Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in mid-August 2022, starting with this couple… On Aug. 22, DailyMail.com reported that Jared Kushner claims in his new book, "Breaking History," that Billy Joel and Bono played a role in his reconciliation with Ivanka Trump after he dumped her in 2008 — three years into their relationship — because she wasn't Jewish. They reconnected several months later when their mutual friend Wendi Deng — Rupert Murdoch's third wife — invited them both (plus the "Piano Man" singer-songwriter) on a weeklong Mediterranean cruise. Jared shares a highlight from the trip: During "lunch at Bono's house in the town of Eze on the French Riviera," Billy played piano while Bono and Bob Geldof sang together. Ivanka eventually converted to Judaism and learned how to cook to "make our Friday nights together even more special," Jared writes. He goes on to detail their engagement: Jared visited Ivanka's father, Donald Trump, at Trump Tower to ask for permission to propose. Although he told his future father-in-law that he planned "a surprise engagement," the former "The Apprentice" star immediately "alerted Ivana that she should expect an imminent proposal." Jared then took Ivanka to see "Wicked" on Broadway while his brother — model Karlie Kloss's husband, Joshua Kushner — scattered rose petals and lit candles at his apartment, where he popped the question. At another point in his memoir, Jared details his first date with his future wife, which started as a business meeting while they were serving as attachés for their fathers. "Ivanka was not what I expected," he writes. "In addition to being arrestingly beautiful, which I knew before we met, she was warm, funny and brilliant. She has a big heart and a tremendous zest for exploring new things." He concludes by noting that their time in the White House brought them "closer together." Says Jared, "There's no way I could have survived my four years in Washington without Ivanka, my best friend and partner."

On the Aug. 24 episode of Kate Casey's "Reality Life" podcast, Brittany's Snow's husband of two years, Tyler Stanaland, revealed that his "Selling the OC" co-star Kayla Cardona has tried to kiss him multiple times. "One night, Kayla did try and kiss me. And then it happened another night as well," he said, adding that "out of respect" for his colleague, he's tried to "minimize it and brush past it so that there isn't drama." (Cameras were not rolling when she allegedly came on to him.) "But that was something where I had to kind of set some hard lines and some boundaries and reconsider the social environment a bit. Nothing happened. It was just … something that, you know, you don't do to somebody who is married," he continued, adding that Kayla's actions crossed a line. As for the "Pitch Perfect" actress, "My wife and I are very strong. We communicate. And there's no issue between us," Tyler said.

In mid-August, The Sun reported that Gérard Pique is dating a 23-year-old public relations student named Clara Chia Marti who works for his production company. According to the British tabloid, they've been an item for at least "the past few months" — since before the soccer star and former long-term partner Shakira announced that they were separating amid rumors that she caught him cheating. (There's no evidence that Gérard and Clara took their relationship to the next level before he and the Grammy winner called it quits.) "They have been keeping quiet about their relationship but those around them all know what is happening. People have been helping him keep the romance hush-hush and have wiped Clara's social media accounts so people can't find photos of her. That alone makes his mates think he is actually quite serious about being with her," said a source. On Aug. 21, "Socialité" published a video of Gérard and Clara — who's half Shakira's age — dancing together and making out at a Spanish music festival. According to the Spanish entertainment news outlet, Shakira was "very angry" to see the professional athlete out and about with his new love as she'd made a pact with him to keep any new relationships under wraps for a full year following their split.

On Aug. 24, multiple media outlets reported that — just three months after they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary — Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin are throwing in the towel. The former model reportedly filed for divorce in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Aug. 19, noting in her legal paperwork that the marriage is "irretrievably broken." ("I'm sad to announce that after 25 years of marriage I have filed for divorce from my husband Sylvester Stallone. While we will no longer be married, I will always cherish the more than 30-year relationship that we shared, and I know we are both committed to our beautiful daughters," she confirmed in a statement to People magazine. Sly, meanwhile, said in a statement, "I love my family. We are amicably and privately addressing these personal issues.") In her divorce filing, the mother of three requested exclusive access to their home in Florida and accused the actor of engaging in "the intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets which has had an adverse economic impact on the marital estate." She then asked the court to block him from making further changes to their martial estate until after their assets have been equitably distributed between them — and after she's been "compensated and made whole" for the assets Sly allegedly took amid their breakup. There'd been recent signs that there was trouble in paradise. On Aug. 10, for example, Jennifer raised eyebrows when she took to Instagram to cryptically caption a photo of herself and the three daughters she shares with Sly, "These girls are my priority. Nothing else matters. The four of us forever." Not long after that, the Oscar nominee had a giant tattoo of Jennifer on his shoulder covered up with a portrait of his beloved late bullmastiff Butkus, who co-starred with him in "Rocky." His rep insisted to DailyMail.com that the actor-filmmaker simply "intended to refresh the tattoo image of his wife" but "the results were unsatisfactory and, unfortunately, unfixable" so "he had to cover the original image." The rep added that "Mr. Stallone loves his family."

