Dakota Johnson talks 'Fifty Shades' feud rumors, tensions
Dakota Johnson's real-life relationship with Chris Martin may be off-limits to the general public. But when it comes to feud rumors about her "Fifty Shades of Grey" franchise costar Jamie Dornan, the actress is done keeping quiet. Despite years of rumors to the contrary, Dakota says she and Jamie have always had a great relationship. "There was never a time when we didn't get along," the actress told Vanity Fair in the outlet's summer cover story. "I know it's weird, but he's like a brother to me. I love him so, so, so much. And we were really there for each other. We had to really trust each other and protect each other." That said, there was apparently tension on the set — just not with Jamie. "I signed up to do a very different version of the film we ended up making," she said of the first movie in the series. She specifically clashed with the original author of the "Fifty Shades" books, E.L. (Erika) James, whom Dakota said "had a lot of creative control, all day, every day" on the set. From Dakota's standpoint, "there were parts of the books that just wouldn't work in a movie, like the inner monologue, which was at times incredibly cheesy" and "wouldn't work to say out loud." After admitting it "was always a battle" with Erika — and noting this was the first time she's been totally honest about the "disagreement"-laden experience — Dakota concluded she remains "proud" of the movies. Still, she said, "If I had known at the time that's what it was going to be like, I don't think anyone would've done it. It would've been like, 'Oh, this is psychotic.' But no, I don't regret it."

Dakota Johnson says Chris Martin's blended family, her own upbringing make her protective of their privacy
Five years into her intensely private romance with Coldplay's Chris Martin, Dakota Johnson is shedding new light on the couple's determination to keep their private lives off Hollywood's radar (well, except for the occasional concert serenade). In a new interview for Vanity Fair's July/August 2022 cover, Dakota, 32, says keeping a low profile on their relationship is, in part, a way of protecting Chris' blended family with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he shares two teenage kids. "Maybe I think about relationships like that differently because I grew up in my family. We were all cool," says Dakota, who has seven half siblings through her mom, Melanie Griffith, and dad, Don Johnson. She's also reportedly still close with her former stepdad, Antonio Banderas. "Obviously, there were times where it was not cool, but I experienced that, so I don't want that in my life," she explains. "I don't want any kids to experience anything like that. It's better to be kind, and it's also really nice that everybody actually really loves each other and has each other's backs." That certainly seems to be the case for Gwyneth and Chris' blended family, which includes Gwyneth's husband, Brad Falchuk, and his kids from a previous relationship. "I love her," Gwyneth said of Dakota in a 2020 Harper's Bazaar interview. "I can see how it would seem weird because it's sort of unconventional. But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her."

Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox clarify relationship status after MGK's 'wife' comments
Onstage at the Billboard Music Awards last month, Machine Gun Kelly called fiance Megan Fox his "wife" and dedicated part of the song "Twin Flame" to the couple's "unborn child," sparking a wave of marriage and pregnancy rumors about the couple. That buzz only grew louder when fans noticed the singer again called Megan his "wife" in his new Hulu doc, "Machine Gun Kelly's Life In Pink." MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, finally clarified his and Megan's status at the film's premiere on Monday, June 27. "I think when I speak about terminology — it never felt like my girlfriend," he told Entertainment Tonight. "It feels too adolescent for the depth of our relationship." Megan later joined in the chat and confirmed they have yet to tie the knot. In fact, she said they don't even have an ETA yet. "He's got all the names," she said of his "wife" comments. "No [we aren't married], we don't know what's happening. He's on tour this year, when it needs to happen the universe will open up and give us the space to do that." The pair announced their engagement in January 2022.
Kris Jenner delivers emotional (and tipsy) birthday tribute to Khloe Kardashian
Khloe Kardashian rang in her 38th birthday on Monday, June 27 with some help from her famous family. That included a very tipsy Kris Jenner, whose heartfelt, if slurred, mid-celebration toast to the birthday girl was caught on camera by Kim Kardashian. "I know I'm a little wasted … and a little green, but what I want to say is how much I am so f****** in love with you, Khloe Kardashian," Kris told her daughter in a clip posted to Kim's Instagram Stories (via Page Six). "You are a rock star in my eyes," continued Kris, who was decked out in a bright green caftan and seated beside her boyfriend Corey Gamble at the birthday meal. "You are the queen of our family. You are the person who is always looking at the …" After another giggly and garbled attempt to spit out "glass half full," Kris succeeded, then laughed again. Corey, meanwhile, gracefully removed the martini glass from Kris' hand. "So listen, no, I just want to say how much I love you," she said, welling up. "And I've had way too much to drink tonight, but we're here because we love you. We're here because you make our heart go pit-pat." Other guests spotted in clips from the gathering included Khloe's daughter, True, Kim's kids, Kourtney Kardashian and her children, Rob Kardashian and the b-day gal's best friend, Malika Haqq.
