Paul McCartney blames John Lennon for Beatles' split
For decades, Paul McCartney has often played the scapegoat in stories about the breakup of the Beatles in 1970. But as Paul says on an upcoming episode of the BBC's interview series "This Cultural Life," it was John Lennon who "instigated" the Fab Four's split. Asked about his decision to launch a solo career, Paul, 79, tells the interviewer, "Stop right there," per The Guardian. "I am not the person who instigated the split. Oh no, no, no. John walked into a room one day and said I am leaving the Beatles. Is that instigating the split, or not?" The singer adds that John told the group he found the announcement "quite thrilling," and said, "it's rather like a divorce," while Paul wanted to continue working with the Beatles, as they constituted both his "job" and his "life." But ultimately, Paul says he and his bandmates, Ringo Starr and George Harrison, "were left to pick up the pieces," which took a months. According to Paul, the group's then-new manager urged the musicians not to disclose their breakup plans until he'd wrapped up a few last deals for them. "So for a few months we had to pretend," Paul says. "It was weird because we all knew it was the end of the Beatles but we couldn't just walk away." Months passed, he recalls, and he finally got "fed up with hiding" the news, so he announced that the band was no more in 1970. The interview also features Paul's take on Yoko Ono's role in the band's life — and he's clear that he doesn't blame her for their demise. "They were a great couple," he says of John and Yoko. "There was huge strength there." Paul's interview airs on BBC Radio 4 on Oct. 23.

Machine Gun Kelly seems to be hatching a revenge plan after catching his buddy, Pete Davidson's impression of the singer on "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend. The LOL-worthy faux cameo — complete with a scantily clad Chloe Fineman as MGK's girlfriend, Megan Fox — came during "The People's Kourt," a skit starring host Kim Kardashian West as a courtroom judge version of her sister, Kourtney Kardashian. Dressed in head-to-toe white, Pete's MGK mostly stood stock still with a dazed look on his face while uttering the occasional "uh" to "Megan" as she pawed his chest while spouting out disconnected words and phrases about their love like "viral," "toxic" and our personal favorite, "twin flames." The day after the show aired, MGK shared a clip of the impression and tagged "Saturday Night Live" on Twitter, writing, "I think it's time for me to come on the show as Pete @nbcsnl."

Megan Fox gets candid about her 'deep insecurities'
In a new, joint interview with her boyfriend and "Midnight in the Switchgrass" costar, Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Fox reveals she suffers from body dysmorphic disorder. According to WebMD, "BDD" is mental health condition "in which a person is preoccupied with an imagined physical defect or a minor defect that others often cannot see." That often leads those who suffer from the disorder to avoid social situations for fear they'll be judged on the appearance they believe to be "ugly." Speaking to British GQ, Megan, 35, opens up about "the work" she did to make peace with early criticism of her acting skills, saying she'd gotten to the point where she was "never leaving the house" and had to do a lot of spirituality reading and meditation "to make sense of" how she was perceived early on in her career. When the journalist implies Megan may have been criticized at that time because men found her beauty and intelligence "intimidating," she points out that the way someone looks doesn't necessarily tell us anything about them. "We may look at somebody and think, 'That person's so beautiful. Their life must be so easy,'" she says. "They most likely don't feel that way about themselves.'" Asked if that's how she feels about herself privately, Megan replies, "Yeah, I have body dysmorphia. I have a lot of deep insecurities."

Jamie Lynn Spears removes her sister's lyric from new book title
A forthcoming memoir by Britney Spears' sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, has a new title after Britney's fans slammed the 30-year-old actress for naming her life story, "I Confess," a lyric from Britney's hit song, "…Baby One More Time." In an Instagram announcement on Oct. 11, Jamie Lynn shared a photo of the cover of the book that shows it's now called, "Things I Should Have Said." Back in July, just weeks after Britney told a judge she wanted to sue her family for their role in keeping her under the control of her conservatorship, it was widely reported that Jamie Lynn had a memoir coming out through Worthy Publishing. The complete title was listed as, "I Must Confess: Family, Fame, and Figuring It Out," which infuriated members of the #FreeBritney movement, who promptly criticized Jamie Lynn for capitalizing on her sister's success while Britney blamed her relatives for much of her unhappiness. The publisher promptly released a statement in response to the frenzy of negative posts about Jamie Lynn, saying that, "incorrect and incomplete information about her book has appeared in the public space," and assuring the world the title had not yet been determined. In her post this week, Jamie Lynn said she's "finally finished writing" the book, which details her daughter's nearly fatal ATV accident and her own struggles with mental health and perfectionism. "Things I Should Have Said" hits shelves on Jan. 18, 2022.

