Kris Jenner toasts Kourtney Kardashian: 'You taught me how to be a mom'
While Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West treated Kourtney Kardashian's birthday party as a mini-date night, Kourtney's mom, Kris Jenner, was feeling some serious emotional vibes, which she unleashed during a sweet — if smokey — toast. Cig in hand, Kris got candid about what her firstborn means to her in the sweet speech, which Kim shared on Snapchat. "You taught me how to be a mom," Kris tells Kourtney in the clip (via JustJared). "You taught me how to love. You taught me what being a mom is all about and you were the first. You were there first and I love you more than I could ever say. I love you more than life itself. Zayn Malik visits Gigi Hadid's apartment building, sparking reconciliation rumors
A month after Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik called it quits, fans are clamoring for a do-over. The reconciliation buzz comes after Zayn was seen heading into Gigi's apartment building in New York City on Wednesday, April 18. The two reportedly remained close following their split, with Zayn calling Gigi a "friend" in his breakup announcement and a source telling The Sun the two are still "supportive" of each other despite ending things due to conflicting schedules that contributed to their having grown apart. But if Zayn's visit to Gigi's home was simply a "friend zone" situation, it may have been overshadowed by what he said about Gigi in an April 12 interview with Ryan Seacrest. Asked about the song, "Let Me," the singer admitted it was about Gigi. "I was in love — and I think that's pretty evident. I was aspiring to be in love with someone for the rest of my life and the rest of theirs, as we all do," he said, according to Life&Style. "Things change and we move forward in life. Times change, but that's what I was thinking when I wrote it."
Why Evan Rachel Wood turned down a role in 'Mean Girls'
Woops. Turns out Evan Rachel Wood could have been part of Tina Fey's 2004 mega-hit, "Mean Girls." Both Evan and Tina were guests on "The Tonight Show" on Thursday, April 19, and when Jimmy Fallon asked the "Westworld" star if she'd auditioned for "Mean Girls," Evan admitted, "It's even worse, I turned it down." She quickly explained why she declined the role she was offered (she didn't say which character she could have played). "Listen, there's a reason! It's a good reason," she assured the host and audience (via ET). "The only reason is because I was already supposed to do a film called 'Pretty Persuasion' that was set in a high school that was very 'Heathers'-esque, and it was very similar! So, I was already doing that, so I was like, 'I can't!'" Turning to Tina, who was on the show to talk about the "Mean Girls" musical that premiered this month on Broadway, Evan offered, "As long as the next movie you're doing is not about a robot uprising, I will happily [do it]!"
Jaime King wants a felony for man who attacked her car
Jaime King faced off in court this week against the man who allegedly attacked her car and injured her 4-year-old son, James, in the process. Paul Francis Floyd pled not guilty to charges including child endangerment, vandalism and battery. The charges include a mix of misdemeanors and one felony count (for the damage done to the star's Mercedes), and Jamie seems focused on the felony. "The most important thing is that it's not a misdemeanor against my son," she said outside the courtroom, according to TheBlast. He's reportedly due back in court next month.
Bill Cosby's lawyers fail in fifth mistrial request
Bill Cosby's legal team as nixed again this week on what's now been their fifth mistrial request in the comic's felony sexual assault proceedings over a 2004 incident in which Andrea Constand says she was drugged and molested at Cosby's home. Vulture reports the defense asked for the mistrial on grounds the prosecution badgered Marguerite "Margo" Jackson after she took the stand and alleged Constand planned to frame Cosby to get a pay out. Jackson claimed Constand told her about her plan during a Temple University business trip. Constand said she never discussed the case with Jackson, according to Vulture. Lawyers for the prosecution pointed out that Jackson had added details to her story since she first reported it and suggested she'd been coached by the defense. Jackson acknowledged that one of the defense lawyers helped her write her statement about the alleged conversation she had with Constand; the statement reportedly had information about Constand's interest in getting more money out of Cosby (she's already been paid a $3.4 million settlement) that was not in Jackson's initial report. The judge said there were "simply no grounds" for a mistrial. The current court proceedings are a retrial from what was deemed a mistrial last year.
What Anna Faris has learned from her divorce from Chris Pratt
On the heels of Chris Pratt's recent acknowledgement that "divorce sucks," Anna spoke out again about her split from the "Jurassic Park" star, sharing some of what she's learned from the experience with listeners on SiriusXM. "We have a great friendship, we really do and we always have. And it's always tough to envision your future as one thing, but I think there is a lot of love. And in what we do there is so much [unpredictability]," she said on Hits 1, according to E! News. "I think it's a lesson learned a little bit in terms of keeping relationships a little more private, potentially, even though I pride myself on being a pretty open person. But, I don't know, it's tough when you're under the scrutiny," said Anna, who is reportedly dating cinematographer Michael Barrett, whom she met on the set of "Overboard." Anna also opened up about the importance of remaining independent. "I think it means valuing yourself," she said. "I was such an insecure kid that if anybody [was] remotely attractive liked me I was just completely smitten. Like, I can't believe the popular guy likes me. I think my mom was always trying to reiterate: Value yourself, value yourself. We talk about that on the podcast a lot, about how women tend to not have [as] strong egos as men and don't really prioritize themselves." Anna and Chris announced they were separating last August; they have since said they remain friends and are committed to coparenting their 5-year-old son, Jack.
Tom Sizemore settles stunt man injury lawsuit
Tom Sizemore and Paramount Pictures have settled the lawsuit brought against them by a stunt man who was badly injured on the set of "Shooter" when Tom accidentally hit him while driving an SUV as part of a scene. According to the Daily Mail, the settlement was filed March 29 and is expected to be finalized in July. After the incident occurred, the stunt man, Tom De Castro, accused Tom of being intoxicated when he was pinned under the Cadillac and dragged — an allegation Tom denied (he offered to take a urine test to prove his sobriety but producers reportedly did not take him up on the offer). His rep later said the actor had been told to back up in the SUV by a stunt coordinator and that when he followed the instruction, he was not aware the stunt man was behind him.
The Kardashians are closing their Dash stores
The Kardashians are saying "goodbye" to their boutique clothing and accessory chain. In an announcement posted on her app this week, Kim Kardashian West announced that she and her sisters, Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian, have decided the stores' run has come to and end. "After nearly 12 years, my sisters and I have decided to close the doors of our Dash stores," Kim wrote in the post (via Page Six). "We've loved running Dash, but in the last few years we've all grown so much individually. We've been busy running our own brands, as well as being moms and balancing work with our families. We know in our hearts that it's time to move on." She went on to thank the "Dash Dolls," a reference to the employees who starred in a 2015 spin-off series on E!: "We love our Dash Dolls and are so grateful for the amazing memories — and we have to give a special thanks to the Dash employees and all of the incredible fans and customers who have supported us throughout the years! We couldn't have done it without you. Thank you to everyone!" After opening their first Dash store in Calabasas, California, in 2006, the sibs relocated the shop to the West Hollywood section of Los Angeles. They later opened stores in Miami and New York City. The Miami store was vandalized shortly after it opened; the Big Apple boutique only last for a year before being shuttered in 2016.