Mandy Moore cancels remaining tour dates to focus on her pregnancy
Mandy Moore has cut her tour plans short to focus on the impending arrival of her second child with husband Taylor Goldsmith. "It is with a heavy heart and much consideration that I have to let you all know that I am cancelling the rest of my show dates in 2022," the singer and actress shared on Instagram on Tuesday, June 28. "It has been an honor and an absolute dream to return to the stage again this past month, performing for all of you," she wrote. "When we booked these shows, I wasn't pregnant and although I truly thought I could power through, the way we are traveling (long hours on the bus and not getting proper rest) has caught up, taken its toll, and made it feel too challenging to proceed. I know that I have to put my family and my health (and the health of my baby) first and the best place for me to be right now is at home." Mandy, 38, and Taylor, 36, welcomed their son Gus in 2021. They're expecting their second baby, also a boy, this fall.
Winona Ryder calls her '90s Hollywood experience 'my Girl, Interrupted' real life'
When Winona Ryder looks back on her Hollywood experience after she and Johnny Depp called off their engagement in 1993, she sees dark days. It was "my 'Girl, Interrupted' real life," the "Stranger Things" star tells Harper Bazaar in its July 2022 cover interview, comparing her mental health state at the time to the characters in her 1999 movie. "I remember Michelle [Pfeiffer] being like, 'This is going to pass.' But I couldn't hear it," Winona recalls of her "Age of Innocence" costar. Even at 50, Winona says she's "never talked about" the intensity of that time, explaining, "there's this part of me that's very private." "I have such, like, a place in my heart for those days. But for someone younger who grew up with social media, it's hard to describe," she muses. Things eventually improved after a therapist encouraged her to picture a younger version of herself. "I was playing this character who ends up getting tortured in a Chilean prison [in 1994's 'The House of the Spirits']. I would look at these fake bruises and cuts on my face [from the shoot], and I would struggle to see myself as this little girl. 'Would you be treating this girl like you're treating yourself?'" she continued. "I remember looking at myself and saying, 'This is what I'm doing to myself inside.' Because I just wasn't taking care of myself," she added. By the early 2000s, Winona said she'd "retreated" from Hollywood and moved to San Francisco. "But I also wasn't getting offers. I think it was a very mutual break," she explained. "It's so interesting when you look at the early aughts. It was a kind of cruel time. There was a lot of meanness out there … And then I remember coming back to L.A. and – it was a rough time. And I didn't know if that part of my life was over." It turned out not to be — Winona returns to the small screen this week in the Season 4 premiere of "Stranger Things."
Bam Margera transfers to new rehab facility after bailing for reasons connected to son
Bam Margera is reportedly safe and back in treatment following his second sudden exit from court-mandated rehab in the past two weeks. On Monday, June 27, police and a "crisis intervention team" that included Bam's parents reportedly found the "J******" alum at a hotel in Deerfield, Florida, after he left the LifeSkills treatment center, according to TMZ. The star was reportedly concerned he wouldn't be able to prove he's a good father from inside rehab, according to a statement his wife, Nicole Boyd Margera, gave the outlet. Bam also wanted to transfer to a different facility, which he was able to do on Monday. "We love Bam, both as a husband and father," Nicole told People through her attorney, David Glass, in a statement published Tuesday. "We pray that he will give it all he has this time at this new rehab facility, so he can complete his treatment and come home to the family that loves him." Her lawyer added that if Bam "can make a firm commitment to seeing his new program through this time, he stands an excellent chance of reuniting with his wife, Nikki and their son Phoenix," and said Nikki "will do whatever it takes to continue to encourage her husband and bolster his spirits to get him to the finish line."
