That time Salma Hayek's owl barfed on Harry Styles' head, more news
Turns out Harry Styles is a total gentleman when it comes to managing odd pet situations. Take Salma Hayek's owl, for instance. As the actress recounted to Ellen DeGeneres on her show this week, Harry had reason to meet Salma's pet owl Kering at some point and was "super cool" when Kering landed on the singer's head and barfed up a "ball of rat hair," presumably from the owl's most recent meal. "One time there was a very important celebrity — I will not say his name," Salma began, per People. "He was really excited about the owl and was hoping that the owl would go on his head because it was on me. The minute he least expected it, [Kering landed] on his head …. and this thing came out, this ball of rat hair was on his head." Not only was Harry "OK," according to Salma — he didn't even scream, she said. Her take? That Harry must have grasped the fact that such situations arise "… sometimes when you have guests." And, we might add, when you have a bird of prey for a pet.

Post Malone just got a blingy, $1.6M smile overhaul
As the country continues to reopen and COVID-19 case numbers decline, cosmetic procedures are reportedly on the rise. Post Malone's new cosmetic investment, however, is … not exactly your mama's Botox. This week, self-professed "Father of Diamond Dentistry" Thomas Connelly, who also happens to be a pro bodybuilder, announced he'd completed a $1.6 million "smile reconstruction" on Post Malone. Post's pearly whites, it seems, now include a pair of 12-carat diamond vampire fangs, plus some porcelain veneers. "Post Malone completed his $1,600,000 smile reconstruction last weekend !!" Thomas captioned a photo of the singer-songwriter and rapper on Instagram. He also credited cosmetic dentist Naoki Hayashi and Angel City Jewelers' Isaac Bokhoor, who collaborated on the project. The diamonds are actually embedded as teeth in Post's mouth, according to Rolling Stone, which reports this was Thomas' first actual diamond tooth implant. "It's very difficult to cut holes in diamonds without destroying them," he explained. "If you get a six-carat canine tooth, you need a 12-carat raw cube. So there's a lot of waste."

Joe Jonas crashes a 'One Direction vs. The Jonas Brothers' spin class
A group of (probably confused) Atlanta spin enthusiasts had a weird surprise this week when their "One Direction vs. The Jonas Brothers"-themed Soul Cycle class ended with none other than Joe Jonas randomly appearing in the room and taking over the instructor's seat. The singer shared a hilarious video from his prank on Instagram, which he captioned, "When you've got an off day in Atlanta… why wouldn't you drop-in for a @JonasBrothers vs. @OneDirection class at @soulcycle?? Let's get it! #notanad #justlovesurprises." The clip shows Joe eyeballing the old Google and looking for "workout classes." "And just down the street, there's a Soul Cycle, so I thought let me look online and see if there are any workout classes today," he says in the clip, which appears to have been filmed by his wife, Sophie Turner. From there, we see Joe show up at the Soul Cycle venue, where he asks the person at the front desk, "I was just wondering who was winning the 'One Direction vs. The Jonas Brothers' class." The attendant says "One Direction" and Joe feigns losing it. He's allowed inside even though it's sold out though, and as he asks the class, "what's good?" while clapping along to his own music, the cyclists start realizing who has just joined them. "Joe Jonas everybody" says the teacher. By the end of the clip, Joe's on the instructor's bike, spinning, in a yellow cardigan, slacks and glasses. Safe to say one Jonas Brother came out on top there …

