Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the celebs who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in early August 2022, starting with this performer… On Aug. 8, People magazine broke the news that Demi Lovato has a new boyfriend: a musician whose identity wasn't revealed at the time. "It's a really happy and healthy relationship. He's a super great guy," said a source. A few days later, Demi and Jordan Lutes — who performs under the stage name Jute$ — were snapped holding hands in New York City, indicating he may be the new love in Demi's life. (See photos here.) Jute$, by the way, is credited as a writer on Demi's new track "Substance."

On Aug. 1 — two and a half months after Will Poulter sparked romance rumors with "Midsommar" co-star Florence Pugh — the "We're the Millers" actor, who underwent a major glow-up in recent years, was snapped smooching model-actress Bobby T in West Hollywood. On Aug. 4, Malia Obama was snapped packing on the PDA with a mystery man at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in L.A. DailyMail.com later reported that the mystery man — with whom the former first daughter was seen three times in nine days — is Dawit Eklund, a record producer who's nearly a decade her senior. It's unclear when the Harvard grad and college sweetheart Rory Farquharson — to whom she was first linked in 2017 — called it quits.

On Aug. 4, Deux Moi reported that, according to an anonymous source, Paula Abdul and "Prey" star Dane DiLiegro were "all over each other" at the Aug. 2 premiere of the new Hulu film. Later that day, the 34-year-old actor insisted on his Instagram Story that he's "not dating anybody" and that rumors to the contrary are "fraud info." He failed, however, to address his relationship with the 60-year-old singer, with whom he's been seen several times in the past year. They were also photographed together at the mid-May premiere of "Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers" and at a holiday party in Los Angeles in December 2021.

It's over for Michelle Branch and Patrick Carney after three years of marriage: The Grammy winners have separated, People magazine and TMZ reported on Aug. 11. "To say that I am totally devastated doesn't even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family. The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward," Michelle — who shares son Rhys James, 4, and infant daughter Willie Jacquet with the Black Keys drummer — told the magazine in a statement. "With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness." The news comes a day after the "Everywhere" singer-songwriter tweeted and deleted a message accusing Patrick of cheating on her while she was home with their 6-month-old. (Michelle is also a mom to daughter Owen Landau, 17, from her first marriage.) The drama only continued when, on Aug. 12 — the same da Michelle filed for divorce — news broke revealing that she'd been arrested the previous day for domestic assault after allegedly slapping Patrick in the face.

In early August, Selena Gomez celebrated her 30th birthday with friends including Andrea Iervolino on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. The multi-day hangout sparked rumors that the singer-actress and the Italian film producer — who was also on hand when Selena celebrated her 27th birthday in Italy in 2019 — are a couple. On Aug. 2, the duo were snapped hugging and dancing together at a restaurant, and at one point, Andrea appeared to peck Selena on the cheek. A few days later, he was photographed helping her board a boat in Positano, Italy. (Andrea, by the way, produced the 2016 historical drama "In Dubious Battle," in which Selena starred.)

During an interview with Allure that debuted online on Aug. 10, Millie Bobby Brown described her relationship with ex Hunter Ecimovic as an "unhealthy situation." In July 2021, the TikTok star said on Instagram Live that he "groomed" the "Stranger Things" actress over the course of their relationship, which kicked off when he was 20 and she was just 16. "I felt very vulnerable," she said of his comments in the wake of their January 2021 split. "When you get publicly humiliated this way, I felt so out of control and powerless. Walking away and knowing that I'm worth everything and this person didn't take anything from me, it felt very empowering. It felt like my life had finally turned a page and that I actually had ended a chapter that felt so f****** long." She also called Hunter a "blip" and admitted that she's "made wrong decisions." A few months after they split, Millie moved on with Jon Bon Jovi's son Jake Bongiovi.

New couple alert? On Aug. 6, Christie Brinkley's son, Jack Brinkley-Cook, was snapped looking cozy with tennis star Eugenie Bouchard — who dated Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph in 2021 — during a day at the beach in Miami. (See photos here.) Although they were joined by other friends, the swimsuit-clad hangout sparked rumors that they're an item. Jack split from his girlfriend of four years, model Nina Agdal, in late 2021.

