Italian tennis star Camila Giorgi has quietly and abruptly retired from the sport to reportedly pursue a career as a fashion model. The viral sports star last played a match in March, which saw her losing to Iga Swiatek at the Miami Open. Since then, the Women's Tennis Association "cannot get a hold of her," according to one report.
Italian media outlet Corriere Della Sera said Camila pulled out of tennis' anti-doping program, further cementing her retired status.
Camila, 32, reached the quarter-finals of Wimbledon in 2018 and won four WTA tournaments, but she is more known to some for her Instagram feed, in which she often poses in lingerie, bikinis and fashionable attire.
Media outlet Marca claimed Camila "stands out as a model and aspires to work in the world of fashion."
