Insurance — it ain't just for cars! With so much riding on their physical appearances, many celebrities have actually had insurance policies taken out on their legs, breasts, vocal cords or whatever their physical calling card may be. Heidi Klum, for instance, opened up in January 2022 about her legs being insured for $2 million. "I didn't insure them. It was a client that insured them. It wasn't me," the model told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. "One was actually more expensive than the other because when I was young, I fell into a glass and I have, like, a big scar. Obviously I put so much spray tan on right now you can't see it right now but yeah, so one was more expensive than the other one. It's weird the things some people do."

Back in 2011, former Playboy model Holly Madison told People magazine she had her breasts insured for $1 million through Lloyd's of London. At the time, she was starring in a topless Vegas show. "I've heard about people getting body parts insured and I thought, why not? Because if anything happened to my boobs, I'd be out for a few months and I'd probably be out a million dollars," she said. "I thought I'd cover my assets… They're my primary money makers right now."

Since "The Simpsons" began in 1989, it's estimated that Hank Azaria has voiced more than 100 characters. In other words, those vocal cords better stay perfect. And he knows it. "My voice blows out rather easily, so I have to watch it," he told late night host Conan O'Brien in 2020. "I was having a rough time in my life, and I got into a screaming match with someone. I totally blew out my voice, and it didn't come back for almost two weeks. I scared myself so bad that I got my vocal cords insured. Really. When you think about the revenue I am lucky enough to bring in through 'The Simpsons.' That was a long time ago. A lot of money would have gone bye-bye if I couldn't make voices."

Insurance times two! Dolly Parton's bust is the stuff of legend. According to a 2006 ABC News report, the country music star once had her breasts insured for $600,000 — or $300,000 each.

It's not nice to stick your tongue out at people… unless you're Miley Cyrus. The singer reportedly insured her tongue for $1.4 million after her infamous 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance. While it's easy to believe that Miley carefully considered her tongue-out persona, that's actually false. Miley's image was wholesome for years while under Disney's thumb during her "Hannah Montana" days. After leaving the show, she told The Scottish Sun, "I didn't know what to do with my face, so I stuck my tongue out, and it became a rebellious, punk-rock thing."

A bottom worth top dollar — that's Kylie Minogue! The Australian pop star took out a $5 million insurance policy on her bum after filming her "Spinning Around" music video (in those infamous gold hot pants) in 2000. Asked by a reporter why she took out the insurance policy, she said, "You never know what the future holds. It could become a pear."

A smile worth $10 million! America Ferrera's face lights up a room so much that her smile was insured for 10 million big ones. The star's smile and teeth were insured after she became the face of Aquafresh (the decision to insure was the toothpaste company's, not America's). "It's very flattering to have my smile insured for $10 million," she later said. "It's not something that I ever imagined happening."

Mariah Carey had not one but two body parts insured (well, technically she had three). TMZ reported that while prepping for her 2016 tour, the singer took out a $35 million insurance policy for her voice and another $35 million policy on her hamstrings.

Bruce Springsteen's heart might be hungry, but his voice is worth straight cheddar. Time magazine once reported that The Boss took out a $6 million policy on his gravelly vocal cords.

Music star Tina Turner reportedly insured her legs for about $2 million at the height of her career.

Bette Davis was at the forefront of the body insurance game. According to reports, she was fearful that weight gain would make her career suffer, so she insured her waist for $28,000 in the 1940s. At the time, that was a fortune. It's equivalent to about $550,000 now.

Believe it or not, soccer players use their legs a lot. Who knew! David Beckham, who was a major soccer star in his day, had legs worth $195 million. Time magazine reported that the English footballer and his legs had the biggest insurance policy in sports history, which was covered by multiple companies.

Former NFL football stud Troy Polamalu was known as much for his on-the-field skills as he was for his hair, which hangs down his back. His locks are so famous that he's been a spokesman for Head and Shoulders for more than a decade. The shampoo company is so invested in the Hall of Famer's hair that it took out a $1M insurance policy on his locks in 2010.
