Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at all the stars who had brushes with the law in 2016, starting with Shailene Woodley, who landed in cuffs on Oct. 10 when she was arrested for criminal trespass and "engaging in a riot" while protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline — a controversial construction project that would disturb sacred burial ground at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation — in Sioux County, North Dakota. The "Divergent" star, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges against her, is scheduled to stand trial in January 2017. If she's found guilty, Shai could be sentenced to up to two months in prison and ordered to pay a $3,000 fine. Now keep reading for more!

Police arrested Conor Kennedy, grandson of the late Robert F. Kennedy and former love of Taylor Swift, after he was involved in a fight outside a nightclub in Aspen, Colorado, on Dec. 29. The brawl reportedly broke out when a group of men called one of Conor's pals a homophobic slur. Things escalated after he reportedly asked the men to apologize to his friend. Conor's camp claims that one of the other men took the first swing, but according to People magazine, witnesses reported seeing Conor punch one of the other men in the head four or five times. The duo were rolling around on the ground when officers first attempted to separate them, and Conor was reportedly seen struggling against the officer who tried to restrain him. "Conor has always reacted against bullying," his father, Robert Kennedy Jr., told the Aspen Times. "I'm happy he stood up for his friend." The 22 year old was charged with disorderly conduct and booked at Pitkin County Jail, where he was issued a summons to appear in court on Feb. 22, 2017.

On Jan. 29, police took Blac Chyna into custody for public intoxication at an airport in Austin, Texas, where she was making a connecting flight from Los Angeles to London and reportedly caused a scene while waiting for takeoff. Rob Kardashian's fiancée was escorted off in handcuffs by police, who searched her and found two ecstasy pills in a sunglasses case in her purse. They then arrested Chyna and charged her with third degree felony drug possession in addition to public intoxication.

On Jan. 13, police arrested Nick Carter for one misdemeanor count of battery after he got into a fight with a bouncer at a bar in Key West, Florida. The trouble started when a bartender refused to serve the Backstreet Boy and a male friend, who were already inebriated, and asked them to leave the venue. According to Gossip Cop, Nick's buddy head-butted the manager of the bar while the singer grabbed a bouncer by the throat and punched him. Other employees restrained the duo until the police arrived to arrest them. In July, Nick agreed to a six-figure settlement with the bouncer.
Rosario Dawson was arrested for crowding, obstructing or incommoding after being instructed by law enforcement to disperse when she crossed police lines during the Democracy Spring rally — a non-violent protest of the corruption of big money in politics — at the U.S. Capitol in Washington on April 15. She was ticketed and fined $50 at the scene of the arrest but was not cuffed or removed from the site.
"Fast Times At Ridgemont High" star Judge Reinhold was arrested on Dec. 8 for misdemeanor disorderly conduct after he refused a Transportation Security Administration screening at Dallas Love Field Airport. He later apologized for the incident and said his bizarre behavior was linked to an adverse reaction to medication.
In late November, the Los Angeles County District Attorney charged Anthony Michael Hall with felony battery with serious bodily injury for allegedly beating up his neighbor. According to TMZ, the former Brat Packer broke his neighbor's wrist and hurt the man's back during an altercation at their condo building in Playa del Rey, California, in September. TMZ, who published a video of Anthony allegedly shoving the man, adds that because the alleged crime has special circumstances, the former child star faces seven years in prison if convicted.
In August, Brazilian police officially charged Ryan Lochte with filing a false robbery report during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janiero. The Olympic swimmer claimed earlier that month that he and three teammates were pulled over in a taxi by men impersonating police officers and robbed at gunpoint after a night of hard partying. He then changed his story, alleging that they were robbed at a gas station after they asked a taxi to pull over so that they could use the bathroom. But Rio police sang another tune: They claimed that the Olympians vandalized the bathroom at the gas station and urinated on the building, and that the men who held the swimmers at gunpoint were actually two security guards demanding restitution for the damages they'd caused. According to the AP, the maximum penalty for falsely reporting a crime in Brazil is 18 months in prison. Ryan can be tried in absentia if he fails to return to the country to face the charges against him.
