In March 2023, Gwyneth Paltrow went viral for all the wrong reasons when she discussed her daily diet and wellness routine on Dr. Will Cole's "The Art of Being Well" podcast. "I usually eat something about 12, and in the morning I have things that won't spike my blood sugar — so I have coffee... But I really like soup for lunch. I have bone broth for lunch a lot of the days… and then for dinner I try to eat according to paleo – so lots of vegetables," she said. Critics accused her of glorifying starvation, with one writing, "Is starving wellness?" Another pointed out just how out of touch the actress sounded, writing, "I relate to nothing in this video."

During a May 2014 interview with Re/code, Gwyneth Paltrow compared her life in the public eye to crimes against humanity committed during war. "You come across [online comments] about yourself and about your friends, and it's a very dehumanizing thing," she said. "It's almost like how in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing." Wow. While we empathize with how difficult it must be to face constant criticism from online trolls, that experience is absolutely in no way comparable to war.

In a February 2022 Architectural Digest video, Gwyneth Paltrow showed off her uber-expensive estate in Montecito, California, which features a home spa inspired by the Parisian spa Bain de la Marais. It includes a hot tub, a cold plunge pool, a sauna and a shower system with R.W. Atlas shower fixtures that retail for more than $30K each. "Whenever I'm in here, I'm like, 'Pinch me!' I cannot believe that this is our house and we live here. It's so fun," she gushed. The Oscar winner and husband Brad Falchuk reportedly purchased the property for $5M in 2016 and rebuilt it from the ground up.

On a July 2011 episode of "The Jonathan Ross Show," Gwyneth Paltrow implied that processed foods are worse for you than extremely addictive and potentially life-altering drugs. "I'd rather smoke crack than eat cheese from a can," she snipped. Fine, Gwyneth, more Easy Cheese for the rest of us!

During a July 2018 interview with The New York Times Magazine, Gwyneth Paltrow revealed that she has a "house manager." But don't call him a butler. "No, he's a house manager," explained the actress. "He's the best. He's from Chicago. He's so incredible. He helps me with everything," she gushed. (Must be nice!) The lengthy article also revealed that while Gwyneth might cook her own meals, she has help when it comes to feeding her kids: According to the Times, "A woman who has worked for G.P. for a long time stood beside her, cooking an entirely separate dinner for G.P.'s children."

Imagine hosting a president in your backyard! In October 2014, Gwyneth Paltrow's Los Angeles home served as the venue for a fundraising dinner honoring President Barack Obama. The president reportedly thanked the Oscar winner and her children "for letting us crash your house" during his speech at the ultra-exclusive gathering.

During a January 2018 interview with People magazine, Gwyneth Paltrow bragged that she takes a bath "every single night." Said the actress, "I fell in love with the ritual of it — lighting a candle and having a cup of tea or a whiskey, depending on my day." She added that she also takes around an hour to "daydream and not be on [my phone]" regardless of what else is happening on any given day. "It's non-negotiable. It's just like, I do it every night," she said. "My kids are welcome to come in and chat with me if they need to — it's not like I'm in a meditation or something. But I just need that time and so I just take it. It's really the only time I take for myself every single day regardless of what is going on." Single moms, can you imagine setting aside an hour to daydream each day?!

Back in 2013, Life & Style magazine reported that after Gwyneth Paltrow hits the gym, she makes someone wipe her shower stall completely dry before she indulges in a post-workout rinse. "She refuses to touch what she calls 'somebody else's shower water,'" an inside source told the tabloid. She also reportedly refuses to use toilet paper touched by other patrons. "[She] demands an unopened package. It's nuts," said the source. No kidding! We're surprised Gwyneth ever exercised outside her castle in the first place.

In early 2020, Gwyneth Paltrow teamed up with the fragrance brand Heretic to launch a 10.5-ounce candle named after her private parts. The candles — which feature a "funny, gorgeous, sexy and beautifully unexpected scent" — retailed for $75 each and sold out online almost immediately. Go figure! But it wasn't Gwyneth's first foray into bizarre fragrances…

In 2016, Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop brand launched its first perfume, which channeled "cypress smoke, snow [and] sensual quiet." (Whatever the heck "sensual quiet" is supposed to smell like!) The perfumer who worked with the Oscar winner on the fragrance wrote at the time, "[Gwyneth] is such a sunny California girl, so I expected her to ask for, you know, grapefruit and vanilla and flowers, but instead she came in talking about the smell of ancient floorboards in European churches, a forest in Yugoslavia…" What girl doesn't dream of smelling like ancient church floorboards?!

Don't get us wrong, we love Coldplay — but there's only one Pablo Picasso. That didn't stop Gwyneth Paltrow from comparing Chris Martin to the groundbreaking Spanish artist during a September 2011 interview with Elle magazine: "It's like living with Picasso," she gushed after calling her then-husband a "musical genius." When Coldplay's discography does to soft rock what Picasso's cubist movement did to painting, let us know!

