The sports world is still exhaling from the 10-year, $700 million contract Shohei Ohtani got from the Los Angeles Dodgers in December 2023.
The two-way star — he's pitches and bats, which is unheard of the modern-day game — became the first $700 million player in professional sports history. Of course, that doesn't even include endorsements. Much of the contract will reportedly be deferred, but basic math shows that Shohei will make $70M a year.
