Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in early December 2021, starting with this former couple… On the Dec. 6 episode of Jeff Lewis's Radio Andy show for SiriusXM, Dorinda Medley revealed that she's seeing someone new: a mystery many she met at a New York City restaurant when he accidentally sat at her table. They ended up chatting, and she gave him her phone number, she recalled, noting that they've since gone out on three dates. But it's nothing serious … yet! "I don't know about him yet. I've got to get to know the person. I've got to get some foundation laid. Why am I gonna waste my time?" said the former "The Real Housewives of New York City" star, who joked that she treats her love life "like a business." Dorinda has been on the market since her relationship of seven years with John Mahdessian ended in 2019.

"As a spokesperson for Elle, I can unequivocally confirm that the relationship between Elle and Dr. Wakefield terminated almost two years ago," said the rep, adding that "there has been no contact subsequently" between the pair, who started dating back in 2017. On the Dec. 9 episode of Fox Soul's "Hollywood Unlocked With Jason Lee Uncensored," Common called his recent split from Tiffany Haddish "mutual." The multi-hyphenate gushed of the actress, "[She's] one of the best people I've met in life — one of the best-hearted and most authentic and caring people that I've met in life. That's what made me love her and be in love with her and want to be in a relationship with her and grow with her. We had a real healthy and loving [relationship]. It probably was the most mature relationship I have been in … meaning the communication, the respect, just all around." He went on to say that they even navigated the pandemic well as a couple. But things between them took a turn when their schedules picked back up again. "Once Tiffany and I got back on the move, it really didn't allow for us to spend as much time and put as much energy into our relationship. I don't think the love really dispersed … we weren't feeding the relationship," he said. "Neither one of us is gonna stop. We both care about our crafts and what we do. We care about love too and partnership, but I think the energy that has been put into our careers and continuing to want to do the things that we do for ourselves and for people, it was hard for me to balance all of that and keep the relationship fed. … [We] came to the understanding that this is what's gonna be best for us to still continue to love each other and be there for each other is to not be in a romantic relationship because we won't be able to give to that. I don't want to be one foot in, one foot out. It's not about anybody else or another relationship because that's not where my heart and head is. It's just really honestly, it's actually committing to so much work that we do that it's hard when the other person is working just as much, to actually give time and love and nurture into the relationship."

On Dec. 3, DailyMail.com broke the news that Houston-based personal trainer Maralee Nichols is suing Tristan Thompson for child support for the baby she claims they conceived together on his 30th birthday in March 2021 — while he and off-and-on love Khloe Kardashian were still an item. (They called it quits in the spring of 2021 after Instagram model Sydney Chase claimed she had an affair with the professional basketball player from late 2020 to early 2021.) Tristan admitted in court documents that he and Maralee did, in fact, have sex several times in a hotel room after they attended a party together — though he claimed it was a one-night thing. Maralee, however, insists that their affair kicked off at least "five months" before his 30th birthday and continued after she got pregnant. Meanwhile, People magazine reported that, according to a source, Khloe was "upset to find out that [Tristan] cheated again" because "she always believed that he would change." Added the source, "It's just a sad situation to her. … She was just hopeful that he would stay faithful and loyal to her." Said an "Entertainment Tonight" source, "Khloe is always so positive, but this brought her down a little. She has always been into giving Tristan tons of chances and deep down held out hope that they would maybe get back together one day. There is no hope and it's really done for now, but she thinks it's for the best." Khloe's family is said to be "glad [her] romantic relationship [with Tristan] is done." Multiple media outlets reported that she's trying to keep things friendly with her ex for the sake of their daughter, True.

Ultimately, they decided to exchange vows during a pre-planned visit from the funnyman's family in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he was shooting his upcoming Peacock comedy "MacGruber" at the time. "We realized, 'Oh, all the people that we would want to be here are going to be here.' … So we just decided very last minute, 'Let's just have this wedding, surprise my parents.' They didn't even know until they pulled into the parking lot. And we just had this really fun, delightful wedding, pretty small, in the back of ['MacGruber' co-creator] Jorma Taccone's house," recalled the "Saturday Night Live" alum. "It was just a delightful day. My parents were totally surprised. It was so stressful, the two weeks where we were planning. I can't imagine having a year or more to stew over wedding plans." Will added of married life, "It's fun to say, 'Wife.' I've never worn any jewelry in my life and it's fun to wear a wedding ring. It already felt like we were married before. It doesn't feel a lot different, but it's still fun and exciting to say, 'Wife.' She's great. I needed to find somebody who was a very patient person and she's the most patient, understanding woman in the world. I'm feeling very happy and very lucky these days." On Dec. 8, Will and Olivia made their official red carpet debut as a couple at the "MacGruber" premiere in Los Angeles.

I am so grateful for you my darling," he tweeted, adding that "relationships aren't easy" but that he and Melanie "love, cherish and adore" their son. The new mom, meanwhile, took to her Instagram Story to apologize for her role in their recent split, which was spurred by Aaron's realization that Melanie had been communicating with his estranged sister, Angel Carter, behind his back. "My intentions in contacting his sister Angel were not of ill intent. I wanted to try to resolve the situation so we could all be a family. I now realize that wasn't my place and I never should've done that. I let my feelings get the best of me as I was hormonal and pregnant and would take it back if I could.
