Is Donald Trump in for a cruel summer?
Rolling Stone is reporting that the former POTUS and his allies have set their sights on discrediting Taylor Swift because they believe she'll endorse Joe Biden for president. One source said MAGAland is set to declare a "holy war" on the pop star and that Trump is even privately grousing he's "more popular" than her.
Taylor has not publicly endorsed the current commander-in-chief, but it's not far-fetched to believe she will — she did so in 2020. Some right-wing pundits even think Taylor is part of a vast plot that ties in with boyfriend Travis Kelce and Super Bowl LVIII.

"In the annals of historically bad judgement, Donald declaring war on Taylor is right up there with Hitler declaring war on Stalin." —Jon Cryer

"You expect to hear this from a couple of nuts and then it disappears, but if anything it's picking up steam… Let me get this straight. The same people who think that Joe Biden has dementia and needs [Vice President] Kamala Harris to feed him butterscotch tapioca every night also believe that he has somehow planned and executed a diabolically brilliant scheme to fix the NFL playoffs so the biggest pop star in the world could pop up on the JumboTron during the Super Bowl in between a Kia and a Tostitos commercial to hypnotize her 11-year-old fans into voting for Joe Biden. These people think football is fake and wrestling is real." —Jimmy Kimmel

"There's a lot of really weird, lonely, insecure men out there. The fact that the world's biggest pop star is dating a star tight end, who had one of his greatest games ever, and the network puts them on the air briefly, that it bothers you. What does that say about your life? Judge people sometimes on the silly stuff that bothers them. It will tell you a lot about them… This anger, this says nothing about Taylor Swift. It says everything about the men bothered by it." —Colin Cowherd

"Maybe Taylor Swift just bought into all the lies about Republicans that they are racist and sexist and homophobic and xenophobic and transphobic and Islamophobic and they want a total ban on abortion… If she believes all that she is believing a lie." —Sean Hannity

"Taylor Swift should not endorse Biden. She should not endorse any candidate. She should just keep telling young voters that it is important to register, to vote, and to participate in our democracy. With one man/woman and one vote… we can change America. That alone has MAGA trembling in fear," Billy Baldwin wrote on X.
He then added, "OK… clarifying. Of course Taylor does what she wants. I just think it would be super powerful and effective to break voter registration and participation records. She could help Biden do this. That could swing VERY critical districts. House Republicans will try to impeach her."
Billy later penned, "Boy… did that backfire. My bad. Wasn't telling Taylor what to do. Didn't think I was 'mansplaining.' Thought I was suggesting a campaign strategy for Biden that would have Taylor engage and motivate millions of Americans to register, to vote… and help kick Trump's a** on November 5th."
