Heating up?
During two moments of frustration during the Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves game on May 6, NBA star Jamal Murray threw a towel in the direction of a referee — then followed that up by chucking a heating pad onto the floor during the game.
At the time, the officiating crew didn't see it and nothing happened. However, the incident is now being discussed at length in the sports world, and Jamal could find himself being suspended for potentially endangering other players.

"It's inexcusable and dangerous" —Timberwolves coach Chris Finch

"I feel like he could be suspended for a game. That was an inch away from Karl Anthony-Towns planting his right foot right on that thing. That could have hurt him. He could have been out of the game… I think it was such an immature move by Jamal Murray and it could have been a really hurtful, nasty thing to happen to Karl Anthony-Towns." —Jay Williams via ESPN

"We will have to see what happens. I wasn't aware of that. I knew a heating pack was on the floor, but it was not in my field of vision." —Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone

"He is 100% getting suspended… by the way, he was 3-for-18. I'm not shocked he missed Marc Davis with that heat pack." —Tim Legler via ESPN

"Our sources are telling us that there probably won't be a suspension, but a fine will be levied. I don't think Jamal Murray has the rap sheet to get punished as much." —Pat McAfee

"Jamal Murray, throughout his career, has been class personified. He has never done anything as far as I can remember that he doesn't deserve to be criticized, besmirched or anything in terms of his character as a person, as a man, as a professional. He's never done anything wrong. We're only talking about this incident and what this incident warrants based on its seriousness. If you throw a heating pad on the floor, you've endangered other players." —Stephen A. Smith via ESPN
