Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced or shared some other major event in their love lives in late July 2022, starting with this news… On the heels of her painful breakup with girlfriend of nine months Victoria Brito in early July, former "The Real Housewives of Orange County" star Braunwyn Windham-Burke was spotted holding hands with ex Kris (whose last name has never been publicly revealed) — who was her first girlfriend after the Bravo star came out as a gay woman in 2020 — as they walked through downtown Los Angeles on July 27, Page Six reported. However, Page Six later reported that despite how it looked, Brunwyn and Kris are not back on. "Kris and Braunwyn are friends and nothing more!" an insider told the gossip column, insisting, "She was Braunwyn's first lesbian relationship, and they will always have a place in each other's hearts."

In late July, Instagram gossip account Deux Moi received a tip that there's a new man in Grammy-winning pop star and actress Olivia Rodrigo's life: Irish rock star Elijah Hewson, 22, who's the son of U2's Bono and wife Ali Hewson. The tipster claimed that the pair "met at the Emmy awards and got closer when they both played gigs back to back in Dublin." The Emmys reference is a head-scratcher, as the American TV awards show last took place in September 2021 in Los Angeles and neither had any professional reason to be there, though the back-to-back shows part is interesting: The band Eli fronts, Inhaler, performed in Dublin on June 25 while Olivia, 19, performed at the same venue five days later. Another tipster later contacted Deux Moi to claim the "drivers license" singer is seeing a guy who's "not from the U.S."

"The Hills" alum Audrina Patridge revealed some juicy tidbits about her romantic past with a handful of A-list stars in her new memoir, "Choices: To the Hills and Back Again," which was released on July 26. She recounted how years ago, when she was still starring on her hit MTV reality TV show, she happened to be partying at the same Las Vegas nightclub as Leonardo DiCaprio. "This bouncer kept coming over to me saying that Leo would like to get me a drink at his table. I looked over at his table, and he was just surrounded by supermodels. It was intimidating!" she said, as reported by People magazine. "I told the bouncer I would just finish my drink and then say hello. But I never went, even when the bouncer came back over a couple more times." Eventually, Leo came over to her — she was sitting next to then-couple Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green — and they "chatted for a while" after the actor introduced himself. "He asked for my phone number, and we texted a little after the trip to Vegas, but we never actually hung out," she explained. "Leo was very private, and with the constant filming for 'The Hills' and the paparazzi attention, it just felt too tough to make anything work." But Leo wasn't the only Hollywood actor who was interested in Audrina…

In her new book "Choices: To the Hills and Back Again," which was released on July 26, "The Hills" alum Audrina Patridge confirmed that she dated "Star Trek" heartthrob Chris Pine for a time. They met at a 2009 awards show. "A few of my ['Sorority Row'] castmates and I were in Las Vegas for the ShoWest Awards where we won the female stars of tomorrow award and, as usual, having a blast. We were seated at our tables when Rumer [Willis] kicked me and motioned to something behind me," Audrina said, as reported by People magazine. "Before I knew it, Chris Pine was coming up to our table to say hello, and that he'd seen me onstage and thought that I was really beautiful. He asked if he could take me out sometime," she recalled, adding that she didn't really know who he was "but I did know he was hot. We exchanged numbers, and after he walked away, all of my castmates were so excited." They went to an Italian restaurant on their first date before going to his place, but after a few months, she realized it wasn't going to work. "He didn't like going out and being followed by the paparazzi — he was an introvert, and very focused on his acting. I loved to go out, and of course was usually filming 'The Hills,' so our lifestyles were complete opposites in that sense. Still, we tried." Chris "seemed like he was annoyed," she said, after a photo of them that was snapped by a fan at a German restaurant hit the media. "Shortly thereafter I was photographed leaving his house. It started to freak him out." She knew he'd never want to be on her MTV show and "my life was the TV show, and there weren't enough hours in the day to do my job and find time to see him privately," she said. "He was a big up-and-coming actor with demands on his time, and it didn't seem like our lives were lining up, even though we really liked each other." Looking back, she has "nothing but fond memories of Chris," she said. "He was truly one of the most normal people I've ever met in LA — and I mean that as the highest compliment."

