Wonderwall.com rounded up several recent examples of how stars are nothing like us, starting with this whopper… For the second leg of their summer family vacation — which was characterized by some media outlets as a last-ditch effort to save their marriage — Kim Kardashian West and husband Kanye West took their four kids "glamping" in Colorado. But on Aug. 15, 2020, TMZ reported that the vacay was more glam than camp: The power couple reportedly vacationed at the Dunton River Camp resort in the San Juan Mountains. But they didn't just book a suite or a cabin. No, they booked the entire 500-acre former cattle ranch, which goes for $43,000 per night. Apparently, the trip paid off: The duo are reportedly "in a better place" following the super-expensive getaway. Now keep reading for more star extravagances…

Celebrity's best friend? On Aug. 8, 2020, WSLS Channel 10 news in Lynchburg, Virginia, reported that a 6-year-old cat named Dennis Quaid was up for adoption at a local shelter after waiting for more than a year to find his "furever" home. Somehow, Emmy nominee Dennis Quaid caught wind of his namesake and stepped in to save the feline, helping him score a true Hollywood ending. After meeting on Zoom, the actor officially adopted the little black cat. He then sent his co-host from his "The Pet Show" podcast to Virginia to retrieve their new four-legged friend — who's now a "studio cat" living in the offices of his human's podcast production company in Los Angeles. On Aug. 17, the "Frequency" star took to Instagram to share a video of the kitty following his "epic cross country voyage" from Virginia to his new home in L.A.

On Aug. 14, 2020, TMZ reported that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez dropped a whopping $40 million on a waterfront estate on Miami's Star Island. According to the webloid, the 40,000-square-foot property features 10 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a pool, an elevator, a wine room, a library and an industrial-style chef's kitchen. The power couple already owns another Miami home in a different neighborhood, but why settle for just one?!

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that hit the Internet on Aug. 13, 2020, Annabelle Wallis revealed one of Tom Cruise's oddest diva demands: She said that getting to "run on-screen" with him in 2017's "The Mummy" was "better than an Oscar" because the A-list actor typically doesn't allow co-stars to be seen running alongside him in his movies. "He told me no at first. He said, 'Nobody runs on-screen [with me],' and I said, 'But I'm a really good runner,'" she recalled. "So I would time my treadmill so that he'd walk in and see me run. And then he added all these running scenes. So that was it. It was, like, better than an Oscar. I was so happy! I was so happy that I got to run on-screen with Tom Cruise." Who needs an Academy Award anyways?!
On July 24, 2020, DailyMail.com reported that Kylie Jenner recently dropped $200,000 on a 17-year-old pony named Frozen from the Netherlands for her 2-year-old daughter, Stormi Webster. She likely paid another $7,000 to $10,000 to ship the equine to the United States. The breeder describes Frozen as "the most famous pony of them all," adding on Instagram that the makeup mogul "made sure her daughter had the most precious pony out there." It's unlikely, however, that little Stormi will be riding Frozen anytime soon: The British webloid notes that he's "large for a first pony and unusually advanced for a beginner's ride." So, totally worth it!
In other celebs-in-sports news… In late July 2020, multiple media outlets reported that a group of famous women are teaming up to bring a National Women's Soccer League team to Los Angeles. Investors in the new Angel City team include Natalie Portman, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Chastain, Eva Longoria, America Ferrera, Uzo Aduba, Lilly Singh, Serena Williams … and the tennis champ's 2-year-old daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. According to Yahoo! Sports, the tot is now the youngest owner in professional sports. Would you expect anything less from the offspring of one of the world's all-time greatest athletes?!
On Aug. 17, 2020, Bloomberg reported that Ryan Reynolds signed a jaw-dropping $610 million deal to sell his Aviation Gin brand to Diageo — the owner of Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker and Casamigos, among many other major booze labels. The actor will reportedly pocket $335 million now and as much as $275 million over the course of the next decade based on how well the popular gin continues to sell.
On Aug. 14, 2020, TMZ revealed the terms of Ewan McGregor's divorce settlement with his ex-wife, Eve Mavrakis. The biggest shocker? The actor is walking away from the marriage with an astonishing 30 vehicles — THIRTY! — while his former missus is holding onto five more vehicles. We just have one question: Does the "Star Wars" alum have a garage or a warehouse for all those rides?!
In other car news… On Aug. 10, 2020, TMZ reported that after just 1,000 miles, Sylvester Stallone is selling the custom Cadillac Escalade he bought for $408,000 in mid-2019. According to the webloid, the A-lister ordered more than $136,000 in enhancements to the luxury whip from Becker Automotive Design: The stretched SUV features a 43-inch UHD LCD smart TV built into the electric center divider partition, rear 12-inch LCD screens for rear-facing passengers, two SIM cards from different carriers to provide Internet access, electric curtains, two fully electric rear bucket seats, electric leg rests and seats with built-in massagers and thermoelectric cool and heat functions. He's asking $350,000 or best offer for the ride, for which he says he no longer has a "requirement."
On July 27, 2020, Megan Thee Stallion took to Instagram to show off some super-impressive neckwear: an enormous diamond-encrusted necklace reading "hot girl" that she first debuted back in March. (At the time, she said that the bling was her birthday present to herself, though she was never seen wearing the impressive piece after that.) On July 28, Us Weekly reported that New York City-based jeweler Elliot Eliantte designed the custom 155-carat necklace, which took six months to create and is worth $425,000.
In other Megan Thee Stallion news… On Aug. 17, 2020, the "Savage" chart-topper took to Instagram to share a photo of a special gift from her "WAP" collaborator Cardi B: a custom Birkin bag featuring artwork inspired by the music video for their record-breaking track. New Birkins, by the way, cost anywhere from $12,000 to $200,000 — and that's before the custom artwork. DJ Duffey put it perfectly in the comments section, writing, "Wowww u know u got money when u paint on a Birkin." Indeed!
In early August 2020, Nev Schulman tipped nearly a grand on a bill of just $61 to a pregnant waitress at the Smash Burger at the Denver International Airport in Colorado. The waitress told Denver7 News that the "Catfish" host asked when she was due, and when she replied Sept. 26, he told her that's his birthday and promptly left her a $926 tip in honor of the date, writing on the receipt, "Congrats on your baby girl! Fingers crossed for 9/26." Said the overjoyed expectant mom, "It means the world to my baby and my family. … It means rent or it means her crib or her stroller is paid for. It makes me so emotional that something like that is taken care of and I don't have to worry about it."

