Jason Sudeikis breaks silence on Olivia Wilde split as 'Ted Lasso' makes Emmy history with 20 nominations
Jason Sudeikis is opening up for the first time about his split from Olivia Wilde, the mother of his two kids and his partner of more than seven years. Though they've both moved on with new romances — Olivia's dating singer-actor Harry Styles, while Jason's seeing model-actress Keeley Hazell — the "Ted Lasso" star is still working out how he and his former fiancée came to the end of their road as a couple. "I'll have a better understanding of why in a year, and an even better one in two, and an even greater one in five," the 45-year-old "Saturday Night Live" alum tells GQ in its August cover story, which came out on July 13. "And it'll go from being, you know, a book of my life to becoming a chapter to a paragraph to a line to a word to a doodle." Jason also confirmed that he and Olivia, 37, split in November 2020, which clarifies some of the timeline chatter that surfaced about their breakup when Olivia and Harry were photographed holding hands in early January. "That's an experience that you either learn from or make excuses about," he said of the split. "You take some responsibility for it, hold yourself accountable for what you do, but then also endeavor to learn something beyond the obvious from it." Looking back on the past year, he acknowledged it had been tough, but implied the he's facing the challenges it's brought head-on. "I think if you have the opportunity to hit rock bottom, however you define that, you can become 412 bones or land like an Avenger," Jason explained. "I personally have chosen to land like an Avenger." That Avenger-esque landing, by the way, is coming along quite nicely — on the same day the GQ interview hit the internet, Jason's hit Apple TV+ show, "Ted Lasso," snagged 20 Emmy nominations, a new Emmys record for a freshman comedy.

Wedding rumors hit Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker
Did Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker just tie the knot in Las Vegas? It sure looked that way to fans on Instagram this week after Kourtney's hair stylist, Glen Coco, shared photos from the couple's Sin City trip. The pics show Kourtney and Travis looking at each other flirtatiously in what appears to be a hotel hallway as Travis covers up Kourtney's left ring finger with his hand. "…NOWWW I understand why ppl tie the knot in Vegas. There's nothing like love AND a good time," Glen captioned the post, tacking on a chapel emoji and a black heart. Social media chatter about Kourtney and Travis' status began to build in earnest when the blink-182 drummer's daughter, Alabama, shared one of the photos on her Instagram Story with the caption, "so happy for you guys." Eventually the pics popped up on Kourtney's Instagram Story too. The Poosh creator didn't divulge any details about the Sin City trip, though; she simply shared Alabama's post and added a heart. But a July 13 report from The Sun seemed to quash the Vegas wedding rumors. "Kourtney and Travis never filed for a marriage license here," a source at the Marriage License Bureau in Clark County, Nevada, told the outlet. "They would have had to have come into this office in person and we would have noticed them." The pair would also have been required to use their full legal names, the source said. But the chatter didn't die down as fans continued to speculate after, late on July 13, Kourtney posted another photo on her Instagram Story showing a vase filled with dozens of white roses — a gift from sister Khloe Kardashian — which she captioned, "omg came home to this."

Rihanna spent much of the weekend in New York City shooting what appeared to be a music video with her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky. It's unclear if the project marks the end of the singer and fashion entrepreneur's new music dry spell — but maybe she'll dish on the details to her new tenant. According to the New York Post, Rihanna's looking to rent out one of the two mansions she owns in the Beverly Hills Post Office section of Los Angeles — for $80,000 a month. Rih just bought the $13.8 million home, along with the property next door, in 2020. It features five bedrooms and seven baths, some of which have views of Coldwater Canyon below, as well as French white oak hardwood floors and an open floor plan layout around a courtyard in the middle of the property. The courtyard, meanwhile, includes a terrace, swimming pool, spa, cabana and firepit. Inside, two living areas offer luxe fireplace viewing, while the main suit upstairs comes with a huge walk-in closet and a terrace of the bathroom. There's also a gym, a media room and a guesthouse on the grounds.

