Wonderwall.com rounded up all the proof that stars are nothing like the rest of us from January 2022, starting with this story… Gucci Mane forked over an insane amount of cash to his wife, Keyshia Ka'Oir, when she turned 37 on Jan. 6, 2022. "I got the smartest, prettiest and most loyal wife in the world, and I'ma spoil her for life," he captioned a slideshow of photos and videos from the model and fitness entrepreneur's birthday bash, during which he gifted her an Hermès box stuffed with stacks of cash totaling a cool $1M. (One clip showed the birthday girl dumping the stacks on a table as her friends and family gleefully shrieked in the background.) "ONE OF MY BEST BIRTHDAYS EVER," she captioned her own slideshow of photos from the party. We just have one question: Has she really had other birthdays that compare to scoring $1M in cash?! Must be nice!

It's not every day that someone gets a newly discovered tropical plant named after them! The BBC reported on Jan. 6, 2022, that scientists at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, recently honored Leonardo DiCaprio — and his efforts to prevent logging in the rainforest — by naming a tree species after him: Uvariopsis dicaprio, which is critically endangered and grows only in Cameroon's Ebo Forest. "We think he was crucial in helping to stop the logging of the Ebo Forest," said Kew's Dr. Martin Cheek. A well-deserved honor indeed!

On Jan. 19, 2022, the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star took to Instagram to show off a special gift from her future husband: a $300,000 Rolls-Royce Ghost. She added a hashtag for "thank you hubby" to make it clear the car came from Simon, who also shared a slideshow of photos showing off their matching "his and hers" Ghosts. … And to think it's not even Porsha's birthday!

Kanye West pulled out all the stops to impress his new girlfriend, Julia Fox, on one of their earliest dates. In a brief essay that Interview magazine published on Jan. 6, 2022, the "Uncut Gems" actress detailed their extravagant first week of coupledom: Just a few days after they met in Miami on New Year's Eve, the duo jetted off to New York City to catch a performance of "Slave Play" on Broadway. After the show, they dined at Carbone, where Ye "directed an entire photo shoot" for Julia as other guests dined nearby. "After dinner Ye had a surprise for me," the brunette beauty wrote. "I mean, I'm still in shock. Ye had an entire hotel suite full of clothes. It was every girl's dream come true. It felt like a real Cinderella moment. I don't know how he did it, or how he got all of it there in time. But I was so surprised. Like, who does things like this on a second date? Or any date!" Kanye, that's who! According to People magazine, he "requested all runway pieces" from Diesel's Spring/Summer 2022 and Pre-Fall 2022 collections for his new gal pal. "About 40 pieces from the Spring/Summer and Pre-Fall 2022 runway collections were pulled quickly and sent to the hotel," said a source, adding that Julia ultimately kept six of the looks the rapper selected for her.

Look, ma, we made it! According to Vulture, Staten Island's favorite sons — Pete Davidson and Colin Jost — teamed up with Manhattan real estate broker Paul Italia to purchase a decommissioned ferry boat at auction on Jan. 19, 2022. The trio dropped more than $280K on the John F. Kennedy, which was built in 1965 and was part of the Staten Island Ferry fleet until last summer. Both Pete and Colin regularly took the State Island Ferry to Manhattan during their pre-fame days, making the purchase quite the full-circle moment for the "Saturday Night Live" stars, who plan to turn the decommissioned ferry into a live entertainment venue. Glow-ups all around!

On the Jan. 13, 2022, episode of her "This Is Paris" podcast, Paris Hilton dished on her globe-spanning, seven-and-a-half-week honeymoon with her new husband, Carter Reum. (Can you even imagine?!) The highlight, she said, was their stay at the first-ever underwater hotel suite in the Maldives. They also spent time on a yacht in Bora Bora and returned to Necker Island, Richard Branson's luxury private island in the British Virgin Islands, where they got engaged in early 2021. They also spent time in Anguilla, Dubai and London — the reality star's "favorite city in the world," where they celebrated Christmas. She noted on her podcast that she brought eight suitcases with her, and as the trip progressed, she periodically sent clothes she no longer needed back home to the United States. She restocked her honeymoon wardrobe with new purchases, obviously!

