In October 2023, Kat Von D revealed that she got baptized and was devoting her life to Jesus after years of practicing witchcraft. The "LA Ink" alum shared a video of her baptism, which was witnessed by friends and her rocker husband, Leafar Seyer, who also goes by the name of his music group, Prayers.
"Katherine von Drachenberg, upon your profession of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in obedience to his divine command, I baptize you, my sister, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit," the pastor said in the video before dunking Kat in holy water.
Although the 41-year-old tattoo artist and makeup mogul received some praise for her spiritual evolution, she still garnered some criticism. The "worst" of it came from Christians — not atheists, she said.

"High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" star Joshua Bassett was baptized in a California megachurch at 22. In February 2023, the actor shared a video from a service at Bethel Church in Redding.
"Long story short, I grew up Christian and I ran the other way, as far as I could go in pursuit of truth and that only ended in addiction, depression, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, et cetera," he told the pastor, "and no other teacher gave me anywhere near the peace that Jesus Christ did." The congregation broke into loud applause.

Jana Kramer's life changed on Jan 23, 2022: She was baptized in a Nashville church. The "One Tree Hill" actress and country music singer, then 38, shared a bevy of images and videos from the ceremony that show her getting very emotional. "This is my battle cry. This is the day I stopped walking alone. The beauty is… I was never alone. He was always walking with me… I just didn't think I deserved that. If I'm honest I didn't know how to trust it or if I could trust it at all," she wrote on Instagram. "Looking up to a 'father figure' with my past was hard to believe or have comfort in. I didn't think he would stay. That he wouldn't hurt me. So I pushed God away for years."
The well-chronicled struggles in her personal life had her seeking answers.
"Last year in the brokenness and quiet moments alone, I realized I wasn't truly alone. That HE was there. That HE never left. God was just waiting for me to come to him. And I have," she wrote on Instagram. "Today I made my faith public and it feels really good to know no matter what happens next on this journey of life, HE is next to me walking with me. God is walking with you too through all the good and bad times, so let HIM in. I hope this encourages someone to take that next step because you aren't alone… 'In the name of Jesus there is healing.'"

Blac Chyna made a lot of changes in her life in 2022 and 2023. Not only did she revert back to her legal name, Angela White, but she also turned to God. In May 2022, the "Rob & Chyna" star was baptized on her 34th birthday in a backyard pool.
She later told DailyMail.com, "I think my baptism on my birthday played a big part. Everything has been kind of trickling down for me and lining up perfectly. Now I'm just going by faith. I'm not even really going by like the Blac Chyna way or the Angela way. Let me just let God lead me."
As for why she turned to religion, the reality TV alum said, "I just got sick and tired of being sick and tired of the same repetitive things. I thought, 'Let me dig deep and see what it is that I'm doing wrong.' Because obviously there's something I'm not doing right, even if I think I am. Now I'm doing the right thing to the best of my ability so I can become whole."
