Trump talk
On Tuesday, June 20, the stars of "The View" weighed in on Donald Trump's recent Fox News interview with Bret Baier, which saw the former president slam his communications director-turned-"The View" co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin. "Something happens, when people leave … I have this woman named Alyssa Farah, she said the greatest things, long after she left," Trump said in the segment, which aired Monday night. "Then 'The View' offered her a contract, but obviously only if she changed her views, and all of a sudden she can say negative things. Money gets offered to people and some people change."
Sara Haines defended Alyssa on "The View" the next morning, telling her colleague she wanted to "clear your name" of the claims Trump had made about her, according to Entertainment Weekly. "Let me just remind him that the second he started denying the election was when Alyssa left," Haines continued. "It was a year and a half later with her view highly changed [that] she came to this show." Griffin thanked Haines for clarifying the timeline of her departure from Trump's staff, where she worked in 2020, and her post in the conservative seat on "The View," which began with the current 26th season. Alyssa later said when she took the job with Trump, she thought she could improve what she saw as his failings. "You thought you could make him better, you could convince him of what's right and what's wrong," she said, in part. Instead, Alyssa came to determine her boss was "not a fixable individual" and left.

'Rocky' statue or bust
Adele is reportedly wrapping up a major renovation of the mansion she bought from Sylvester Stallone for $58 million. One item that will apparently remain intact, however, is the statue of Rocky Balboa that looks out across what used to be Sly's pool. The "Rocky" star was asked about selling his house to Adele during a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal. Specifically, the reporter wondered if Sly wanted to keep the iconic statue when he sold the home. "I did," Sylvester replied. Turns out he left it behind because Adele's interest in buying the mansion was contingent on keeping the Rocky statue on the grounds. When the matter came up in their negotiations, Adele said if the statue's not included, "That's a no-deal. That's gonna blow the whole deal," according to the "Rocky" star. Sylvester also confirmed the singer is renovating the estate. "I like what she's doing, she's making it gorgeous," he said.

SJP talks Kim Cattrall cameo
Sarah Jessica Parker has (finally) addressed Kim Cattrall's upcoming cameo in the "Sex and the City" spin-off, "And Just Like That." After years of rumored tension between the longtime "Sex and the City" costars, Kim did not reprise her role as Samantha Jones on Max's new limited series. Instead, her character was referenced as having moved to Europe amid a work-related dispute with Sarah's character, Carrie Bradshaw. Season 1 of "And Just Like That" featured a storyline about Carrie communicating with Samantha via text, but little more. Then, on June 1, Kim stunned fans by confirming on social media that she'll make a cameo in Season 2. Now, SJP is weighing in.
"I was really excited about the idea," Sarah said of Kim's cameo in an Entertainment Tonight interview published Tuesday, June 20. "I thought it was a really good idea and I was thrilled that, you know, we could make it happen and that it worked for her and it's just really nice to see. … I was really pleased." In addition to highlighting how Carrie and Samantha's friendship has continued from afar, Sarah said having Kim make an appearance also serves to "celebrate the 25 years" of "Sex and the City." "You know, this is a hugely important relationship for Carrie, it's been filled with affection," Sarah said, adding that the cameo was also written into the script well. "Just the way [showrunner] Michael [Patrick King] Michael placed it … and the sentimental moment in which it occurs is just a really nice little thing," she explained. "And Just Like That" returns to HBO Max with Season 2 on Thursday, June 22.
Moving to Spotify
Just days after Spotify confirmed it's parted ways with Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan and their $20 million, multi-year podcast deal, the platform announced a new celebrity podcast is in the works, starring Trevor Noah. The longtime "Daily Show" host's upcoming series will "feature in-depth and freewheeling conversations" with "some of the most influential and interesting figures around the world," according to a press release (via The Hollywood Reporter). Trevor, who's already hosted the Grammys and inked a book deal and a comedy tour since leaving "The Daily Show," called the Spotify show "a fun new adventure." And there's a good chance he's right about the "adventure" part of that statement. Spotify ditched Harry and Meghan's Archewell Audio production company from its roster less than one year after Meghan's first "Archetypes" podcast aired — and two weeks after Spotify cut 200 jobs from its podcast division, according to CNN.
Meanwhile, at least one of Spotify's higher-ups has publicly supported the decision to drop Harry and Meghan. Bill Simmons, who currently leads Spotify's "podcast innovation and monetization" team, slammed the royals as "grifters" on the Friday, June 16, edition of his eponymous podcast. "I wish I had been involved in the 'Meghan and Harry leave Spotify' negotiation," he said at one point. "'The F****** Grifters.' That's the podcast we should have launched with them."

"Happy birthday my darling friend 🎉," Naomi Watts posted on Instagram alongside a cute photo of the pair, who've been close friends for many years. "Here's to more years of deep friendship and fun adventures. Love you to the moon. So grateful for your love and support. 💥💕."
Trial date set
Actor Jonathan Majors made his first appearance in court on Tuesday, June 20, in connection with domestic violence allegations made against him in March. The Marvel star's girlfriend, Meagan Good, joined him for the brief hearing, where a judge scheduled his trial to begin Aug. 3, according to Variety. Jonathan, 33, was arrested in New York City on March 25 and charged with assault and aggravated harassment after Grace Jabbari, 30, told police he'd attacked her, leaving her with "minor injuries to her head and neck," the outlet reported. A lawyer for Jonathan maintains he is innocent. In a statement on Tuesday, attorney Priya Chaudhry said she had given evidence to the Manhattan District Attorney "proving Grace Jabbari's assault on Jonathan Majors and not the other way around."
