Controversial Goop reveal
Even wellness fanatic Gwyneth Paltrow admits the weirdest wellness trend she's tried is, well "pretty weird." Asked to reveal the strangest procedure she's ever explored, the actress and Goop founder said on Dear Media's "The Art of Being Well" podcast: "I have used ozone therapy, rectally. Can I say that? It's pretty weird. It's pretty weird, yeah. But it's been very helpful." Gwyneth, 50, didn't elaborate on how she's benefited from the controversial alternative medicine practice, but proponents claim introducing ozone to the body can reduce pain and inflammation, stimulate the immune system and fight infections. The FDA isn't so sure. In 2019, the agency declared the practice to be unsafe, declaring the "toxic gas" has "no known useful medical application" and noting it would only be effective if it were "present in a concentration far greater than" what could be "safely tolerated" by humans.
"I didn't think about [wellness] a lot until my father was diagnosed with cancer," Gwyneth said elsewhere in the interview (via JustJared). "I started realizing there had to be a connection through what we were eating and what we were being exposed to. And how that was being expressed through disease. And that's when I started researching whatever I could. Talking to people. Understanding the links between environmental toxins, cancer … what led to the creation of disease in our culture."

Jimmy Kimmel scrapped 'harder' jokes about Will Smith and The Slap from Oscars monologue
While hosting the 2023 Academy Awards over the weekend, Jimmy Kimmel delivered plenty of jokes about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars. But according to his wife, Molly McNearney — an executive producer on the Oscars — the three-time host had a cache of even harsher digs that he opted to leave out. "We didn't want to make this year all about last year," Molly told Variety in an interview published after the show. "I cannot tell you how many Will Smith jokes we had that then we got rid of. We think that only the best for that room made it. There were certainly some that went harder, but we didn't think that was our place to do that. That should be Chris Rock, not us," she added. Molly also said the material changed based on who was in their seats and who was in the theater at the time the jokes would have to be made. Jimmy wouldn't have included his "L. Ron Hubba Hubba" joke about Scientologist Tom Cruise's volleyball scene in "Top Gun: Maverick" had Tom attended the Oscars, she said. He would have instead included more praise for Tom's success in bringing audiences back into theaters after COVID-19 lockdowns.
In the end, Molly said the monologue is "a balancing act," that needs to get laughs from both "industry people" who've seen the year's more niche films and viewers at home who may have only seen the blockbusters.
How Pauly Shore really felt about Jimmy Kimmel's 'Encino Man' Oscars jab
One day after 2023 Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel cracked a joke about Pauly Shore in his monologue, Pauly tweeted that he "loved it," and praised his former "Encino Man" costars, Brendan Fraser and Ke Huy Quan, on their best actor and best supporting actor wins, telling fans, "never give up on your dreams." But he may have been more hurt than he let on.
During the show on Sunday (March 12), Jimmy marveled that there were 16 first-time nominees in this year's acting categories. "Two actors from 'Encino Man' are nominated for Oscars," he said, referencing Brendan and Ke. "What an incredible night it must be for the two of you, and what a very difficult night for Pauly Shore." Despite Pauly's positive response on Twitter, he later told Page Six the crack was more of the same treatment he's experienced in the past. "We love to hate people when they're on top," he told the outlet. "People wanted to smash me down and they did. I was always nice to everyone, always cool, I put my heart into my all my films." Though he said he's happy for his former friends and "glad people still talk about" their film 30 years later, he also implied his celebrity status made him a target: "You're buying and selling a human being. Human beings have feelings, it's not like selling real estate."

Paris Hilton says her 8th grade teacher kissed her, said he had 'a crush' on her
Paris Hilton finally released her bombshell-filled memoir on Tuesday (March 14), and it includes new details about her "inappropriate relationship" with an 8th grade teacher. According to excerpts from "Paris: The Memoir" released Tuesday, Paris writes the "handsome young teacher" told her outright, "I've got a crush on you" and kissed her while she was his student. "He made me feel noticed in an important, grown-up way," she writes (via People). "He flattered and teased me and said that all the other girls were talking about me behind my back because they were jealous." Paris says he asked for her phone number, but "cautioned me not to tell anyone." She says he proceeded to call her almost nightly, telling her "how amazingly mature, beautiful, and intelligent I was, how sensual, misunderstood, and special." After repeatedly asking if her mom and dad were home, she told him one night that they were not, she writes. Paris says he soon showed up in her driveway in an SUV. "I climbed into the passenger seat. Teacher pulled me into his arms and kissed me," she writes, adding that the kiss "seemed to be evolving into something more" until her parents came home. Paris then details how he blamed her for the whole thing, demanding to know, "Why did you make me do this?" Looking back, Paris admits she still feels ashamed about the experience and struggled to use the word "pedophile" though she knows "no child is ever to blame for inappropriate adult behavior."
She adds: "I'm not sure I'll ever be able to fully shake it off. But it's a key part of my story."
