Reports reveal how Brad Pitt met model Nicole Poturalski
So how, exactly, did Brad Pitt meet his new girlfriend, German model Nicole Poturalski? A source told "Entertainment Tonight" on Aug. 27 that the two — who were photographed traveling together in France on Aug. 26 — "were introduced through friends, and when they first started seeing each other, they told no one about it. Even some of their inner circle of friends are only finding out now." The source added that the actor "has been very private about dating and now more than ever he doesn't want to rock the boat with [ex-wife] Angelina [Jolie]. He has been working so hard on making his co-parenting run smoothly." MailOnline, however, claims to have more specific details about how it all began. According to an Aug. 28 report in the British webloid, Brad, 56, met Nicole, 27, in August 2019 at the Berlin restaurant Borchardt, which is owned by her husband, restauranter Roland Mary, 68, with whom she shares a young son, Emil. Brad was familiar with the upscale eatery, the webloid reported, as he'd dined there while making "Inglorious Basterds" in Germany in 2009. He returned last summer while promoting his latest Quentin Tarantino movie, "Once Upon A Time in Hollywood," with the director and his co-stars. "Brad was introduced to Roland's wife, Nicole, and she passed him her number. Nicole travels a lot for her work as a fashion model and she connected with Brad Pitt while she was in [Los Angeles] for work [a few weeks later]," a friend of the model told MailOnline. Roland told MailOnline "no comment" when contacted by the outlet, which further claims that Nicole and Roland have an understanding about her "close friendship" with the movie star. "Roland is a very philosophical guy," the friend explained. "He has been married several times and has five children. He is not interested in negativity or jealousy. They are still married but you could describe their relationship as an 'open marriage.'"

As Lainey Gossip points out, the timing is interesting: Just a few days earlier six years ago, Brad and Angelina got married — with their kids taking center stage — at Chateau Miraval, which is where Brad was reportedly headed with new girlfriend Nicole Poturalski on Aug. 26 when they were photographed at an airport outside of Paris, which sparked global headlines and led to confirmation about their previously clandestine romance. Since Nobu Malibu is a known paparazzi hotspot, Lainey Gossip suggests, it's "definitely a place you want to hit up if you want to drive home the point that your ex-husband, who has had a complicated relationship with the children, is currently gallivanting with his hot young lover at the home she and their children once shared with him."

Page Six further pointed out that Khloe herself dropped another reconciliation clue earlier in the month when she posted a message to fans that read "Not a secret, just not your business."

Despite an oft-reported-on rift between them, Prince William and Prince Harry came together to issue a rare joint statement on Aug. 28 concerning their mother, the late Princess Diana, People magazine reported. Monday, Aug. 31, marks 23 years since her tragic death in Paris. Kensington Palace issued a message on behalf of the siblings about a statue honoring Diana that's been in the works for a few years now. "The statue that Prince William and Prince Harry have commissioned to commemorate their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, will be installed next year on what would have been her 60th Birthday," the statement began. "The statue was commissioned to mark the 20th anniversary of her death and recognize her positive impact in the UK and around the world. The statue will be installed in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace on 1st July 2021, marking the Princess's 60th birthday. The Princes hope that the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on their mother's life and her legacy." In 2017, the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex revealed they'd chosen Ian Rank-Broadley to create the piece. He's the artist behind the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II that's appears on British and Commonwealth coins since 1998, BBC reported.
Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich spark reconciliation rumors with lunch date
There's fresh speculation that Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich could be on the road to reconciliation. The dancer, singer and host and the retired pro hockey player — who announced their separation in May after less than three years of marriage — were photographed having lunch together on the patio at Porta Via Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles on Aug. 27 and walking around an outdoor shopping center together, DailyMail.com, which has the exclusive photos, reported. The lunch date comes not long after Brooks was on hand to celebrate Julianne's 32nd birthday at a small pool party in July.

Attention, "Normal People" fans: Paul Mescal is set to make his feature film debut. A month after scoring an Emmy nomination for his work on the critically acclaimed show based on Sally Rooney's novel of the same name, the 24-year-old Irish actor has signed on to star in actress Maggie Gyllenhaal's directorial debut, "The Lost Daughter," The Hollywood Reporter announced on Aug. 28. The project also stars Olivia Colman, Dakota Johnson and Maggie's husband, actor Peter Sarsgaard.

British singer Liam Payne and his Texas-born girlfriend, Maya Henry, are engaged, his rep confirmed to Us Weekly and People magazines on Aug. 28. The former One Direction star, 26, and the 20-year-old model sparked engagement speculation on Aug. 27 after an enormous diamond sparkler was spotted on Maya's left-hand ring finger as the couple left London restaurant Novikov. Andi Dorfman and Nick Viall's relationships has run the gamut in recent years. HGTV star Christina Anstead's husband, "Wheeler Dealers" host Ant Anstead, is back on social media after announcing he was taking a break nearly a month ago after dealing with the "toxic element" of online posting and blocking more than 100 people. In a new post he shared on Aug. 27, Ant revealed he also took a break from the United States and returned to his native England to see his kids from his first marriage, Archie and Amelie, where they celebrated his son's 14th birthday and his daughter's high school graduation. Ant also revealed in his slideshow post documenting their happy reunion that he had to quarantine for two weeks before he could see his kids, in keeping with U.K. guidelines amid the coronavirus pandemic.