Police arrested Chris Brown on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon at his home in the Los Angeles area on Aug. 30 after they received a call from his alleged victim, onetime beauty queen Baylee Curran, who claimed that the singer pulled a gun on her and kicked her out of his home when she got too close to some of his jewelry. Chris maintains that she made up the story out of spite after he gave her the boot, a claim validated by a text obtained by TMZ in which Baylee allegedly told a pal that she planned to set up the controversial rapper. But the authenticity of the text has yet to be confirmed.
On April 29, a judge issued a bench warrant for Kim Richards' arrest when it appeared as though the former star of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" had not attended AA meetings as part of her plea deal following her arrest for an April 2015 meltdown at a posh Los Angeles hotel. She was previously called to court in February 2016 when it appeared as though she was not performing her court-mandated community service. (Kim claimed that she couldn't do hard labor due to a foot injury, but prosecutors cried foul after they spotted her in high heels at a red carpet event.)
According to ET Online, a judge issued a warrant for Tyga's arrest on Aug. 9 after he failed to appear in court, where he was scheduled to be questioned about his finances after he was ordered to fork over $480,000 to a former landlord for unpaid rent and damages to his onetime home in Malibu. A few days later, the rapper settled with the landlord and the court officially recalled the warrant for his arrest.
Police arrested Stephanie Seymour for DUI in January after she caused an accident on a freeway off-ramp — instead of going forward, she threw her car into reverse and backed into a vehicle that was stopped behind her — in Greenwich, Connecticut. She then refused to take a field sobriety test. According to TMZ, the arresting officer said that the supermodel smelled like alcohol, was unsteady on her feet and had bloodshot eyes.
It was a big year for Katt Williams. On Feb. 28, cops were called when five Atlanta women alleged that the comedian punched one of them and then held them at gunpoint during an altercation. On Feb. 29, he landed behind bars for assaulting a clerk at a pool supply company in Atlanta. On March 1, he reportedly punched someone for making fun of his height — he's being investigated for misdemeanor battery in that incident. On March 6, he was involved in a brawl at the Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia. On March 8, he was arrested when police found marijuana and guns in his Georgia home during a raid as part of an investigation into accusations from one of Katt's bodyguards that he'd had the man attacked with a baseball bat. (According to TMZ, Katt was booked for aggravated assault, terroristic threats and false imprisonment before police added the drugs and weapons charges.) A few weeks later, police issued a warrant for his arrest and charged him with disorderly conduct for fighting with a teenager in Gainesville, Georgia, on March 22. On April 27, Katt was arrested for battery after he allegedly threw a salt shaker at the manager of an Atlanta restaurant. And then in August, the stand-up comedian was charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly punching a woman in Los Angeles in July. Yikes!
Police arrested Debby Ryan for felony DUI in April after she crashed her Audi into another vehicle and subsequently failed a field sobriety test during a night out in Los Angeles. The "Jessie" alum made a plea deal to avoid jail time and the charges against her, which were downgraded from a felony to two misdemeanors, were dropped. She'll serve three years of probation.
On March 9, police arrested Austin "Chumlee" Russell for felony possession of a firearm and felony possession of a controlled substance after they found contraband items in his Las Vegas home as part of a search warrant while investigating sexual assault allegations against him. (Ultimately, there was not enough evidence to charge him with sexual assault.) Investigators reportedly found methamphetamine, marijuana and a dozen guns — only four of which were registered to the "Pawn Stars" personality — in his home. TMZ called the police's findings "consistent with a drug dealer's setup," but Chumlee has denied that he deals drugs. As part of his plea bargain, the felony charges against him will be downgraded to misdemeanors once he completes his probation.
Coolio was arrested after TSA agents found a loaded gun in his backpack during a routine screening at LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Sept. 17. On Oct. 13, the rapper was officially charged with possession of a firearm by a felon with two priors. He was previously convicted of carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle in 2001 and of cocaine possession in 2009. If convicted, he could face up to three years in prison.
According to People.com, police arrested "The Willis Family" patriarch Toby Willis on Sept. 9 for one count of child rape after they learned that he allegedly had sexual encounters with an underage girl between the ages of 3 and 13 in Nashville about 12 years ago. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations reportedly began investigating the former TLC reality TV star and father of 12, who's now 46 years old, on Aug. 29.
In June, a judge sentenced Columbus Short to 30 days behind bars, plus six months in a residential drug treatment program, for violating his parole stemming from a 2014 assault case because he was smoking marijuana and failing to complete any of his court-mandated community service. (According to TMZ, drug tests showed that his THC levels were increasing weekly.) The former "Scandal" star ultimately spent six days behind bars.
