Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the celebrities who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in late December 2021 and early January 2022, starting with this news… During an interview with Haute Living that debuted online on Dec. 28, Justin Hartley praised his third wife, Sofia Pernas, while inadvertently shading his first two wives: Lindsay Korman and Chrishell Stause. "We got married in March, and we are so happy!" he gushed. "It's incredible when you're not forcing things. It doesn't have to be that hard. You just meet the right person and you just go, 'Oh, this is amazing. It's just so wonderful!' You're so attracted and so attached to this person. You just love this person so much. Even though we've only been married a few months, it's hard to remember what it was like without her. When I re-met her, I just knew. It's so interesting about the human heart and human mind. It's not a codependency; I'm just at peace with myself. I feel loved and I feel appreciated. I know she feels the same way. We just have a really great relationship and a really terrific family. It's healthy and it's wonderful. … Everything is easier with her in my life. I also feel like I'm better at stuff. I learn from her. She speaks five languages. She's brilliant, she's incredible, she's fun to look at. Everything about her is amazing — she's just hilarious. She inspires me to want to be a better man, like Jack Nicholson said in 'As Good as It Gets.' I want to rise to the occasion because she's so great. She does make me want to be a better person, and [this kind of love] certainly does complete me." Justin and Sofia first connected on the set of "The Young and the Restless" in 2015 while he was in a relationship with Chrishell, whom he married in 2017. "We didn't work together that closely, and we didn't work together that long. I knew that she was very kind and very nice. I liked being around her. But I was in a different place in my life. I wasn't available. Timing has a lot to do with that. I'm very lucky to not only have found 'the one,' but I found her when she was available and the timing was right," he said, adding that he's now "happier than I've ever been" before. "I'm fulfilled in so many ways," he said. "I've met my life partner. I've got a really great imagination, but I could not have imagined someone like this. She's off the charts."

On Jan. 1, Kanye West stepped out for dinner with model-actress Julia Fox in Miami. A source told TMZ, which published exclusive photos of the intimate dinner date, that the pair aren't serious and that the rapper is simply enjoying single life amid his ongoing divorce from estranged wife Kim Kardashian. On Jan. 2, however, Kanye and Julia were seen together again: They dined with rapper Future at Makoto in Miami Beach. According to TMZ, they double dated with "Drink Champs" host N.O.R.E. and his wife, Neri Santiago, at the Carbone in Miami on Jan. 3. The following evening, they joined a group of friends for a performance of "Slave Play" on Broadway before dinner at the Carbone in New York City. They then headed back to his hotel in the same SUV. (It's unclear if they spent the night together.) "Julia and Ye are dating. They both just got out of their former relationships, and they've helped each other recover immensely. They're kind of kindred spirits, and it's cool to watch," a source told Page Six after the duo were seen together in two states in less than a week. Julia split from Peter Artemiev — with whom she shares a son — in late 2021. In a brief essay that Interview published on Jan. 6 — along with PDA-packed photos from their first week of coupledom — Julia opened up about how she and Kanye had "an instant connection" when they met for the very first time in Miami on New Year's Eve. "His energy is so fun to be around. He had me and my friends laughing, dancing, and smiling all night. We decided to keep the energy going and fly back to New York City to see 'Slave Play,'" she wrote, adding that she was "impressed" when Ye made it to the show on time. She then revealed that during dinner at Carbone, Ye "directed an entire photo shoot" for her as other guests dined. "The whole restaurant loved it and cheered us on while it was happening," she gushed. "After dinner Ye had a surprise for me. I mean, I'm still in shock. Ye had an entire hotel suite full of clothes. It was every girl's dream come true. It felt like a real Cinderella moment. I don't know how he did it, or how he got all of it there in time. But I was so surprised. Like, who does things like this on a second date? Or any date! Everything with us has been so organic. I don't know where things are headed but if this is any indication of the future I'm loving the ride."

TMZ reported on Dec. 28 that Dr. Dre and Nicole Young officially settled their extremely contentious divorce by agreeing to a division of assets that sees the music mogul forking over $100 million to his ex. He's reportedly "delighted" by the terms: According to the webloid, he's walking away from the marriage with seven properties (a home in Malibu, two homes in Calabasas and four other homes in the Los Angeles area including a $100 million Brentwood estate), six of 10 cars, "full rights to his master recordings, trademarks and interests in various partnerships and trusts," plus their stock in Apple including the proceeds from the sale of his Beats by Dre brand to the tech company. Nicole, meanwhile, will hold onto four vehicles and her jewelry, plus cash and bank accounts she maintained during the marriage. She's responsible for paying her own legal fees — which "amount to millions of dollars," according to TMZ's estimate — and she will not receive spousal support from Dre, per the terms of their agreement. Sources close to the former couple told TMZ that if Nicole had settled sooner, she likely would've scored a significantly larger payday from her ex.

