Back in 2020, Damar Hamlin started a GoFundMe page to raise money to purchase toys for children affected by the pandemic. His goal was initially set at $2,500. In the hours after the Buffalo Bills safety went into cardiac arrest while playing the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 2, 2023, donations for his The Chasing M's Foundation Community Toy Drive have poured in — and the amount raised has now, as of Jan. 9, topped $8.5 million (and counting!).
Not only are fans from all over the world donating, but some notable NFL names appear to be opening their hearts — and wallets.
