Backlash over emu
Bindi Irwin has been able to avoid Twitter's ire throughout most of her life, but that all changed after she responded to a plea from the owner of a famous emu. Emmanuel Todd Lopez — the bird's full name — has gained TikTok fame for constantly interrupting his owner's videos. Last week, Taylor Blake, who runs Knuckle Bump Farms in South Florida, revealed that the farm was struck with the deadly avian flu. All but two of her birds died. Emmanuel, she said, was alive but sick, leading Taylor to reach out to Bindi, who lives and works at her family's Australia Zoo, in "total desperation." "I need help saving my emu, Emmanuel," Taylor wrote on Oct. 17. "I will pay to fly anyone to us, if they can help, no questions asked." Soon after, Bindi shard "love and light" to Taylor, but said she couldn't help. The 24-year-old claimed the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital has treated emus but none with that disease. "We will need to rely on our fellow animal experts with more experience with this avian flu," she continued. "Our hearts are with you and we appreciate that you care so deeply and have such compassion for darling Emmanuel. We believe that all of us need to have love for each and every individual animal." Soon after, Twitter erupted and slammed Bindi. "What a pathetic, useless reply," one Twitter user wrote. "Zero effort to help when you are in a supposedly unique position to use your influence and contacts to actually help her." Another was critical of Bindi's "empty words." Another wondered, "So you don't know of anyone in your network who could help? One would assume it wouldn't be hard for you to ask around or spread the word in the hopes someone with the right experience comes forward."

L.A. meeting, Ye discussion
Kim Kardashian and Ivanka Trump reconnected on Sunday, Oct. 23, during a three-hour dinner at one of Los Angeles's poshest places. But the topic of conversation at the Polo Lounge wasn't breezy, but rather Yeezy. TMZ reported that Kim spoke of her concern about her ex-husband's recent (and admittedly racist) anti-Semitic statements, noting she's worried their children might hear them or repeat them. (Kim's children have Jewish cousins.) Ivanka, who's Jewish, and Kim have been close for several years. Similarly, Ivanka's father, Donald Trump, and Kanye are friendly. In a move that was clearly not a coincidence, much of the Kar-Jenner clan including Kim, Khloe Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kris Jenner all publicly came out in solidarity with the Jewish community on Oct. 24. Back to IvanKim: There is some speculation that the women's meeting was a bit of a birthday celebration — Kim turned 42 on Oct. 21, whereas Ivanka turns 41 on Oct. 30.

He spent how much?
Matthew Perry thinks he's spent more than $9 million to get sober, having been to rehab 15 times to work on his drug and alcohol addictions. In chatting with The New York Times, the "Friends" alum said he's 18 months sober. "I've probably spent $9 million or something trying to get sober," he estimated. While aware that he has financial resources others don't, Matthew said he doesn't have the "gift of anonymity," meaning his addictions become front-page news. In that same interview, Matthew recalled being taken to rehab immediately after his "Friends" character, Chandler Bing, married Monica Gellar, who was played by Courteney Cox. "[I was] at the height of my highest point in 'Friends,' the highest point in my career, the iconic moment on the iconic show," he said. As soon as the filming of the episode wrapped, the actor was "driven back to the treatment center … in a pickup truck helmed by a sober technician."

Bidding Blue
Blue Ivy Carter is not like us. JAY-Z and Beyonce's 10-year-old daughter took part in an auction at the Wearable Art Gala on Oct. 22, and she actually made a high-five-figure bid! The tot — who's already won a Grammy — eyeballed a pair of diamond earrings and tossed in a bid of $80,000! Someone with deeper pockets than the elementary schooler outbid her. The earrings eventually went for $105,000. No word if Jay and Bey's daughter was feeling Blue after the auction KO.
Catfight followed by mea culpa
We have ourselves a generational feud. Well, we did. Cardi B slammed Madonna on Oct. 23 after the Material Girl suggested that she paved the way for women to be more sex-positive. She specifically named Cardi B, Kim Kardashian and Miley Cyrus. And she added a clown emoji. Madge's message didn't sit right with the "WAP" singer. "I literally payed [sic] this woman homage so many times cause I grew up listening to her …she can make her point without putting clown emojis and getting slick out the mouth," Cardi wrote in a since-deleted tweet, according to Page Six. "These icons really become disappointments once u make it in the industry that's why I keep to myself." Cardi later retweeted several anti-Madonna messages. However, the two women seemed to squash their beef later. "I talked to Madonna …It was beautiful," Cardi said. "Have a great day and drive safely yallll." Madonna also wrote, "I love you @iamcardib !! Always have and always will." All's well that ends well.
High return reasoning
Vanessa Hudgens is detailing why she made a nostalgic return to East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, which was the setting of the High School Musical musicals. Back in June, the actress posted a photo outside the school, which sent social media into a tailspin. In a chat with EW, she explained, "My boyfriend [Cole Tucker] was playing in Salt Lake. He's a baseball player [for the Arizona Diamondbacks]. So he was at the field and I had rented a car and I was like, 'I want to go check it out and take some pictures for old time's sake.'" Just a month later, Vanessa's ex and fellow "High School Musical" star Zac Efron made the trip to East High. "What can I say," she said. "I'm a trendsetter."
Denial
Travis Scott is denying that he cheated on Kylie Jenner with a rumored ex. Over the weekend of Oct. 22 and 23, Rojean Kar posted a video that seemed to show her on a video set with the rapper. Upon seeing this, Travis took to Instagram to rip Rojean and claim he doesn't even know her, which would imply that they never dated. "An uninvited person was sneaking photos on what was supposed to be a closed set while I was directing a video," Travis wrote. "I'm saying this for the last time. I don't know this person. I've never been with this person." He then pleaded with Rojean to "stop with the continuous cyber games and the fictional story telling."
