Hilary Duff
Everything's bigger in Texas, which might explain Hilary Duff's Lone Star large showbiz ambitions. It all started when she and her sister, Haylie, took dance and singing lessons and pirouetted their way through the 1993 San Antonio ballet's Nutcracker Suite run. Her mom relocated the sisters to California that same year although things didn't really take off until 1998 when Duff, with some commercials under her belt, got friendly in Caspar Meets Wendy. She almost gave up in 2000 after she was dropped from the cast of Daddio before it aired. Good thing she didn't because later that year she got the lead in Disney's Lizzie McGuire series, which eventually drew two million viewers per episode, spawned a lucrative merch line and a movie that grossed more than $50 million at the box office and made the perky blonde a tween icon. She released several pop CDs including the No. 1 Metamorphosis, created a clothing line called Stuff By Hillary Duff in 2004, a fragrance, starred in non-Disney films like A Cinderella Story after her break from the Mouse House in 2003, appeared in the video game, The Sims 2: Pets and write two young adult novels, Elixir and Devoted. After getting plenty of tabloid ink for her relationships with Aaron Carter (which sparked a love triangle with Lindsay Lohan) and Joel Madden (who was significantly older and quickly moved on with Nicole Richie), she found marital bliss with hockey player Mike Comrie in 2010. The pair welcomed son Luca in 2012.
