Birthday madness! Madonna throws down for her twins' birthdays
It's been quite the birthday month for Madonna and her kids! After shuttling everyone to Morocco to celebrate her big 6-0, Madge spent most of the weekend feting the newest additions to her family, Stella and Estere, who just turned 6. In honor of their big milestone, the twins' mom threw a unicorn/pegasus-themed bash, complete with pool floats, streamers, tons of kids and music and a "cake" made out of a pile of donuts, covered in sparklers (proof it's fun to be 6 chez Madonna). Leading up to the party, Madge shared pics and videos of the girls rocking out to Drake with their mom's choreographer, wearing silly light-up "birthday girl" shades and generally looking as adorable and happy as two birthday girls should. "M O N S T E R D O N U T B L O W. O U T!," Madonna captioned a shot of the glazed birthday confection. She added a pile of " 🍩🍩🍩🔥🔥🎉🌈💕💕!" Emojis and the hashtags, "#stella #estere #birthday #fun #donut. 😻😻#weekend @stevenkleinstudio." All good things come to an end, of course. And birthday weekend apparently closed out with Stella and Estere snoozing alongside their dollies in the living room, according to the Daily Mail.

Why Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner waited to announce their baby news
Remember all those months when the world kinda knew Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner were pregnant, but they both seemed determined to keep the news quiet? Well, mystery solved, thanks to the latest "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." In the most recent episode, Khloe says she doesn't know what to do about going public. "I am really anxious to announce my pregnancy, but Kylie's three months ahead of me and I want to give her her own time to shine and let her do her thing. But Kylie keeps going back and forth on whether she will announce," Khloe says (via JustJared). "Waiting is so frustrating because my body is changing and people are super invasive and just not being respectful." That's when Kim Kardashian West jumped in to make sure Kylie knew what was happening. "You know that Khloe is waiting for you to announce since you got pregnant first?" she asks in a confessional. "I don't think I'm ever going to announce," Kylie replies. Kylie later tells Khloe she plans to keep the whole thing to herself and encourages Khloe not to wait for her. "I don't think I'm ever going to announce that I'm pregnant. I just don't want to be in the spotlight, I just want to be low-key," Kylie tells Khloe. "You should go ahead. You don't have to wait for me, you should announce — it's exciting for you too!" In December of last year, Khloe followed her sister's advice and confirmed her news. her daughter, True was born in April, while Kylie waited until February to let the world know she'd become a mom to her daughter, Stormi.