Oprah Winfrey's bombshell interview special with Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan netted her the eighth Primetime Emmy nomination of her career on July 13. Per ET, "Oprah With Meghan And Harry: A CBS Primetime Special," which more than 49.1 million viewers watched the night it landed on CBS in March, is up for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special at the 2021 awards ceremony on Sept. 18. But it was a fictionalized — if equally controversial — royal story that helped lead this year's pool of nominees. "The Crown," now in its fourth season, earned 24 nominations, including Best Drama. Both Olivia Coleman (Queen Elizabeth) and Emma Corrin (Princess Diana) are up for Best Actress, as well. "The Crown" shares the 24-nominations honor with "The Mandalorian."
Paris Hilton to launch Netflix cooking show ahead of wedding docuseries
Nearly two decades after Paris Hilton cooked bacon and quesadillas with a pair of actual irons on Season 4 of "The Simple Life," she's returning to the small screen with a pair of new shows. The hotel heiress and her kitchen arrive on Netflix on Aug. 4 in "Cooking With Paris," which the streamer (via Variety) says will show the world Paris' "very newly domesticated side" — presumably, the one she adopted after getting engaged to Carter Reum — as she attempts culinary feats like learning "to sauté, sear and zest," while decked out in various pieces from her "glam kitchen wardrobe." The bride-to-be's "culinary expertise (or lack thereof)" will apparently be featured alongside visits from her famous friends. Paris is also working on a 13-episode reality show for Peacock about her wedding, including the planning phase, the bachelorette party and the actual ceremony. Announced earlier this year, "Paris in Love" may or may not feature a whole lot of footage of the groom, who, as of May, was basically not on board with the plan to document their milestone moment. "He doesn't like the camera," Paris told "Extra" at the time. "He doesn't do red carpets, doesn't do interviews." Sounds like this engagement is off to a great start …
'Bachelorette' contestant apologizes for resurfaced offensive tweets
Season 17 of "The Bachelorette" has barely begun and there's already a potential scandal brewing. On July 12, contestant Justin Glaze apologized on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast for racist and homophobic tweets he posted between 2009 and 2011. Now 27, Justin was a teenager when he made the comments, which he said were the result of wanting to "fit in" with his peers. "… I have no issue with owning up and apologizing from the bottom of my heart for the really hurtful words that I used," he said on this week's podcast, according to Fox. "The last thing that I want to do is run from it," Glaze continued. "… When I look back at 14-year-old Justin, I was in high school and quite frankly I was the type of person who for whatever reason felt the need to fit in and say funny things and keep up with what my peers were doing and saying. The folks I had associated with would throw around really hurtful slurs that, at the time, I didn't really think anything of." The investment banker added that he doesn't want to be defended for his "ignorant and hurtful" remarks at the time, because "no matter how long ago it was, those words shouldn't have come out of my mouth." Bachelorette Katie Thurston has not yet addressed the resurfaced tweets on the show.
Emma Bunton marries partner of 21 years in surprise wedding
If it's true that the best things come to those who wait, then Emma Bunton and her partner of 21 years, Jade Jones, have a pretty amazing marriage to look forward to. The Spice Girl got engaged to Jade back in 2006, about eight years into their relationship. They went on to welcome two sons, Beau, 13, and Tate, 10, but never followed through with the wedding … until now. On July 13, Emma revealed the two had quietly the knot, sharing photos from the big day on her Instagram. In pics from the ceremony, the singer, 45, wears a white mini-wedding gown with a gauzy train and a crown of flowers. Her groom looks dapper in a khaki and brown ensemble that included a Gucci blazer and brown fedora. "Mr and Mrs Jones! ❤️❤️❤️❤️," she captioned the post. Former Spice Girls Victoria Beckham, Mel B and Mel C all chimed in in the comments to show their support. "Congratulations! Love u both so much!!" Victoria wrote. Scarlett Johansson dishes on her 'weird' pandemic wedding with Colin Jost
For Scarlett Johansson, marrying Colin Jost during the COVID-19 pandemic was a mix of "weird" and "beautiful" — and a little "stressful." The "Black Widow" star dished on the small October 2020 ceremony at her home in Palisades, New York, during a remote appearance on "Late Night With Seth Meyers" on July 12, where she admitted getting hitched at that time made for some less-than-ideal circumstances. "Obviously we wanted to take all the precautions that we could, so we had the masks … and everybody had to get [COVID-19] tests like 100,000 times," she shared. Scarlett and Colin also gave guests a pandemic-ready gift — a face mask emblazoned with "Jost 2020." "I mean, it's just weird," she said. "Looking back at the photos — it definitely was a weird party favor that could only happen now, but you just gotta go with it. … Even though it was small and intimate, it was beautiful and we were so happy to see people that we hadn't seen in such a long time.," she said of the event, whose guest list was limited to the couple's immediate family and loved ones. "We just felt very fortunate to be able to get together like that," she added. "It felt like it was sort of how it was supposed to be … minus face masks." The couple announced their wedding news via Meals on Wheels last fall, asking would-be wedding gift givers to consider donating to the organization instead in order to support "vulnerable older adults during this difficult time."
Olivia Rodrigo to meet with President Biden, Anthony Fauci
Olivia Rodrigo is headed to the White House — and she's on a mission. The "Drivers License" singer and recent high school grad revealed she plans to visit 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. on July 14 as part of President Joe Biden's effort to raise awareness about lagging rates of COVID-19 vaccinations among adults aged 18 to 24. Olivia, 18, teamed up with the president for a promo post on Instagram one day before her visit, chiming in on a photo he shared of his younger self alongside the caption, "I know this young person would've gotten vaccinated, but we've got to get other young people protected as well. Who's willing to help?" Olivia was the first to reply, commenting, "I'm in! see you tomorrow at the white house." The singer's expected to meet with the president and Dr. Anthony Fauci and shoot a handful of videos in which she answers fans' questions about the vaccines and encourages people under 30 to get the potentially life-saving jab, according to NBC News. As of July, people who have not been vaccinated represent more than 99 percent of deaths from COVID-19.
