The cast an crew of "Mission: Impossible" are now expected to get back to work thanks to a green light from the British government, which is also allowing certain actors and crew members, including Cruise, to enter the U.K. without going into a two-week quarantine. The stipulation only grants such access for those working specifically on British film and TV projects. "We want the industry to bounce back and exempting small numbers of essential cast and crew from quarantine is part of our continued commitment to getting cameras rolling safely again," said Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden, according to the Mail. Those who qualify for the exemption will be required to live and work in what the Mail called "bubbled environments" during their stay. Cruise's latest installment of the Ethan Hunt franchise is slated for a November 2021 release.

Director David Ayer responds to 'brownface' complaints about Shia LaBeouf in 'The Tax Collector'

Shia LaBeouf's new movie, "The Tax Collector," isn't due out until August, but armchair critics already have issues with the trailer. Over the weekend, some Twitter users slammed the star for playing a crime boss in the world of Hispanic Latin gangs in "brownface," while others complained that the role shouldn't have gone to a white actor. "It's so sad we don't have enough Chicano actors who were in the gang life for roles like this. Thank God for that little white boy stepping in and saving the day," wrote one sarcastic user (via Page Six). "Oh hey, another movie w/ Latinos and Blacks in glorified gang culture on steroids that reinforces stereotypes & fears for white folks & promotes the cop mentality that 'it's a battlefield out there,'" tweeted another. "Sigh…..Hollywood, come on. We don't need this right now." Responding to the criticism, director David Ayer spoke up to say LeBeouf is "playing a whiteboy who grew up in the hood" in his film. For weeks, Instagram accounts like @DietPrada have alleged Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner failed to pay garment workers making their Kendall + Kylie products at Global Brands Group (GBG) factories in Bangladesh early on in the pandemic. The accusations appear to have come from GBG's use of the Kendall + Kylie logo in the "brands" section of its website. According to a statement from Kendall and Kylie themselves, however, their eponymous brand is owned by Canada Inc., not GBG, and they don't even manufacture anything in Bangladesh. "We would like to address the unfortunate and incorrect rumor that Global Brands Group owns the Kendall + Kylie brand and that we have neglected to pay factory workers in Bangladesh as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic," the Jenners said in a statement posted to their feed (via Cosmopolitan). "This is untrue. The Kendall + Kylie brand is owned by 3072541 Canada Inc., not GBG. The brand has worked with CAA-GBG in the past in a sales and business development capacity only." The sisters added: "We know these are trying times for the fashion industry and garment workers as a whole, and we continue to support all of our partners working in factories who produce our products. We manufacture in countries all over the world and have not received any concerns from the factories who produce our goods."