Ed Sheeran's $4M estate in Suffolk, England, is essentially a small town at this point… On Jan. 13, 2022, The Sun reported that the chart-topper is gearing up to build a church with its own burial chamber — a crypt! — on his property. Ed submitted building plans to a local council that indicate the building will include stained-glass windows, eight pews, an altar, an upstairs gallery and a tower. "The materials used to construct the new building will be largely in hand crafted flint, to reflect the highest quality in architecture and design detail," the architects working on the project said in official paperwork. The sprawling estate currently includes five homes, a pub, a swimming pool, a two-story treehouse and a soccer field.

(See more photos here.) The former child star has yet to don the extravagant piece in public.

On the Jan. 18, 2022, episode of "Late Night with Seth Meyers," Jeremy Irons revealed that he recently purchased "a very small island with a little cottage on it" near his 15th century castle in County Cork, Ireland. The island is "about 100 meters" away from Kilcoe Castle, which the "House of Gucci" actor bought in 1998. (The castle is positioned on an islet that's reachable via a short causeway from the mainland on the southwestern tip of the Emerald Isle.) The Oscar winner plans to populate the island with Kerry Bog ponies and Galloway cattle "just to sort of eat it down," he said, explaining that he's "farming a little bit more now than acting." What a dream!

Only the best for Cardi B and her babies! On Jan. 4, 2022, the rapper and mother of two took to Instagram to share a slideshow of photos of herself rocking a vintage Dior ensemble while posing alongside a matching Dior combination bassinet and stroller and a coordinating Dior diaper bag — both presumably for her new baby boy, whose name she's yet to publicly reveal. The stroller will set you back $7,700, while the diaper bag is currently available online for $3,300. According to Page Six, Cardi's trench coat retails for more than $27K, while her matching skirt costs $1,193 and her bodysuit is worth $850. No, Keanu Reeves did not donate 70% of his salary from the first "The Matrix" movie to fund leukemia research, as a since-debunked report claimed in early January 2022. But that doesn't mean he's not still ridiculously generous. On Jan. 8, 2022, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the beloved actor footed the bill for many members of his inner circle — and members of his wider circle! — to attend the premiere of "The Matrix Resurrections" in San Francisco on Dec. 18, 2021. He reportedly picked up the tab for private jets, accommodations and other gifts for his guests — he even hosted a post-premiere brunch! Chad Stahelski — who previously served as Keanu's stunt double before directing him in all four installments in the "John Wick" franchise — told THR of his famous friend and colleague, "He flew a bunch of us up here. He's incredibly generous. In the audience tonight will be so many people that helped him, from his martial art trainers to jiu-jitsu trainers to hair and makeup to his stunt crew. He makes sure that his friends and family are here. He's epic." No kidding! When asked to comment on his act of generosity, Keanu reportedly demurred, telling THR simply, "Yeah, it's great to be able to share our experiences and lives together." What a gem!

During an interview with Page Six that debuted online on Jan. 14, 2022, Soulja Boy described what an average day of shopping looks like for him: "I went to the jewelry store, bought a watch for like $30,000. Got a chain for like $20,000. For Louis Vuitton, [I'll spend] $25,000 to $70,000," he said. He then explained that high-end retail therapy is a part of his job: "I have to be presentable for my fans. This is not frivolous spending, this is me looking presentable. You know you got to spend money to make money," he said, adding that if you see him "doing a shopping spree … that means we just had a good day." Some of us would call a $100K shopping spree a GREAT day … and possibly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

On Jan. 19, 2022, CNN published a statement from Cardi B announcing her intention to cover the funeral costs for the 17 people who died when a fire tore through a Bronx apartment building 10 days earlier. "I'm extremely proud to be from the Bronx and I have lots of family and friends who live and work there still," said the native New Yorker. "So, when I heard about the fire and all of the victims, I knew I needed to do something to help. I cannot begin to imagine the pain and anguish that the families of the victims are experiencing, but I hope that not having to worry about the costs associated with burying their loved ones will help as they move forward and heal. I send my prayers and condolences to everyone affected by this horrific tragedy."