On Aug. 24, Page Six reported that, according to a source, Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin appeared "so happy" together in recent weeks, and the actor was "blindsided" when she suddenly filed for divorce on Aug. 19. "You couldn't think of a nicer couple. … . It sounded like everything was great," said one source, adding that the former model recently visited the Oscar nominee on the Oklahoma City set of his upcoming Paramount+ series "Tulsa King." Another source said of Jennifer's allegations that Sly intentionally depleted their marital assets, "It's so ridiculous. … It's just a pure lie." Said a third source, "Sylvester's intent was to work things out with Jennifer. Now I don't know [what will happen] because she decided to go public with everything." TMZ, meanwhile, reported that Jennifer decided to throw in the towel after a disagreement over Sly's new dog snowballed into a much greater argument. According to the webloid, Sly wanted to get a new Rottweiler for protection, and although Jennifer firmly objected, he ultimately acquired the pooch. The ensuing argument reportedly "brought up other issues" in the marriage, although those issues did not appear to be dealbreakers at the time. TMZ notes that Sly was shocked when Jennifer pulled the plug because he thought they'd be able to work through their issues. He later told TMZ that his dog did not play a role in the breakup: "We did not end the relationship on such a trivial argument. We just went in different directions. I have the highest respect for Jennifer. I will always love her. She's an amazing woman. She's the nicest human being I've ever met," he said, doubling down on his previous claims that he covered up the tattoo of Jennifer on his arm when it was ruined during a touch-up. He also said that he still has a large tattoo of his estranged missus on his back.

On Aug. 21, Deux Moi reported that, according to an anonymous source, Julianne Hough and long-term pal Ben Barnes could be seen holding hands during a recent performance of "Into the Woods" on Broadway. The following day, Life & Style reported that, after years of rumors about the nature of their relationship, the duo finally took their relationship to the next level earlier this year. "Their friendship has gravitated into a full-blown romance. … They've officially been an item for two months and he has been flying to and from L.A. to be with her in New York. When they're not together, they FaceTime every day. They're so adorable together. Everything about the relationship is so easy and Julianne can be her true self with him. She's never been happier," said a source. The "Dancing With the Stars" alum and the English actor — who starred as Prince Caspian in two "The Chronicles of Narnia" movies and recently starred on "Westworld," "The Punisher" and "Shadow and Bone" — first sparked romance rumors in early 2020 amid a rough patch in her marriage with Brooks Laich. As for the other man to whom Julianne was linked in the wake of her split from the former hockey star… Life & Style reported that, according to a source, she and male model Charlie Wilson called it quits "a few months ago" because although "they were physically attracted to each other," they "didn't gel emotionally." The insider also described the romance as a "total rebound fling" for Julianne following her breakup from Brooks.

During an interview with Variety that debuted online on Aug. 24, Olivia Wilde shed some light on the not-so-nice circumstances that led to her 2020 split from Jason Sudeikis. While reflecting on her former fiancé's apparent decision to serve her with legal documents pertaining to the custody of their two children as she was presenting her upcoming film "Don't Worry Darling" in front of thousands of entertainment professionals at CinemaCon in April, the actress-filmmaker said, "It was my workplace. In any other workplace, it would be seen as an attack. It was really upsetting. It shouldn't have been able to happen. There was a huge breach in security, which is really scary. [There were] hurdles that you had to jump through to get into that room. … This was something that required forethought. … I hated that this nastiness distracted from the work of so many different people and the studio that I was up there representing. To try to sabotage that was really vicious. But I had a job to do; I'm not easily distracted. But, you know, sadly, it was not something that was entirely surprising to me. I mean, there's a reason I left that relationship." Yeesh! (The "Saturday Night Live" alum has insisted he had no idea when or where his ex would be served.) As for her relationship with Harry Styles, Olivia told Variety she was "not going to say anything about it." But the actress-filmmaker then added, "We both go out of our way to protect our relationship; I think it's out of experience, but also just out of deep love." Hear that? She said deep love!

Congratulations are in order! As Channing Tatum and Zoe Kravitz celebrate their first anniversary of taking their friendship to the next level, People magazine reported on Aug. 24 that, according to a source, they're "very happy" together. "Their careers are a big focus and they share this passion. When they are off, they are very low-key. They enjoy quiet date nights with friends but most often just hang out at home," said the source, adding that the "Magic Mike" star is "serious" about the singer-actress. "It's not a casual relationship. They have been exclusive for a long time," noted the insider. Echoed a second People source, "The romantic relationship is quite intense and positive for both of them. … Zoe sees the depth of character and a hidden maturity [in Channing], a person who thinks quite a bit. She is impressed with all of that. They have enormous respect for each other above and beyond the romantic attraction."

Just as the rumor mill went into overdrive, a few "Stranger Things" superfans stepped in to set the record straight: In early August, Charlie and Natalia were photographed celebrating together at the pretty blonde's wedding. But that's not all! The mystery woman's husband was also on hand when she and Charlie were photographed looking cozy together at the concert. In fact, both couples have been photographed together several times over the years. So there you have it, "Stranger Things" fans — rest easy: The mystery woman isn't a mystery at all!

The reality star went on to note that she "would love to date" sometime "down the road." Said the mother of six, "Love the idea of the end having a romantic partner. But I talked to [my youngest child] about it the other day and she's like, 'Mom, I really like our life how it is now.' … I'm just going to let fate take care of that one."
