The temperature was a bitter -4 degrees Fahrenheit at kickoff — with a wind chill of nearly -30 degrees — as the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Miami Dolphins, winning 26-7, in the NFL teams' playoff game on Jan. 13, and temps dipped even further as the game went on.
Those temperatures shattered the record for the coldest NFL game ever played in Arrowhead Stadium history, breaking the 1-degree record set 40 years earlier in 1983. On top of that, it was the fourth coldest game in NFL history.
It was so cold, in fact, that icicles formed and grew on Chiefs head coach Andy Reid's trademark mustache as the night game went on.
