretty sure that they see it, and every day we are changing. We are getting older and I am just grateful for my kids. So I will always have that respect for them, and vice versa. That's all I ask for, respect."
Her interview aired a few days before she showed off what she said on Instagram was a doctorate degree in liberal arts from the Sacramento Theological Seminary and Bible College. A website for the (mostly online) school does not contain information about what constitutes its doctorate program. It claims the school is accredited by Transworld Accrediting, an organization GetEducated.com has called out as a fake.
Why Prince Harry stayed at Frogmore Cottage after his eviction
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have yet to announce their plans for the upcoming coronation of Harry's father, King Charles III, on May 6. But a pair of new reports regarding the Duke of Sussex's recent trip to London suggest tensions remain between Harry and his family. The Telegraph reports Harry stayed at Frogmore Cottage, the home he shared with Meghan before the two stepped down as working senior royals, but his recent eviction from the estate still stands. "He appeared in court on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and is thought likely to have also used the visit to sort out the couple's belongings and work out what needs to be shipped to the U.S. ahead of vacating the property," according to the outlet, which notes Harry and Meghan initially planned to hold onto the Frogmore residence even after they relocated to California.
Meanwhile, if the prince planned to chat with his dad about Frogmore or the coronation, it seems that didn't happen during his week-long trip. "[Harry] tried to see King Charles, but King Charles said he was too busy," royal expert Alexander Larman recently told Us Weekly. Harry was in London last week for hearings related to his phone hacking lawsuit at the Royal Courts of Justice.