In early August, a rumor started circulating online claiming that Melissa Gorga cheated on husband Joe Gorga by making out with family friend Nick Barrotta — who's also married — during a night out in New York City sometime several years ago. On Aug. 9, DailyMail.com reported that a source close to the actor, who's starred on "The Oval" since 2020, called the rumor "completely ridiculous" and insisted that Nick and wife Liz have been "close friends" with Melissa and Joe "for years." Said the source, "There is absolutely zero truth to this nasty rumor and it's comical that it even needs to be addressed. … [Nick] is shocked that someone would make up something so nasty in an attempt to destroy two families." A Page Six source echoed that while Melissa has, in fact, hit the town with Nick, "no one made out with anybody." A second Page Six source added that Melissa and Joe are "laughing about" the "ridiculous" drama. The rumor — which spread like wildfire among the stars of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" after Laura Marasca Jensen brought it up earlier this year — reportedly played a role in Melissa and Joe's ongoing feud with his sister, Teresa Giudice: Melissa and Joe skipped Teresa and Louie Ruelas' Aug. 6 nuptials (more on that next!) after they confronted her for allegedly spreading the rumor, which ultimately came up during production on the upcoming 13th season of "RHONJ." Laura — who's reportedly auditioned for a spot on "RHONJ" several times — alleged to Page Six that former friend Margaret Josephs initially told her about the rumor "a while ago," insisting, "I never said [the rumor] was true. I said I was told by Margaret that someone saw [Melissa kiss Nick]. I never said that Melissa did that." Laura told Teresa about the rumor earlier this year, but it's unclear how Teresa further spread it.

On Aug. 10, the Bachelor Nation Scoop Instagram account shared a photo of Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan posing with a fan earlier that day. An hour later, The Bachelor Tea Spill Instagram account shared a slideshow of photos of the former couple in the same outfits at a Chicago Cubs baseball game at Wrigley Field. A video soon surfaced of a man and a woman who appeared to be Peter and Kelley walking together in an airport sometime "two weeks ago." The hangouts prompted speculation that the pair — who dated off and on in 2020 and 2021 after she competed for his heart on season 24 of "The Bachelor" — are giving it yet another go. Peter and Kelley have regularly trashed each other in the press since they called it quits for good in early 2021.

On Aug. 7, The Sun broke the news that Rita Ora and Taika Waititi recently tied the knot in London. "It was a really intimate ceremony and super special for everyone there. Their nearest and dearest can see how madly in love they are. Despite living in the spotlight, Rita is determined to keep the relationship as private as possible and didn't want to make a big song and dance about the wedding. A big, showbiz-style bash is planned to celebrate, but don't expect to see it being flogged to the highest-bidding magazine," said a source. Back in June, there were rumors that the singer-actress and the Oscar winner — who were first publicly linked in April 2021 — had quietly gotten engaged.

On Aug. 6, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, Khloe Kardashian and the private equity investor to whom she was linked in June — the first man she's dated since her off-and-on romance with Tristan Thompson finally came to an end late last year — quietly "split a few weeks ago." Said the source, "[They] broke up. … Things just fizzled out between them." Added an E! News source, "Khloe is enjoying being single with her sole focus on being a mom and her work. [She] is open to finding love again if the right person comes into her life, but is really happy right now. She is not looking and in no rush." The reality star recently welcomed her second child — a baby boy — via surrogate. Said the E! source of Tristan, who conceived the child with Khloe before they split, "There is no chance of reconciliation. Khloe has fully moved on and has been very clear in that."

Teresa Giudice and her love of two years, Louie Ruelas, tied the knot at the Park Chateau Estate & Gardens in East Brunswick, New Jersey, on Aug. 6. "I will love you for a million tomorrows," the bride reportedly gushed in her vows. Her four daughters with first husband Joe Giudice — Gia, Gabriella, Milania and Audriana — as well as two of her "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" co-stars — Dolores Catania and Jennifer Aydin — served as bridesmaids. On Aug. 7, Rosario Dawson took to Instagram to share a video of herself making funny faces with Nnamdi Okafor as they rode together in the back of a golf cart at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, where she promoted her work in the "Star Wars" franchise. "I love you, baby," he says in the clip. "I love you too," she replies. The video — which Rosario's most recent ex-boyfriend, Democratic New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, liked — served as an official confirmation that the actress and the poet, who were first photographed together in April, are an item. A few days later, Rosario took to her Instagram Story to share a screenshot of a text message conversation with Nnamdi in which he asked her out to dinner. "I'd like to see you — let me know if it's possible or when you're available," he wrote after offering her a choice of two dinner reservations. She accepted but warned that she had a "super long day" and might be "tired" and unable to "stay out late." Replied the writer, "Absolutely that's fine — and please if tomorrow becomes more than you expected, don't hesitate to let me know. We can reschedule. But I look forward to it. On Aug. 4, "Broad City" alum Abbi Jacobson and her love of nearly two years, "For All Mankind" actress Jodi Balfour, made their red carpet debut as a couple at the premiere of the new Amazon Prime series "A League of Their Own," which is based on the 1992 film of the same name. (Abbi executive produces and stars on the series, which she also co-created and wrote.) The following day — after fans spotted the engagement rings the two women appeared to be wearing at the premiere — "Entertainment Tonight" confirmed with Abbi's rep that she and Jodi are engaged.