Police arrested Abby Wambach for DUI on April 2 after an officer saw her drive through a red light in Portland, Oregon. The retired soccer star and two-time Olympic gold medalist subsequently failed both field sobriety and Breathalyzer tests.
Police arrested "Top Chef" winner Paul Qui and charged him with unlawful restraint and assault causing bodily injury to a family member on March 19 after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Stephanie Rodriguez, during a drug-fueled meltdown at their home in Austin, Texas. Though Stephanie signed an affidavit of non-prosecution, Travis County prosecutors are still pursuing the assault charges against the celebrity chef.
"Fear the Walking Dead" star Frank Dillane landed in jail on May 22 following an altercation with a security guard at the CBS lot in Los Angeles. Things reportedly got physical after a guard attempted to stop the 25-year-old actor from entering the lot, where his show does not shoot. Frank was charged with battery.
Police arrested "The Wire" star Wendell Pierce for battery on May 14 after he allegedly assaulted a woman at a hotel in Atlanta. According to Gossip Cop, a political debate sparked the altercation, during which the actor, a Hillary Clinton supporter, pulled the hair of a female Bernie Sanders supporter before hitting her in the head and following her and her friends to their hotel room, which he attempted to forcibly enter.
In May, Jason Hervey spent two days in a Tennessee jail as part of his sentencing following a January 2015 arrest for DUI, possession of a handgun while under the influence and violation of implied consent for refusing to take a blood test. The onetime star of "The Wonder Years" told TMZ that he'd taken a prescribed Ambien pill before getting behind the wheel to run an errand but that he had not been drinking at the time of the arrest. The former child star reportedly had a permit for the handgun found in his truck, so the weapon charge against him was dropped.
In February, a judge sentenced Meek Mill to six to 12 months of house arrest for violating the terms of his probation stemming from his 2009 arrest for drug and gun charges by skipping town to attend the 2015 American Music Awards. He also reportedly failed a urine test.
In September, Drake Bell spent two days in the Los Angeles County Jail following his December 2015 DUI arrest. (He was previously convicted of his first DUI in 2009.) The "Drake & Josh" alum had been sentenced to 96 hours behind bars but was released early due to good behavior.
Orlando Brown landed behind bars in January after he allegedly hit his girlfriend during a heated argument in the parking lot of a police station in Torrance, California. When police arrested the "That's So Raven" alum, who initially refused to get out of his car, for domestic battery, they also found methamphetamine in his possession. He was ultimately charged with two misdemeanors (domestic battery and obstruction of justice) and two felonies (drug possession with the intent to sell and having contraband while in prison).
In June, a federal judge sentenced Conrad Hilton to two months behind bars after he failed multiple drug tests and got the boot from a substance abuse program as part of his sentencing stemming from two arrests in 2015. He reportedly spent most of June and all of July behind bars.
On Oct. 14, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office booked former "The Young and the Restless" actor Corey Sligh for allegedly molesting a girl under the age of 10 sometime between April and September. According to TMZ, the child's parents reported the incident on Sept. 24. Corey was arrested on Oct. 14 and released on bond later that day.
Don McLean was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence in January after he attacked his wife, Patrisha, at their home in Camden, Maine. In July, the 70-year-old "American Pie" singer-songwriter pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of domestic violence assault, domestic violence criminal threatening, criminal mischief and criminal restraint as part of a plea deal. According to People magazine, the court ordered Don to pay $3,000 in fines, complete a mental health evaluation and avoid all contact with his estranged missus — who has since filed for divorce — for a year. Though he made a deal, the musician maintains that he did not commit the acts Patrisha claims he did.
Police arrested Drita D'Avanzo on Feb. 9 after the reality TV star attacked a neighbor during a heated dispute over a parking spot. The "Mob Wives" alum, who was caught on camera repeatedly punching the woman, was charged with misdemeanor assault, but ultimately, the D.A. declined to prosecute her because, according to TMZ, Drita's neighbor refused to cooperate with the police.
Police arrested Jensen Buchanan for DUI after she caused a car crash in Buellton, California, on May 18. A representative for the California Highway Patrol told "ET" that the "One Life to Live" and "General Hospital" actress caused the wreck when she crossed the double yellow lines and drove her vehicle into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with another car. The other driver reportedly sustained major injuries. In October, the soap star pleaded not guilty to the felony charges against her: two charges of DUI and one of causing great bodily injury.
