While many cities cherish their history, Las Vegas usually blows its up. Hotel implosions are not uncommon in the city — and they're actually quite a spectacle.
On Aug. 16, 2016, the Riviera Hotel & Casino, which stood for 60 years, was imploded. Spectators flocked to the Las Vegas Strip to watch the building crumble (seen here). No city celebrates destruction quite like Las Vegas.
It's been rumored for months that the Tropicana will be the next piece of Vegas history to be imploded to make way for a Major League Baseball stadium. It's very possible that an implosion could happen in 2024.