Gwyneth Paltrow has hawked some truly outrageous products through her Goop brand over the years. At the top of the list? In May 2016, the Oscar winner recommended a 24-karat gold or stainless-steel bedroom toy that will set you back $15K. Take our advice: Buy a car instead!

More than 10 million children in the United States experience food insecurity, but Gwyneth Paltrow couldn't stomach the thought of her offspring consuming ready-made soup or other processed foods. "I would rather die than let my kid eat Cup-a-Soup," she told Conan O'Brien during a 2005 appearance on his now-defunct talk show.

In May 2021, Gwyneth Paltrow pulled a major A-list move: She skipped the line at the DMV. The Oscar winner reportedly arrived at a DMV office in Los Angeles with her bodyguard, entered through a back door, bypassed a line of approximately 50 people and completed her errand within just half an hour. It's certainly a nice perk to fame considering the line at the DMV — especially in L.A. — can take hours.

Gwyneth Paltrow gushed about the joys of owning a wood-burning pizza oven in her 2011 cookbook "My Father's Daughter." Wrote the Oscar winner, "We've got a wood-burning pizza oven in the garden — a luxury, I know, but it's one of the best investments I've ever made." By the way, Gwyneth, not everyone is lucky enough to live in a home with space to garden!

What?! During a July 2013 interview with British Cosmopolitan, Gwyneth Paltrow shared some controversial thoughts on tanning: "We're human beings and the sun is the sun — how can it be bad for you? I think we should all get sun and fresh air. I don't think anything that is natural can be bad for you," she said, revealing that she's apparently never heard of a pesky little disease called melanoma … or of totally natural things that can kill you like cyanide, anthrax and mercury!

Want flawless skin like Gwyneth Paltrow? Then you better be ready to fork over some cold hard cash. On a March 2021 episode of Vogue's "Beauty Secrets" series, the Oscar winner revealed that the products that comprise her daily skincare routine will set you back nearly $1K. One product — Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum — retails for $325 for a 50ml dropper bottle.

Yes, Gwyneth Paltrow is a good actress. (She's got the Oscar to prove it!) But she also had an unfair advantage in Hollywood thanks to her pedigree: Her parents, director-producer Bruce Paltrow and actress Blythe Danner, were both established in the industry long before she was born. Gwyneth acknowledged that fact on a July 2022 episode of Hailey Bieber's "Who's in My Bathroom?" YouTube series: "As the child of someone, you get access other people don't have, so the playing field is not level in that way," she said. She then argued that the offspring of famous people actually have to work harder than unknown talent to prove themselves in the business, insisting, "I really do feel that once your foot is in the door — which you unfairly got in — then you almost have to work twice as hard and be twice as good. … People are ready to pull you down and say you don't belong there or you are only there because of your dad or your mom.'" Yeah, right, Gwyneth! You had to work twice as hard as an unknown actress working three dead-end jobs to support herself financially while simultaneously auditioning? Really?!

Scoring an invite to the Met Gala is a huge deal. Yet Gwyneth Paltrow had the nerve to call fashion's biggest night "so un-fun" following the 2013 event. "I'm never going again. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all," she griped to USA Today of the A-list affair … which she attended again in 2017 and 2019. Hey, Gwyneth, if you don't want to go next year, we can think of a few million people who'd be more than happy to take your ticket!

During a 2006 interview with The Guardian, Gwyneth Paltrow said "it's gross" when women get drunk. "I really don't like drunk women; I think it is such a bad look. I think it's very inappropriate and I don't like it," she said. It's unclear if she holds the same judgment for men who like to imbibe.

Gwyneth Paltrow wrote in her 2013 cookbook "It's All Good" that she and her family "basically can't live without Vegenaise" — vegan mayonnaise. "It's a little out of control," she added. Get wild, girl!

Gwyneth Paltrow raised eyebrows during the May 2013 issue of Harper's Bazaar when she shared her take on "what makes life interesting." Said the actress, "I use organic [beauty] products, but I get laser [skin treatments]. It's what makes life interesting, finding the balance between cigarettes and tofu." We're not quite sure what one has to do with the other, but you do you, Gwyneth.

Leave Reese Witherspoon alone! During a 2006 interview with The Guardian, Gwyneth Paltrow used Reese Witherspoon as an example of a talented actress who only makes romantic comedies. "You see her in something like 'Walk the Line' and think, 'God, you're so great.' And then you think, 'Why is she doing these stupid romantic comedies?' But of course it's for money and status," said the "Shallow Hal" alum. Reese, by the way, has spent the past few executive producing lauded dramas centered around women — "Big Little Lies," "Little Fires Everywhere" and "The Morning Show" — while Gwyneth has been selling overpriced candles that allegedly smell like her private parts.