"The Talk" co-host Amanda Kloots and "The Bachelorette" alum Michael Allio — who dropped out of Katie Thurston's season as it neared its conclusion in the summer of 2021 — sparked romance rumors when she took to Instagram on Dec. 27 to share a photo from a dinner date they shared at a restaurant in Canton, Ohio, over the holidays. "Finally met this guy in person after being Instagram friends for a year!! Lots of fried food, drinks, great chats and laughs!" she wrote in the caption. Michael added, "Just two kids from Akron," when he shared the cozy-looking snap on his Instagram Story. A few days later, Amanda explained to Us Weekly how she and the reality star connected: "People in our lives kept telling us both that we should meet based on how much we have in common. So we eventually started connecting over social media. When you are a widow and single parent, it is so wonderful to meet people that are in your same boat. It makes you feel less alone," she said. (The blonde beauty lost her second husband, Nick Cordero, in July 2020 due to complications from COVID-19, while Michael lost his wife, Laura, in 2019 following a battle with breast cancer. They're each raising young sons as single parents now.) Amanda went on to describe their dinner date as "so nice" and added that it felt like they'd "been friends for years." Said the former Rockette, "We could have chatted for days. There is an immediate honesty and ease when you've been through trauma like we have." For now they're just friends, though. "We are both from Ohio, have little boys and [have] been through a very hard time in life. We have each other's back," Amanda said. She concluded by expressing her interest in falling in love again: "I would love to have some love back in my life," she said, adding that she's even open to looking for love on the "The Bachelor" franchise. "I've learned to never say never in life," said the former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant.

It appears there's a new man in Rebel Wilson's life: The actress is spending time with Australian professional tennis player Matt Reid, and according to a source for the Australian tabloid the Herald Sun, the buzz in the tennis world is that they "could be more than just friends." The pair were snapped getting breakfast together at a café in Sydney on Christmas Eve — two weeks after they posed together on the red carpet at the 11th Annual Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards. According to Daily Mail Australia, it's possible the pair connected through her pal Brittany Hockley, who's dating another Australian tennis player: Jordan Thompson. According to TMZ, "lack of motivation" and "a very complicated property settlement agreement" contributed to the drawn-out timeline. The former couple did not sign a prenup before they tied the knot in 1986, and according to TMZ's sources, they basically split their $400 million in assets down the middle.

They conceived the baby boy in March during a fling amid the professional basketball player's off-and-on relationship with Khloe Kardashian. After insisting that he plans to "take full responsibility" for his new son, he publicly apologized to the reality TV star, writing, "Khloe, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry." According to an Us Weekly source, "Tristan wants to make everything right with Khloe. He wants to win her back, but she will never take him back romantically after learning about his cheating. This was the final straw." While Khloe has yet to comment on Tristan's public apology, her ex-husband, Lamar Odom, chimed in on Facebook, writing, "I truly wish nothing but the best for [Khloe] and I'm hoping we can reconnect and talk one day as friends. She is a good person and deserves the world." Lamar also regularly cheated on Khloe over the course of their relationship.

On Dec. 27, she took to her Instagram Story to confirm that the report was true: "I am rattled. This situation is profoundly devastating. This is obviously not what I imagined when I made my vows — and I'm shocked and saddened by the way things turned out. I am moving forward with my [three] children as we privately process our pain and begin to let go of shattered dreams," she wrote. The following day, E! News reported that, according to a source, the sudden split "had to do with distance" between the St. Louis-based former reality TV star and the Los Angeles-based attorney. "It was not a relationship rooted in that much practicality. She had hopes of being able to spend more time in California but the kids cannot just be moved," said the source. On Dec. 29, however, Meghan told Page Six, "Cuffe lived with me. We didn't have any distance. We lived together every day since the day we met. There was no [California-Missouri] distance. There was zero long distance whatsoever." She declined to clarify what went wrong between them.

During an interview with E! News that debuted online on Jan. 4, Vicki Gunvalson said of her newly engaged ex-fiancé, Steve Lodge, "Only a narcissist would move out of my home in September and be engaged in December. At this point I can only thank God for tearing me away from the lies, the mind games, manipulations, being used, and I am finally set free to heal. … It's important to remember that I'm only mourning the person I thought he was, not the cruel manipulator he really is, and that is what gives me peace. I now see this as a blessing because if he did this now, God only knows what he would've done years down the line if I would've stayed with him. … I'm not an evil person so I won't wish him anything bad, I can only wish for him what he deserves in life… whatever that may be." Steve fired back to E! that his ex's perspective "is usually skewed." He then alleged that they actually split in late 2020 — much earlier than previously believed, though there were reports at the time that their romance was on the rocks. "I was very clear with Vicki in December of 2020. I told her in writing and verbally many times that I did NOT want to be in a romantic relationship with her anymore and ended it.
