Prince Harry's former aunt, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, has weighed in on his plans to publish a memoir after speaking out about tensions within the royal family. In a new interview with ET, Fergie — who was married to Prince Andrew from 1986 until 1996 and released her first romance novel, "Her Heart for a Compass," on Aug. 3 — praised both Harry and wife Duchess Meghan's forays into book publishing. "I think the fact that Meghan's written a children's book ["The Bench," which came out in June] is really good, well done her, because anyone that sits there writing a book, it's really hard," said Fergie, who's written many children's books over the years. "With Harry, I think he's got a lot to say and, really, I think [his late mother, Princess] Diana would be really proud of her sons, and their wives and the [grandkids]. And he's such a good boy, you know, I think in life there's no question that there's far too [much] judgment and there should be more compassion and support in every way on everybody," she added. "My mission statement of my charity is no race, creed, color or any other denomination — we stand together and we fight for the right for a child to dare to dream." Harry's publisher, Penguin Random House, in July announced that the Duke of Sussex will in late 2022 release a memoir that is the "definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses and life lessons that have helped shape him." The book will presumably cover his decision to leave his post as a senior member of Britain's royal family. Fergie's latest book, meanwhile, centers around a young woman in British society in 1820 who's facing an arranged "society" marriage before she "flees." Sarah admitted to People magazine that her experience of marrying into the royal family influenced aspects of "Her Heart for a Compass."

Jennifer Aniston envies J.Lo's red-carpet skills

Jennifer Aniston is the first to admit she's "an easy laugh," especially when it comes to her own gaffes or silly moments — like what happens when she's forced to strike a pose on a red carpet. While "The Morning Show" star, 52, leans on her appreciation of "off-color humor and self-deprecation and humanity" to get through those times, she tells InStyle there's one celeb whose power-poses never cease to amaze her. "Your stylist [goes], 'Never do this! Always do this!' I'm like, 'Well, that feels weird.' I don't know how to stand on a red carpet, but you do the best you can," Jen says, adding that she tries "to connect" with photographers, since she's known some of them for years and having "an honest interaction" with those folks can make the whole situation easier. "You know who I think masters the red carpet? J.Lo. I want to know what gives her the look like she's about to be seething. It's amazing," the actress marvels. "She's almost stuck getting mad at somebody, but she's just so gorgeous. She's like, 'I can't believe I'm standing here.' But I don't think she's trying; she fell out of bed that way. She's a performer." "The Morning Show" returns to Apple TV+ for its second season on Sept. 17.

Surprise! John Corbett and Bo Derek are married

After two decades together, John Corbett and Bo Derek finally took the plunge and said "I do." John, 60, revealed he and Bo, 64, were married during a chat with the hosts of "The Talk" on Aug. 3, according to ET. "Around Christmas time we got married. Bo and I got married," John said to new host Jerry O'Connell, showing off his wedding band. "We got married. And this is probably the first time — we're pretty private people. We didn't make an announcement. All our friends and family knew," said the "Sex and the City" alum. "But this is the first time either one of us has said anything publicly about it because really, we haven't had an opportunity. So, you're my buddy, and now I guess I'm telling all of America or the world. And yeah, after 20 years we decided to get married." John's currently set to reprise his role as Carrie Bradshaw's on-off love, Aidan, in the upcoming "SATC" reboot, "And Just Like That …"

Simone Biles reflects on winning the bronze, reveals aunt's unexpected death

After struggling with a mental health issue and withdrawing from last week's events, Simone Biles returned to the Olympics on Aug. 2 to compete in the independent balance beam final, where she won the bronze. It was the 24-year-old champion's seventh Olympic medal, and as she told Hoda Kotb on the "Today" show after the event, that bronze holds extra special meaning. "It means more than all of the golds because I pushed through so much the last five years and the last week while I've even been here," she explained. In addition to battling what gymnasts call "the twisties" — a state of mind in which athletes lose their ability to judge where they are in the air, making it extremely dangerous to flip or twist — Simone revealed after her beam routine that her aunt had "unexpectedly passed" away two days earlier. While managing her grief, Simone also had to deal with misperceptions about what she was going through prior to withdrawing from the other events. On "Today," she expressed frustration that anyone believed there was "no risk" involved in competing with the twisties. "The girls saw me in training, my coaches saw me in training," she said. "… Like, I physically couldn't do it safely, and it was because I was getting so lost in the air. It wasn't an easy decision so it hurts that people were like 'oh she quit.' I worked five years for that, why would I quit? … I just don't quit, that's not what I do." She added that she knows it "was hard" for some to understand that her injury was not visible, and that she would normally "push things under the rug," but she couldn't this time. "Before team finals, the girls were terrified for me and they've never really been scared," she said. "At the end of the day we're not just athletes or entertainment, we're human too. We have real emotions and sometimes they don't realize that we have things going on behind the scenes that affect us whenever we go out and compete."

