Lawmakers, politicians, business leaders, Hollywood stars, Olympic athletes and luminaries descended on the White House on April 10 for a stunning state dinner — the theme was "a celebration of spring" — honoring Japan's visiting prime minister.
CBS News reported that guests enjoyed a menu featuring a first course of house-cured salmon; a salad of avocados, red grapefruit, watermelon radish and cucumber; and shiso leaf fritters. The main course was dry-aged rib eye steak with blistered shishito pepper butter, fava beans, morels and cipollini with a sesame oil sabayon. Dessert was salted caramel pistachio cake, a matcha ganache and cherry ice cream with raspberry drizzle.