The singer took to Facebook on Aug. 6, 2020, to explain what happened: Two years ago — when he first bought his 30-acre property, which is surrounded by 3,000 acres of wilderness — he went out exploring with some friends. After a few hours, the sun set, it started raining and the temperature dropped to 40 degrees. Suddenly, they were lost. While they were able to look up GPS with the one working phone they had between them, the directions kept pointing them to "cliffs that you can't drive a four wheeler down." That's when the story turns from strange to scary: They managed to call some friends for help, but while the second group was driving around looking for them, "they start getting shot at" — purportedly by a privacy-loving neighbor. Wrote Kane, "My buddy's girl who has asthma started then freaking out. We HAD to get her out. So we call the cops." With the help of the authorities, everyone made it home safely. The chart-topper concluded by joking that he likes the version of the story where he got "lost in my backyard better."
Martha Stewart practically broke the Internet when she took to Instagram on July 21, 2020, to share a glamorous selfie from her swimming pool in East Hampton — a photo she later described as "definitely a thirst trap." And, boy, did the iconic 79-year-old lifestyle guru trap! The following week, she told E!'s "Daily Pop" that she received 14 proposals "the first day" she posted the now-viral glam shot. When the rest of us post a sultry selfie, we get a few likes. When Martha Stewart posts a sultry selfie, she gets multiple marriage proposals — and she's pushing 80!
Now for some deep-pocket news we can really get behind: On Aug. 12, 2020, TMZ reported that The Weeknd made a very charitable donation of $300,000 to Global Aid for Lebanon, an organization that aims to provide vital aid to individuals affected by the tragic explosion that rocked Beirut on Aug. 4. Funds will be distributed between the Lebanese Red Cross, the United Nations World Food Programme and the Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon.
In other Beirut explosion donation news… On Aug. 12, 2020, Russell Crowe confirmed rumors that he made a donation of $5,000 — a third of the original goal — to a GoFundMe campaign dedicated to restoring the Beirut-based restaurant Le Chef. The Australian actor tweeted that he made the donation "on behalf of Anthony Bourdain," who featured the eatery on a 2006 episode of his Travel Channel show "No Reservations." Wrote the Oscar winner of his late friend, "I thought that he would have probably done so if he was still around. I wish you and LeChef the best and hope things can be put back together soon."
And finally, People magazine reported on Aug. 6, 2020, that George Clooney and wife Amal Clooney, who was born in Beirut, are donating $100,000 to Lebanese charities. "We're both deeply concerned for the people of Beirut and the devastation they've faced in the last few days," the couple said in a statement. "Three charitable organizations we've found are providing essential relief on the ground: the Lebanese Red Cross, Impact Lebanon and Baytna Baytak. We will be donating $100,000 to these charities and hope that others will help in any way they can."