Blinked and you missed it! On Aug. 8, former "The Bachelorette" star Tyler Cameron told E! News' "Daily Pop" that he and model Paige Lorenze are no longer an item. "We had to take a step back. It wasn't the right time — it wasn't good for us. So we're back on just not dating anymore and just doing our own thing right now. We both have tons of respect and love for each other, but it's just not the right time for both of us right now," he said, adding that when it comes to relationships, he "can't figure it out." Said the reality star, "There's too much on my plate. … I would like to find somebody eventually — one day, one day!" Paige — who recently dumped Morgan Wallen after she allegedly caught him cheating and previously accused Armie Hammer of abusing her during their relationship — was first linked to Tyler in June. "There wasn't a dramatic split or any bad blood between us," she told Page Six of the breakup, adding that distance (she lives in New York while he's Florida-based) was a factor. She also wrote in a since-deleted comment on TikTok that she was surprised Tyler "was talking to media" but "not embarrassed" because she chose to "step away" from the relationship. "[It's] just weird," she wrote of his comments on their split.

Giving it another go? According to DailyMail.com, Jerry Hall filed a petition to dismiss her divorce from Rupert Murdoch in Los Angeles on Aug. 9. While it's possible that the age-mismatched couple (he's 91 and she's 66) have reconciled romantically, it's more likely that they've simply decided to settle their divorce outside California's court system, which would leave the media mogul's financials publicly exposed. The former supermodel filed for divorce in L.A. on July 1.

During an interview with Us Weekly that debuted online on Aug. 10, Olivia Flowers said that she and her rumored boyfriend, "Southern Charm" co-star Austen Kroll, "are in a good place" as season 8 airs on Bravo. "We had an incredible summer together and traveled and we're still good. We're just having fun. … We went to really cool places, and you always get to know someone on another level when you travel with them. And we got to kind of relax once the cameras left and the shows stopped. We just kind of really got to know each other and figure out if this was something we wanted and we're definitely in each other's lives," she said, adding that she "didn't really let other people's opinions" of Austen or their "preexisting drama" with him affect their relationship. "I had hung out with him a couple times and we always just had fun and pleasant times," she said. She also noted that they've "recovered from" the drama they faced on the show and successfully "moved forward." Austen and Olivia were first linked earlier this year.

Fashion designer Zac Posen and New York City Ballet principal dancer Harrison Ball took to Instagram on Aug. 8 to announce that they're engaged. "Engaged 8.8.22," Zac captioned a slideshow of photos with his new fiancé. Harrison, meanwhile, captioned a photo with Zac at the Twin Arrows Trading Post ruins in Arizona, "Getting hitched." It's unclear when exactly the two men — who went public with their romance on Instagram in the spring of 2021 — first started dating.

On Aug. 9, Lance Armstrong revealed on Instagram that he recently married his partner of 14 years, Anna Hansen, at the Château La Coste in Provence, France. "Best. Day. Ever. Married the love of my life @annahansenarmstrong. So special having our kids there as well. It was an evening full of laughter and plenty of joyful tears. In still more Bachelor Nation love news… On Aug. 1, Jacqueline Trumbull — who competed for Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s heart on season 22 of "The Bachelor" in 2018 — hinted on Instagram that she'd called off her destination wedding with Paul Seli: "Throwback to Sintra, Portugal, where things were supposed to go differently. My life would be very different now if Sintra had gone according to plan. I've often found greater happiness through thwarting plans and knowing when to step off the path," she captioned a slideshow of photos. In early August, the Office of the Bavarian Royal House announced that Prince Ludwig of Bavaria — the great-grandson of King Ludwig III, the last King of Bavaria — is engaged to Sophie-Alexandra Evekink, who's studying criminology at the University of Oxford. He reportedly popped the question earlier this summer in Berchtesgaden, a town in the Bavarian Alps. Ludwig's father, Prince Luitpold, told the German newspaper Bild of the engagement, "Ludwig made a good choice. My future daughter-in-law is a very intelligent and educated woman."