Audrina Patridge's new book, "Choices: To the Hills and Back Again" — which was released on July 26 — also details a fling she had with "The Boys" and original "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford. "I ran into him in Malibu at a friend's house, and what can I say, sparks were flying," she said, as reported by DailyMail.com. "We ended up staying there with our friend at this gorgeous mansion right on the beach for a long weekend, and we were just inseparable. I genuinely liked him after these incredible few days together, and I had the feeling it was mutual." But at the time, Audrina was also on and off with dirt bike rider Corey Bohan — whom she married and welcomed a daughter with in 2016; they split in 2017 amid allegations of abuse. After her wonderful weekend with Chace, she returned home where Corey was waiting for her. "A big part of me wishes I'd told Corey to kick rocks and just gone out with Chace. He's such a gentleman and so normal and kind. It would have been fun, if only I hadn't let Corey back in and screwed up our chance," she said.

According to the reality TV news site, his name is Bobby Scott, he's in his early 40s and he lives in Michigan. Briana hinted that she was with someone new when, in mid-July, she posted a video of the back her new man's head, captioning it "my baby," The Sun reported, and at the end of the month, she posted a pic of him with her in a car, The Sun further reported. A production insider told The Ashley, "Bobby used to do security on Catelynn [Lowell] and Maci [Bookout]'s shoots but he met Briana when she came to San Diego to film 'Teen Mom Family Reunion' last year. That's when they first got together but no one else knew about it back then." Things "heated up," the site wrote, when production moved to a Florida dude ranch in June to film for "Teen Mom: The Next Chapter," which is where another security guard allegedly caught them and told MTV executives. "Finally Briana went to [executive producer] Larry [Musnik] and confessed that she and Bobby are in a relationship, and that it was consensual and all that," a second insider told The Ashley, adding that after that, the entire security staff was axed, which has left many producers, crew and even some cast members upset, The Ashley reported.

On July 25, The Wall Street Journal reported that Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk had a "brief affair" with Nicole Shanahan — the second wife of his close friend and Google co-founder Sergey Brin — in late 2021 when the couple was separated, which prompted Sergey to file for divorce in January and take a break from his friendship with Elon. Elon denied the report on Twitter the same day, writing, "This is total b*. Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night! I've only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic." Elon later added, "Haven't even had sex in ages (sigh)." The newspaper, however, didn't back down from its claim: A spokesperson told DailyMail.com, "We are confident in our sourcing, and we stand by our reporting." Nicole also later denied the allegation, with her attorney Bryan Freedman telling DailyMail.com, "Make no mistake, any suggestion that Nicole had an affair with Elon Musk is not only an outright lie but also defamatory."

Wrestler-turned-reality TV star Nikki Bella had what was ultimately an amicable split from wrestler-actor John Cena in 2018 — and she now says she almost wishes it wasn't. Breaking up, ending their engagement and canceling their wedding plans was "hard," the "Total Bellas" alum told "Entertainment Tonight" in a July 20 interview promoting the new show "Biography: WWE Legends," which aired on A&E on July 24. "You almost wish it was bad, because it's so much easier to walk away," she explained. "I think a lot of women get into this situation when it's like, 'I love this person, but I don't know if it's right for my life.' Sometimes we meet amazing people, but we're just meant to live a different life." Now Nikki is engaged to "Dancing With the Stars" pro Artem Chigvintsev, with whom she has a son, and John is married to Shay Shariatzadeh.

In the wake of divorce rumors, Dean McDermott made a surprise appearance on Tori Spelling's new VIZIO series "@Home With Tori" on the July 21 episode — and he flirted with the "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum. In a scene in which Dean joins Tori and their five kids in the backyard for a screening of Tori's 1989 comedy "Troop Beverly Hills," Page Six reported. "Wait! Do you see me, you guys? That's me!" Tori hollers, pointing out her 14-year-old self. Cue the unexpectedly flirty, if underwhelming, comment from Dean: "You're so cute, babe." In June, Us Weekly reported that the spouses — who married in 2006 — were in the midst of a "trial separation" following reports that their marriage had been on the rocks.
