On Jan. 10, Hunter Biden unexpectedly showed up at a Capitol Hill hearing as House Republicans called to hold him in contempt of Congress. President Joe Biden's son has long said he would happily testify publicly as part of the impeachment inquiry into the president, but Republicans insist that the interview be held in private.
Chaos erupted in the 10 minutes during which Hunter sat in the Oversight Committee's hearing. Nancy Mace said Hunter was exhibiting "white privilege." Hunter and his two attorneys left before Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke, prompting her to call him a "coward." Democrats, meanwhile, pointed to Hunter in the audience and noted that he was ready to testify and wasn't ducking a subpoena. Many pointed out that several House Republicans defied subpoenas when the Jan. 6 Committee wanted them to testify.
