On Dec. 7, 2020, Florida police raided the home of Rebekah Jones, the former state COVID-19 data scientist who built Florida's widely praised COVID-19 dashboard but was fired in May after she accused officials of trying to get her to manipulate data to cover up the extent of the pandemic. Governor Ron DeSantis, meanwhile, alleged she was a disruptive and insubordinate employee. Video she posted on Twitter shows officers enter her home with guns drawn to serve a warrant for her computers based on a complaint filed by the Florida Department of Health concerning an unauthorized message sent on a state communications system. "They pointed a gun in my face. They pointed guns at my kids," Rebekah also tweeted. Here's how some Hollywood stars reacted… "Pointing guns at her kids is surely not going to help the states case. It's dangerous! And very traumatic. … Oh my god! Shame on you @GovRonDeSantis What the f*** is wrong with you? … You don't point guns at kids! Has everyone lost the plot?" –Patricia Arquette
"Pulling weapons on someone for the act of reporting Covid death data. And her children. If you're a serious investigative reporter in Florida and you're not trying to get to the bottom of who ordered this grotesque intimidation / abuse of power, turn in your press card" –Edward Norton