Kylie Jenner is 'definitely ready for baby No. 2'
A "radiant" Kylie Jenner looked "ready for baby No. 2" over the weekend when she took her daughter, Stormi, and some of the 3-year-old's friends to a pre-Halloween event in Los Angeles, a source tells People. "She was in a great mood, looked radiant and was glowing…," said the insider, adding that Kylie and her little pals got their faces painted and took a ride on the "Haunt-O-Ween" carousel. "Kylie was very hands-on all night. She's definitely ready for baby No. 2," the source said. Kylie, 24, confirmed in September that she's expecting her second child with on-again boyfriend, Travis Scott, 30. "Motherhood really feels like something I was always meant to do," Kylie explained in an Elle interview published last month. "Watching Stormi experience everything for the first time has been the best part of these last few years." Though she's reportedly planning to keep the sex of the new baby private for now, Kylie's fans have long since decided she's having a boy, based on an assortment of social media clues.
Dave Chappelle gets support from Netflix CEO amid 'The Closer' controversy
The fallout continues this week for Dave Chappelle and Netflix following the release of Dave's controversial comedy special, "The Closer." The stand-up feature includes comments about trans people that many viewers have found highly offensive. According to new report from Variety, Netflix recently suspended an employee who identifies as queer and trans for crashing its "quarterly business review" meeting last week — not, as has been suggested by other outlets, because of the employee's past critical tweets about Dave and the special. Meanwhile, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos has reportedly spoken to the entire staff of the company about the special and how they should plan to handle criticism of it and Dave going forward. "Chapelle is one of the most popular stand-up comedians today, and we have a long standing deal with him. His last special 'Sticks & Stones,' also controversial, is our most watched, stickiest and most award-winning stand-up special to date," he said in the memo, per Variety. "As with our other talent, we work hard to support their creative freedom — even though this means there will always be content on Netflix some people believe is harmful," he noted.
'90210' stars honor Luke Perry on what would have been his birthday
Luke Perry's former "Beverly Hills, 90210" costars spent time remembering the late actor on social media on Oct. 11, in honor of what would have been his 55th birthday. "You are missed so much," Tori Spelling wrote in a moving Instagram message to Luke, who died in 2019 after suffering from a massive stroke. "Not a day goes by that I don't think about you," Tori continued. "You were one of a kind. I remember meeting you as a young insecure teen girl. You were the first boy to ever make me feel worth as a human, a female, and a comedienne." She went on to describe the star as "a friend and big brother" who defended her when she was in a "verbally abusive relationship" and "sat and talked me thru the most insecure moments of a teen angst girls [sic] life." Calling him "a giver in this ungiving life," Tori wrote, "Your loving nature carried thru decades." Jennie Garth, who played Luke's onscreen girlfriend, Kelly, posted a photo of the two cuddled up together as Kelly and Dylan. "Miss you my friend," she wrote alongside the pic. Ian Ziering, who played the "90210" gang's pal Steve, posted, "Miss you pal. Happy birthday LP." Ariana Grande, the Cambridges and more stars reflect on World Mental Health Day
Sunday, Oct. 10, marked the 30th annual World Mental Health Day, inspiring celebs around the world to speak out on social media about their own struggles with mental health issues while namechecking trusted resources their fans can access for help. Prince William and Duchess Kate, whose Royal Foundation operates the U.K.'s Heads Together initiative, shouted out mental health advocacy groups they work with, like the Anna Freud Centre. "Taking care of our mental health and well-being has never been more important," the Duke and Duchess wrote on Instagram. "This #WorldMentalHealthDay we are highlighting some of the fantastic organisations providing support for those who might need it – because there is help out there. What will you be doing to take care of your mental health today?" Ariana Grande, who's spoken publicly about her struggles with depression and anxiety, revealed she was teaming up with the online therapy platform BetterHelp "to give away up to $5 million in free therapy." Ariana added, "I acknowledge that there are very real barriers when it comes to accessing mental health resources, and while this is only one small gesture (and a much larger systemic problem remains) i wanted to do this again with @betterhelp in hopes of bringing access to a few more people and perhaps inspiring a few of you to try something new and prioritize your own healing." Bella Hadid, who said she's been "dealing with mental illness for most of my life," vowed to use her "platform" to continue talking about mental health issues there "until our mental is just as respected as our physical," writing, "I want everyone who struggles daily to know that you are not alone." Hugh Jackman, meanwhile, announced that he's been training for a "24 hour row to support mental fitness" in Australia, and reminded fans they can "participate and support from anywhere in the world."
