The "Trial of the Century" was a ratings bonanza for TV networks in 1995, but newspapers also covered every moment of the O.J. Simpson criminal murder case that year.
After the former football star was acquitted of killing former wife NIcole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, who were brutally butchered in 1994 outside her condo in Los Angeles's Brentwood neighborhood, ink-stained journalists and headline writers rushed to spread the word.
On Oct. 3, 1995, the New York Post published a special edition that screamed the words "Not Guilty!" In smaller print it said, "Jury clears Simpson in murders."

The front page of the Oct. 3, 1995, New York Post said, "The Envelope Please," likening the verdict to an award show reveal. Smaller letters said: "All eyes on O.J. as jury reveals stunning verdict."

One day after the verdict was announced, on Oct. 4, 1995, the Daily News said O.J. Simpson was "HOME FREE." The cover featured an image of the former football star at his Brentwood home alongside his emotional best friend, Al Cowlings.
Al drove O.J. around Los Angeles during the infamous white Bronco freeway chase.
