Kim Cattrall 'likes' tweets about her absence from 'Sex and the City' reboot
With "And Just Like That…" now streaming on HBO Max, Kim Cattrall — who played Samantha Jones in the original series but very publicly declined to be part of the "Sex and the City" reboot — has taken note of Twitter reactions to her absence in recent days. Over the weekend, Page Six spotted Kim's "like" on a tweet from a publicist who featured "Kim Cattrall not being in the SATC reboot" in a list of "pop culture news items" she's "over." Kim also gave her stamp of approval on a jokey tweet that read, "Kim Cattrall didn't return to SATC because her scatting career is finally taking off," as well as a post addressed to her in which a self-described fan praised her "for making choices that are right for you," even as her character's name is being invoked on the new show. Minor spoiler ahead here … In the first episode of "And Just Like That…," we discover Samantha has left the proverbial building by taking a new job in London — a move Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) believes was in response to her firing Samantha as her publicist. In real life, meanwhile, Kim's reboot opt-out escalated a long and well-documented feud between the two.

Machine Gun Kelly recalls taking a movie role because Megan Fox would be in his scene
The romance between Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly may have been organic, but MGK knew what he was doing when he said yes to a role in the couple's film "Midnight in the Switchgrass." Asked how they met during a recent appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show," the musician told Drew he said yes to the project simply because he'd get to work with Megan. "We were filming … which ironically the only reason I took the movie was because they were like, 'Your scene is with Megan Fox,' and I was like, 'I'll take the movie,'" he admitted, according to People. "I stayed outside the trailer, and my gut is always right and I'm grateful for it because for some reason I knew she would invite me for lunch." Right on time, he said, someone approached him with a message: "Megan wants to know if you want to have lunch in her trailer." He said "absolutely," joined her in the trailer and the sparks apparently started to fly. "I went in there and she said, 'How do you feel?' And I said, 'I'm lost,' " he continued. "She said, 'Let's find you.' And I was like … it killed me. She was cupid." The stars went public with their relationship in November 2020.

Kim Kardashian says she's passed the 'baby bar' on fourth attempt
Kim Kardashian West is celebrating a major milestone in her journey to become a lawyer. On Dec. 13, the SKIMS creator announced that after failing the "baby bar" exam repeatedly while studying law via an apprenticeship, she has finally passed. In a long Instagram post — accompanied by photos of herself posing in a slinky, bright blue Balenciaga gown with a giant train — Kim explained what she'd been through leading up to her passing grade on the test, which is given to first-year law students who are not studying at State Bar-accredited schools and is notoriously hard to pass. "Looking in the mirror, I am really proud of the woman looking back today in the reflection," Kim wrote. "For anyone who doesn't know my law school journey, know this wasn't easy or handed to me. I failed this exam 3 times in 2 years, but I got back up each time and studied harder and tried again until I did it!!! (I did have COVID on the 3rd try w a 104 fever but I'm not making excuses)," she joked. Explaining how "top lawyers" warned against the "impossible journey" of not studying at a traditional law school, Kim said that "it was my only option and it feels so so sooooo good to be here and on my way to achieving my goals." She went on to thank the attorneys she's apprenticed with since 2018 and others, including her father, Robert Kardashian, who was also a lawyer and "would be so proud" to see her progress. "Bottom line is don't ever give up even when you are holding on by a thread, you can do it!!!!!" Kim added at the end, urging followers, "Set your mind to it and get it done because it feels soooooo good once you get to the other side!"

Armie Hammer checks out of treatment center
Armie Hammer has checked out of the treatment facility where he sought help for drug, alcohol and sex addictions this past spring "and is doing great." That's according to his attorney, who confirmed the actor's departure from the facility in a report published by People on Dec. 13. The update comes as Armie, 35, was accused of sexually assaulting multiple previous partners, including one woman who alleges the actor "violently raped" her, rendering her afraid for her life. Armie has denied all the allegations, including the rape claim, which his lawyer described in a statement to People as having been "completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory." Despite his denials, Armie lost multiple reps and movie roles as a result of the allegations. Although the lawyer did not clarify when Armie wrapped up his treatment, TMZ reported in mid-October that he remained at the same Florida facility he checked into some six months earlier.