Judge orders Harvey Weinstein's extradition to California
Harvey Weinstein could be transferred from New York to California as soon as the end of the month after a New York judge ordered his extradition on June 15. The former producer, who's serving a 23-year prison sentence in New York for sexual assault and rape, faces 11 counts of sexual assault in Los Angeles. According to TMZ, his defense has and continues to argue that Harvey's suffering from serious health issues that should be dealt with before he travels because the quality of care he would get on the West Coast would be sub-par. Prosecutors, meanwhile, have maintained that Los Angeles is "not some remote outpost that doesn't have medical care." Harvey appeared remotely for his hearing this week. He's said to be suffering from blindness, "major dental issues," heart issues, diabetes, sleep apnea and back pain.
Lin-Manuel Miranda apologizes for 'In the Heights' casting amid colorism criticism
The big screen adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda's "In The Heights" landed over the weekend — as did criticism of the way the film, set in New York City's Washington Heights neighborhood, was cast. Though the musical is set in a diverse Caribbean diaspora community that in "real life" includes a sizeable contingent of neighbors of Afro-Latino descent, the main speaking parts are filled in all but once case with light-skinned Latino actors. Facing a growing chorus of colorism accusations, Lin-Manuel took to Twitter this week and issued an apology for his failure to accurately represent the community. "I started writing 'In The Heights' because I didn't feel seen," he shared in the Twitter statement. "And over the past 20 years all I wanted was for us – ALL of us – to feel seen. I'm seeing the discussion around Afro-Latino representation in our film this weekend, and it is clear that many in our dark-skinned Afro-Latino community don't feel sufficiently represented within it, particularly among the leading roles. I can hear the hurt and frustration over colorism, of feeling unseen in the feedback," he continued, in part. "In trying to paint a mosaic of this community, we fell short," he wrote. "I'm truly sorry. I'm learning from the feedback, I thank you for raising it, and I'm listening. I'm trying to hold space for both the incredible pride in the movie we made and be accountable for our shortcomings." He also promised to "do better" in "future projects."
Ilana Glazer shares a pregnancy update
"Broad City" alum Ilana Glazer is nearing the finish line on her first pregnancy, and as she put it on the "The Tonight Show" on June 14, "Now that I'm not puking, I'm like, 'This is really cool.'" Asked how she's feeling in her third trimester, Ilana replied, "I'm feeling really good, but I feel a little guilty about it, I guess? Just because people are like, 'I'm so sick!' I was sick for a bunch of months and then after that I was like, 'This is the coolest thing ever.'" The baby will be the first for Ilana, 34, and her husband, 40-year-old David Rooklin. And the little one comes at an odd time. Ilana's currently promoting a new Hulu thriller called "False Positive." The film revolves around a pregnant woman, played by Ilana, who's coming to see that something sinister is going on with her OB/GYN and, possibly, her baby-to-be. "We filmed this two years ago and I was very much not pregnant then, at all — not even a little bit pregnant," she quipped. "We were going to do festivals and then COVID pushed it back, and then … we were going to bring it out in April, and now I'm just so pregnant — as I am in the movie — and it's actually creepy." "False Positive" hits Hulu on June 25.
Kurt Cobain self-portrait sketch sells for $281k+ at auction
One years before his death, Kurt Cobain drew a silly, almost stick-figure self-portrait. The sketch shows him playing guitar. To the left of the figure is a scrawled, "Kurdt Kobain Rock Star," and on the right, the Nirvana frontman quipped, "I don't know how to play and I don't give a hoot!" Over the weekend, Julien's Auctions announced on Twitter it had sold the sketch for an eye-popping $281,250 as part of its Music Icons auction series. Last year, Julien's sold Kurt's 1959 Martin D-18E guitar — the same one he played on his "MTV Unplugged" special, for $6,010,000, the most that had ever been paid at auction for a guitar at the time. Kurt died in 1993 at age 27.
Adele addresses Grenfell Tower fire survivors, victims' families: 'We are all with you'
On June 14, Adele once again marked the anniversary of London's 2017 Grenfell Tower fire, a residential apartment building disaster that killed more than 70 people and injured many others in the city's North Kensington neighborhood. Speaking directly into the camera in a memorial video released by Grenfell United, a group of survivors and victims' family members, Adele says that after four years, "… still, there are so many unanswered questions. Still, the trial has taken way too long, and still, no one has been held accountable for that night's events." The Londoner continues, "Yet, Grenfell United are still out here, fighting tirelessly for the justice and for the change that not only they deserve, that their community deserve, but their whole country deserves. And for that, I'd like to thank you. Thank you for putting your pain aside for all of these years to fight the fight. I can't imagine the kind of personal consequences that has on you. I really hope that this time next year, you will have the answers that you need to finally be able to breathe together." The singer, 33, closes by saying, "I love you. I'll see you soon. Stay strong. We are all with you." Adele has honored the anniversary of the fire each year since it took place, according to Bazaar. She's also visited with the firefighters who put out the flames at the 24-story building.
