On Jan. 22, 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court protected a woman's right to have an abortion. In 2022, though, things changed after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade — and five decades of precedent — leaving the legality of abortion to the states, half of which almost immediately eliminated a woman's right to choose. The 5-4 decision was made in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, a case focused on a Mississippi law barring most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy. The SCOTUS ruling was hardly surprising, as the decision was leaked to the press in early May 2022.
Celebrities in Hollywood, in politics and beyond on both sides of the political aisle took to social media after the news broke to share their reactions…