Jenna Dewan says Channing Tatum 'wasn't available' for weeks after their daughter's birth

For Jenna Dewan, the experience of welcoming her son Callum in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic was much less stressful than what she went through after giving birth to her daughter, Everly, in 2013. That's in part because with Everly, she was juggling work, travel and a newborn — without her husband at the time, Channing Tatum, who was often unavailable because of his own work schedule. "I had to travel with [Everly] and at the time, Chan wasn't available to be with us for the most part. So, it was me, my doula, and Evie all by ourselves traveling at six weeks," Jenna recalled on the "Dear Gabby" podcast this week (via People). Stuck on set for long hours," Jenna said, "I did have [Evie] on set with me constantly. It was just really difficult." It didn't help matters that she also suffered from "a lot of postpartum anxiety" after her daughter's birth. "It was like, I just never stopped. You know, you're up a couple times in the night and then you're working all day," she explained. "I was breastfeeding, I was pumping, I was without a partner, I mean it was just craziness." By contrast, she said she felt "so grounded" in the weeks after she and her fiance, Steve Kazee, welcomed their son Callum. "Even though the world was crazy, I was home and in this love nest and it was different," she added.

'Queer Eye' star Tan France is a dad!

"Queer Eye" star Tan France and his husband Rob France revealed on Aug. 2 that they've welcomed their first child. "Give our son a warm welcome. Ismail France, born July 10th," Tan shared on Instagram alongside a photo of the newly expanded family. "He came 7 weeks early, so he's been in the NICU for the past 3 weeks. But, today, we finally got to bring him home," Tan continued. "We love him so, so much. Like, fully obsessed. Our Surrogate is doing so great, post labor, and we couldn't be more grateful for the greatest gift in our lives." Tan and Rob, a pediatric nurse and illustrator, announced in April that they were expecting. The couple has said they hope to have six children someday. "I feel privileged to be in a position where I get to talk about what I want to do," Tan told the Associated Press in 2018. "And if I want to have children, I want to talk about it and nobody can say it's wrong and get away with it."

DaBaby apologizes (again) for anti-gay remarks amid more festival date cancelations

Another one bites the dust. Rapper DaBaby has been pulled from the lineup at this year's Austin City Limits festival as fallout continues from his homophobic remarks at Miami's Rolling Loud in July. "DaBaby will no longer be performing at Austin City Limits Music Festival — lineup update coming soon," read an Aug. 3 social media post from ACL. The cancelation comes after DaBaby lost his slots at Lollapalooza, Governor's Ball and Day N Vegas — and on the heels of his second apology for an onstage rant in which he said offensive things about the gay community and spread misinformation about people living with H.I.V. and AIDS. After explaining, "… knowing what I needed was education in these topics and guidance has been challenging …," the rapper said on Instagram that some people had "reached out … privately" to help him understand why what he'd said was wrong. He then wrote: "I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important." In a video released after Rolling Loud, DaBaby seemed to challenge his detractors by including a message that read, "Don't Fight Hate With Hate. My apologies for being me the same way you want the freedom to be you."

Sean Combs finally explains that J.Lo throwback pic

Back in May, as the world learned Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck had rekindled their early-aughts romance, Sean Combs got nostalgic (or was that sarcastic?) about his own relationship with J.Lo, which ended a few months before the singer met Ben. Sean — who now goes by the nickname "Love" — posted a throwback pic of him and Jennifer in 2000, when they were still an item. His caption was innocent — "#tbt" — but plenty of commenters also suggested the Bad Boy Records founder was either trolling Ben or genuinely interested in pursuing another relationship with Jennifer. "Love" never explained the post — and he's since deleted it. But in a new cover story for Vanity Fair, he says he and J.Lo are still pals. According to the writer, Love "says that it was just a throwback post from a great time in his life." Pressed for more, the rapper and music mogul adds, "It wasn't no trolling involved, that's just my friend. And I don't have nothing to say about her relationship or her life." He also said he's pretty sure only his ex Kim Porter, who died unexpectedly in 2018, could have ever inspired him to settle down and get married.
