Rob Kardashian didn't really care what anyone thought of his romance with Blac Chyna — not even his ubiquitous family. On Jan. 27, 2016, still only a few weeks into their relationship, a seemingly-smitten Rob posted a since-deleted picture of his lady love, which he captioned with the key emoji, implying that Chyna is the key to his happiness. At the time, reports ran rampant that his family was less than pleased with the relationship and that Rob was "not welcome" in Khloe Kardashian's home, where he had been living. Chyna, for what it's worth, said at the time that she "loves" his sisters.
Rob Kardashian had become extremely reclusive in the years before he connected with Blac Chyna. In fact, the reality star had not been clearly photographed in close to a year and a half when his girlfriend got arrested for ecstasy possession in Texas on Jan. 29, 2016. What was a smitten boyfriend to do? He hightailed it to Texas, driving 1,300 miles to bring her home after she was released. In doing so, he was photographed for the first time in 20 months.
In July 2016, Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna's social media accounts indicated that there was trouble in paradise for the duo: The reality TV star deleted all traces of his fiancée from his Instagram account and the model went nearly a month without posting about her man on Snapchat. Reports surfaced alleging that the couple were on the outs because Rob discovered suspicious text messages on Chyna's phone, but when the first preview of their docu-series "Rob & Chyna" debuted in mid-August, it was Rob's phone and texting tendencies that were at the center of a massive fight between the pair. The duo seemingly reconciled in early August, but in late September, not long after their show premiered, TMZ reported that they'd actually been "seriously on the outs" for months. People magazine added that though the couple had not technically split, they'd been living almost completely separate lives throughout the summer.
In September 2016, Rob Kardashian tweeted Kylie Jenner's phone number as retribution for a perceived slight over Blac Chyna's baby shower. The trouble started when his sisters decided to throw his-and-hers baby showers for the estranged couple due to the tension between them at the time. Though Chyna was aware of the plan, Rob somehow missed the memo and thought instead that his family intentionally excluded his baby mama from her own shower. "Didn't invite the Mother of my child to a baby shower you all were trying to throw for me ‼️?" he tweeted while sharing Kylie's number. A few days later, Chyna returned the favor by tweeting Rob's phone number. "To ensure your man is not texting no b——, just tweet his number out," she said on Snapchat.
Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna started October 2016 on an upswing. On Oct. 8, the duo took her son King to a fair. Then on Oct. 23, they joined Amber Rose and her son at Disneyland. But the peaceful period was to be short-lived: TMZ reported on Oct. 27 that the LAPD were investigating Rob for allegedly threatening singer Pilot Jones after photos of him making out with Chyna emerged. The model took to Instagram to claim that the photos were actually years old and that they'd been taken to make her pal's boyfriend jealous. But the damage had already been done!
Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna split yet again just before Christmas 2016 after she reportedly assaulted him during a drunken altercation. "She was punching him in his back and arms and was in a drunken rage," a source told E! News, adding that it was Kris Jenner's boyfriend Corey Gamble who broke up the fight "and ripped Chyna off of Rob." Not long after the alleged altercation, a hacker took over the model's Instagram account and shared screen grabs of DMs in which Chyna purportedly called her baby daddy "lazy, fat, insecure" and threatened to leave him after a year of marriage if he didn't get his act together. That same day, the new dad took to Snapchat to accuse Chyna of taking Dream, plus all the furniture from her nursery and King's bedroom, in a plot to abandon him before the holidays. Just minutes after Rob revealed the drama on Snapchat, Chyna took to Instagram to tell her side of the story. In a lengthy post on the photo-sharing platform, she accused Rob of stressing her out throughout her pregnancy, of bombarding her with texts and accusing her of cheating, of verbally abusing her, of texting and calling other women behind her back and of "being an absolute lunatic and then cover[ing] it up with gifts." The drama continued to play out on social media for the next few days.
In early February 2017, the New York Post's Page Six reported that Blac Chyna was spotted cozying up to a mystery man at a Super Bowl party. A few days later, the model was photographed sharing lunch with a male friend, life coach and trainer Jamel Davenport, sans her engagement ring. On Feb. 16, Us Weekly reported that she and Rob Kardashian had broken up yet again. In early March, "ET" reported that the off-and-on couple would not be shooting a second season of their E! series "Rob & Chyna." (For now, at least!)