Snoop Dogg reveals 2022 Golden Globe nominations, nominees largely silent on social media
On Dec. 13, Snoop Dogg announced the nominees for the 2022 Golden Globes to a response of … well, crickets, mostly. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which votes on and stages the annual awards show, has been mired in controversy ever since the Los Angeles Times revealed in February that it had no Black members in its ranks of 87 voters. It wasn't a great look for an awards show that seemed to routinely overlook the performances of people of color in its nomination and winner choices. The organization has since announced major changes to address its diversity problem, including the addition of six new members who are Black (out of 21 new members, total). But a host of stars and media groups had already vowed not to work with the Globes until the organization could prove progress had been made. NBC, which previously aired the ceremony, was among them and won't air the show this year, leaving it without a broadcast plan. As for the nominees — most if not all of whom had not acknowledged their nods on social media hours after Snoop's announcement — "The Power of the Dog" and "Belfast" snagged seven nominations apiece. In the TV series department, "Succession" topped the list with five nods, while "Ted Lasso" and "The Morning Show" each scored four. The best actress nominees for 2022 are Lady Gaga, Kristen Stewart, Nicole Kidman, Olivia Colman and Jessica Chastain. The best actor contenders list is more diverse, with Denzel Washington, Mahershala Ali and Will Smith joining Javier Bardem and Benedict Cumberbatch. The 2022 Golden Globe Awards are scheduled to take place on Jan. 9, the same date as the 2022 Critics Choice Awards.
Megan Thee Stallion honored with Houston Humanitarian Award
Megan Thee Stallion is officially a college grad — she's also a humanitarian hero in her hometown of Houston. The rapper, 26, graduated from Texas Southern University with a degree in health administration on Dec. 11. The next day, Houston Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee presented her with the 18th Congressional District's Humanitarian Award, according to ABC 13. While presenting Megan's award, the congresswoman explained that it's reserved for those who "exhibit humanity" and have "helped without asking," noting that the honor "has not been given out often, or to many." Megan's recent philanthropy in H-town has included a six-figure donation to the nonprofit Houston Random Acts of Kindness, as well as her efforts to rebuild and repair homes for single moms and the elderly in Houston after the historic deep freeze hit the region last winter. Citing her "responsibility to take care of the city that took care of me," Meg dedicated her award to her grandmother, who she said "taught me how to be the woman that I am today." In closing, the star added that while she's grateful for the "recognition," she finds "much greater pride in knowing that I used my voice and resources to put smiles on people's faces and make a meaningful difference in Houston."
Dr. Oz to end long-running talk show, focus on Senate campaign
As Mehmet Oz turns his attention to Senate campaign in Pennsylvania, the controversial celebrity doctor's TV show will come to an end after 13 seasons. According to an announcement from Sony, via The Wrap, "The Dr. Oz Show" airs its last installment of the long-running health and wellness talk show on Jan. 14, 2022. In its place, the network will premiere "The Good Taste" featuring Mehmet's daughter, Daphne Oz, along with "Top Chef" judge Gail Simmons and chef Jamika Pessoa, who previously won "Next Food Star." Mehmet, who's faced criticism from medical professionals for promoting potentially dangerous and unproven treatments, said in his campaign run announcement that he was inspired to seek office because of the government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which he claimed "patronized" the public. Daphne's "The Good Taste" premieres Jan. 17.
Will Travis Scott headline Coachella after Astroworld tragedy?
In the wake of crowd chaos that killed 10 and injured hundreds at Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival on Nov. 5, the rapper has reportedly been nixed from his headlining slot at the 2022 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The station KESQ in Palm Springs, California, was first to report the lineup change after a Change.org petition garnered thousands of signatures supporting Travis' removal from the bill. While reps for Travis and Coachella have yet to confirm the report, sources recently told Variety the festival has already communicated with Travis' agent about its rumored plan to replace the rapper. If true, the cancelation could be devastating for Travis, who's already had other business deals and partnerships scrapped amid fallout from Astroworld. Travis is currently facing hundreds of lawsuits, along with Astroworld producers Live Nation and Drake.
