It's the Pop-Tarts origin story we didn't know we needed.
The new movie "Unfrosted" — a comedy co-written and directed by Jerry Seinfeld, who also stars — is loosely based on the true story of the competition between Kellogg's and Post to create a breakfast pastry in the '60s.
The Netflix film — which debuted on May 3 — is chock-full of wackiness as well as a killer cast loaded with A-list comedy stars including not only Seinfeld but also Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Amy Schumer, James Marsden, Jack McBrayer, Thomas Lennon, Bobby Moynihan, Maria Bakalova, Max Greenfield, Bill Burr, Dan Levy, Christian Slater and Hugh Grant.
The logline for the new movie reads like this: "Michigan, 1963. Kellogg's and Post, sworn cereal rivals, race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast forever. A tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar, and menacing milkmen, 'Unfrosted' stars writer-director Jerry Seinfeld."