Christina Aguilera didn't appreciate being 'pitted' against Britney Spears
Looking back nearly two decades at the moment when Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears' collaborative introduction of Whitney Houston at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, it's easy to see the similarities their stylists were going for with their looks, which had zero natural vibes. At 37, Christina's done plenty of growing up — and it shows, both in her music and in the fresh, clean and natural way she presents herself on the cover of her eighth studio album, "Liberation." "I still love getting glammed up, but I want to show imperfections on this go-round. It's scary, but I'm up for the challenge," the singer says in Cosmopolitan's October cover story. "You can't tell me something I haven't already heard about myself anyway." She recalls how the albums she released in the early 2000s, "Stripped" and "Dirrty," came with more creative control. But the industry didn't necessarily get it — nor were they always kind about the black-dyed hair and piercings she paired with the music back then. "It's hard to hear yourself being called names. I remember being hurt by these commercials on MTV, pitting [Britney Spears] as the good girl and me as the bad girl. It's like, if I'm going to be demure and innocent, that's OK. But if I'm going to just be myself, I'm trouble," she says, adding that she doesn't regret the artistic choices she's made. "I love the female body, and I think it's something to be proud of, not something that men should dictate ownership of. 'Dirrty' was extremely controversial at the time, but it would be nothing now," she says. "I hope I paved the way and helped set the ground rules that women can be any version of themselves they wanna be … and proud of it." Christina's Liberation Tour hits the road this fall, beginning in Hollywood, Fla., on Sept. 25.
Rihanna catches up with her parents in rare family photo
Before she returns to the U.S. to prep for her Diamond Ball charity event on Sept. 13, Rihanna's spending some time with her folks and other loved ones in the Caribbean. The singer recently traveled to what fans believe was Cuba to work on a project titled "Guava Island" with Childish Gambino, who will perform at this year's Diamond Ball. This week, she seems to have done some island hopping over to her native Barbados. She shared a handful of photos on Instagram, including a pair of glowing, makeup-free pics, from her family hangs this week. This one, which shows Riri hugging her mom, Monika, and father, Ronald, tight, she captioned simply, "home." TMZ point out it wasn't long ago that the singer told Oprah Winfrey about the troubled nature of her relationship with her dad, who abused her mom when she was growing up. She connected her own experience being beaten by — and eventually forgiving — Chris Brown to coming to terms with the different treatment her father afforded her and her mother.
Inside Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's Casper Smart-adjacent dinner date
Celebs hoping to avoid their exes — or anyone else in Hollywood, for that matter — mostly know enough to avoid a spot like Craig's for dinner. So when Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez met up there for a meal on Monday, Aug. 27, chances are they weren't concerned about who they might bump into. And that's a good thing, because Jennifer's longtime on-off beau, Casper Smart, showed up solo that evening. We're guessing Casper's appearance didn't create much tension, though. After all, the dancer and choreographer remains tight with Jennifer's other ex, Marc Anthony, whom Casper befriended during his relationship with J.Lo, according to The Blast.
Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna are still fighting her ex on defamation claims
It's starting to seem like Rob Kardashian and Black Chyna's entire relationship is playing out in the Los Angeles County court system. The former couples finally settled their protracted custody battle over their daughter, Dream, but they have another case hanging over their heads — and they're on the same side in this one. In 2017, Chyna's ex-boyfriend, Pilot Jones filed suit against the pair, alleging cyberbullying and defamation. According to The Blast, Pilot claimed Rob and Chyna "exposed him" as bisexual and leaked his private phone number as what Pilot seems to see as a revenge mission against him. Pilot says that the two revealed his sexuality and contact information after a photo surfaced that showed him making out with Chyna. Pilot says they accused him of having sold the pic and that as a result of his number becoming public along with information about his sexual preferences, he started getting "threatening messages" and eventually tried to kill himself. He has denied leaking the make-out photo. The case is now being held up, to Pilot's chagrin, because Rob has filed documents saying he was never served papers for the suit. Rob says that because of this, the case must not proceed,The Blast reports. In a response to Rob's filing, Pilot says after trying to serve Rob at his old house, he went to a business address for Rob, where an authorized receptionist accepted the papers on Rob's behalf. Rob and Chyna have not yet responded.
Warren Beatty set to be a pallbearer at John McCain's memorial
Since Sen. John McCain died over the weekend after losing his battle with brain cancer, many have praised the late Republican's belief that certain issues demand a non-partisan approach in U.S. politics. As HuffPo reminds us, McCain had a similar outlook on friendships, as does his longtime pal, Warren Beatty, who will be among the pallbearers at McCain's memorial service in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Sept. 1. As Beatty put it in a piece in the Atlantic in 2008: "I think I've made it clear that I'm a liberal Democrat … I consider my friendships to be friendships. Let me say this a better way. I don't think that political ideology is necessarily germane to friendships." McCain will be buried on Sunday, Sept. 2, in Annapolis, Maryland.

Roseanne Barr thanks John Goodman for defending her
"I thank John Goodman for speaking truth about me, despite facing certain peril from producers and network." So said a grateful Roseanne Barr on Twitter on Monday, Aug. 27, after her former costar said in an interview he "was surprised at the response" to Roseanne's now infamous tweet in which she compared Valerie Jarrett to an ape. "And that's probably all I should say about it," John continued (via Us Weekly). "I know, I know, for a fact that she's not a racist." He said they two haven't been in contact because Roseanne "had to sign a paper saying that she relinquished all her rights to the show so that we could go on," adding, "I sent her an email and thanked her for that. I did not hear anything back, but she was going through hell at the time. And she's still going through hell."
