Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in September 2019, starting with Zooey Deschanel's romance roller coaster… On Sept. 6, the former "New Girl" star and film producer Jacob Pechenik released a statement announcing that they're calling it quits after four years of marriage and two kids together. Exactly a week later, HollywoodLife published photos of the actress and "Property Brothers" star Jonathan Scott holding hands, revealing that they're now an item. The duo met in early August while shooting an upcoming episode of "Carpool Karaoke" with their siblings: her sister, actress Emily Deschanel, and his twin brother, Drew Scott. Jon Hamm sparked rumors that he's dating Ben Affleck's ex-girlfriend, "Saturday Night Live" producer Lindsay Shookus, when the pair were seen sitting together at a performance of "Derren Brown: Secret" on Broadway on Sept. 15. Although witnesses said there was "some flirtatious banter" between the duo and that their outing "very much felt like they were on a date," they're reportedly just longtime friends. When Lindsay and Ben went public with their romance in mid-2017, there were reports that she'd previously dated the "Mad Men" star.
Rachel Bilson was also linked to a Bachelor Nation personality (Nick Viall) this month. Since they met in July when she appeared on his "The Viall Files" podcast, the actress and the former star of "The Bachelor" have exchanged several flirty messages on social media. During a Sept. 17 chat with Us Weekly, Nick played coy when asked about his flirtatious behavior with Rachel, saying he thought he was just "complimenting her Instagrams." He did, however, admit that it's possible he's "just dense."
The Sun reported on Sept. 7 that Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton — who are currently co-starring in the Broadway production of Harold Pinter's "Betrayal" — have been secretly seeing each other for more than six months. One source, however, told the British tabloid that the duo are just "close friends."
Frankie Grande created confusion in early September when he seemingly confirmed that sister Ariana Grande was dating Mikey Foster, to whom she was first linked in August. After singing Mikey's praises, Frankie said that he and his boyfriend recently double-dated with the pair. But on Sept. 5, Frankie backtracked, saying that Ariana is single and that she and Mikey are just friends.
Page Six reported on Sept. 3 that Jonah Hill and his girlfriend of about a year, Gianna Santos, are engaged. A rep for the actor confirmed the happy news.
On Sept. 5, Jen Harley took to her Instagram Story to publicly accuse off-and-on love Ronnie Ortiz-Magro of cheating on her, which he's denied. In the wake of the social media meltdown, multiple media outlets reported that they'd called it quits (again).

Demi Burnett also proposed to her girlfriend, Kristian Haggerty, while Katie Morton accepted a marriage proposal from Chris Bukowski. Meanwhile, Tayshia Adams and John Paul Jones revealed that they're now dating after breaking up on the Sept. 10 episode of "Bachelor in Paradise." Nicole Lopez-Alvar — who dumped Clay Harbor on the Sept. 17 episode of "Bachelor in Paradise" after he said he was starting to fall in love with her but asked if they could continue dating rather than get engaged — revealed that she's seeing someone new already. She then took to social media to bash the former professional football player for leading her on, questioning why he would appear "on a timed, accelerated, reality dating show — twice — where all finalists get engaged or go home" if he wasn't ready for a major commitment. And finally, after sparking romance rumors with their flirtatious behavior on social media, Kirpa Sudick and Cam Ayala denied that they're a couple.
Jenny Slate took to Instagram on Sept. 9 to announce that she and artist Ben Shattuck — to whom she was first publicly linked in January — are engaged.
Lana Del Rey is dating Sgt. Sean "Sticks" Larkin, a real police officer who stars on A&E's "LivePD," according to "Entertainment Tonight," which published photos of the duo together in New York City's Central Park on Sept. 23.
"This Is Us" star Susan Kelechi Watson took to Instagram on Sept. 7 to announce that she and actor Jaime Lincoln Smith are engaged.
"Supergirl" co-stars Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood, who got engaged in February, tied the knot at a private estate in Ojai, California, on Sept. 1.
Holly Marie Combs and restaurateur Mike Ryan tied the knot in a redwood grove at the Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel, California, on Sept. 7. Guests included the bride's former "Charmed" co-stars Brian Krause and Drew Fuller.