According to TMZ, police arrested Chris Massey for misdemeanor domestic violence after he allegedly pushed girlfriend Cassalei Jackson to the ground during a heated argument at Marquee Nightclub in Las Vegas on April 10. The "Zoey 101" star reportedly claims that his reality TV star squeeze simply slipped and fell while they were arguing and that security jumped to conclusions. Cassalei did not press charges against her beau.
Police arrested "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" alum James Marchese for felony domestic violence on April 19 after he allegedly grabbed his wife, Amber Marchese, by the throat during a pre-flight altercation aboard a Virgin America flight at LAX Airport in Los Angeles. The duo were removed from the plane in cuffs by LAX Police Department officers, but ultimately, James was not charged due to lack of evidence against him. The couple are now suing the airline for false imprisonment and defamation. They claim they were engaged in flirtatious behavior that a flight attendant misinterpreted before involving the authorities.
Lil Mama was arrested for driving without a license on March 10 after she was pulled over for driving more than 10 miles an hour above the speed limit in New York City. (The rapper's license had previously been revoked.)
Police arrested "Pretty Little Liars" star Brandon Jones on April 14 following two previous incidents during which he allegedly pointed a handgun at a neighbor. In October 2015, he reportedly revealed a handgun during an altercation at his home in North Hills, California. On March 24, the 28-year-old actor allegedly brandished a knife and pointed a handgun at a neighbor. He has been charged with one felony count of assault with a firearm and one misdemeanor count each of exhibiting a deadly weapon and exhibiting a concealable firearm in public. Brandon claimed via a rep to "ET" that the firearm was fully legal and that he felt that he and his girlfriend were under threat when he pulled out the weapon, but he could face more than five years in prison if he's convicted of the charges against him.
According to ET Online, Joshua Allen was convicted in January of a misdemeanor count of willfully injuring his girlfriend. The court issued a protective order prohibiting the winner of the fourth season of "So You Think You Can Dance" from communicating with his ex, but on April 13, he allegedly assaulted and strangled her. Then on June 19, he reportedly attacked her once again, following her into a coffee shop where he allegedly threw a glass vase at a woman and attacked a man who tried to intervene. The professional dancer now faces two felony counts of willfully injuring his girlfriend after a prior conviction and one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon (the glass vase). He's also been charged with two misdemeanor counts of disobeying a domestic relations criminal protective order and one misdemeanor count each of simple battery and vandalism under $400. If convicted, Joshua faces a possible maximum sentence of more than 10 years in prison.
"Trailer Park Boys" star Mike Smith was arrested for domestic battery on April 1 after he allegedly choked a female friend, Georgia Ling, during a heated argument at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. According to TMZ, witnesses called the police after they saw the Canadian actor pin the 21-year-old against a wall — they also allegedly overheard her screaming that he was choking her. But both Mike and Georgia claim there was no wrongdoing on the funnyman's part and that the situation was a misunderstanding, and ultimately, the charges against him were dropped.
Police in Massachusetts investigated "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace" star Ray Park for alleged assault in October after they received a call from a woman who claimed that the erstwhile Darth Maul struck her at the hotel where he was staying during Super Megafest Comic Con. According to TMZ, cops questioned the Scottish actor but did not arrest or detain him. Witnesses said that while Ray may have seemed intoxicated while partying at the hotel bar, he never behaved violently. The investigation is reportedly ongoing.
On Jan. 15, police arrested Rodger Bumpass — the voice of Squidward on "SpongeBob SquarePants" — for DUI after they found him leaning against his car in the middle of the street in a Los Angeles neighborhood. According to the Los Angeles Times, when police approached the voice actor, he attempted to walk away and almost fell. He then failed a field sobriety test. Rodger's blood alcohol content was reportedly more than twice the legal limit.
California Highway Patrol arrested reality TV chef Michael Chiarello on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drug possession in California's Napa County on Nov. 2. A representative for the "Top Chef Masters" alum told "Entertainment Tonight" that Michael plans to dispute the misdemeanor charges filed against him. According to ET Online, the DUI arrest took place just days after the Food Network star settled a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by two former servers at his San Francisco restaurant, Coqueta.
