Angelina Jolie exits UN refugee agency after 20 years
After two decades working with the United Nations' refugee agency, Angelina Jolie has announced she's "moving on" from her special envoy role. In a statement shared with HuffPo on Friday (Dec. 16), the star said she plans to "engage on a broader set of humanitarian and human rights issues" going forward. "I will continue to do everything in my power in the years to come to support refugees and other displaced people," she said in the statement, a joint release from Angelina and the U.N. Looking ahead, she said she feels now is the time for a new and more direct approach to her humanitarian work. Angelina, 47, was appointed special envoy in 2012 after beginning her work with the refugee agency in 2001. As HuffPo points out, Angelina's November 2022 op-ed for The Guardian questioned the world's seeming inability to end sexual violence in conflict regions and criticized U.N. Security Council members for "abusing their veto power."

Brad Pitt, Ines de Ramon fuel dating rumors at 'Babylon' premiere party
The buzz around Brad Pitt's relationship with Ines de Ramon grew louder this week after the two were spotted together at a Los Angeles afterparty for the premiere of Brad's new film, "Babylon" on Thursday (Dec. 15). Brad, 58, and Ines, who reportedly works in the jewelry industry and turns 30 on Monday, spent time "mingling with guests, occasionally with their arms around each other" at the bash," according to People. Brad and Ines were first photographed together last month while hanging out backstage at a Bono show at the Orpheum in Los Angeles. Sources tell People they met through "a mutual friend" and have been dating for a few months, though not exclusively, in the wake of Ines' separation from her husband, actor Paul Wesley. "Ines is cute, fun and energetic," said one insider, praising Ines' "great personality." "Babylon," Brad's new '20s-era comedy-drama, also stars Margot Robbie, Tobey Maguire, Olivia Wilde, Jean Smart and Jeff Garlin. It hits theaters Dec. 23.

Late-night's ready for a revamp, Chelsea Handler says
Chelsea Handler says she has her "appetite" back for late-night — and Trevor Noah's now-vacant "Daily Show" post looks pretty appealing. The "Chelsea Lately" alum covered for Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show" last summer and in February, she'll guest host on "The Daily Show." But she also sees late-night needing to evolve in a way it hasn't, the comic recently told Variety. "I need to get back in because where are the women?" asked Chelsea, 47. "Every head of every network should be ashamed that they haven't given a female a talk show. The fact that Samantha Bee is no longer on the air is unacceptable to me." Well aware of the host openings on "The Daily Show" and "The Late Late Show" (James Corden ends his tenure in the first half of 2023), Chelsea expressed interest in throwing her hat in the ring. "I don't know if they've reached out to us, but I've had conversations with my team about both of those situations," she told the outlet, admitting James' titular "late, late" slot "doesn't really interest" her. "I definitely would be open to talking about the Trevor Noah slot," she continued. "I don't know what their plans for it are, or if they've already chosen somebody who's on the show." From Chelsea's perspective, things don't look great for late-night right now. In fact, they look "old and white and boring," she told Variety. "Talk shows are a dying art, and there has to be a new iteration of them. They're not fresh. They're stale," she explained. "I don't know what the answer is. But I'm definitely willing to be part of the solution."
Nick Cannon talks 'guilt' about making time for all 11 kids
As a father of 11 young children (with one more on the way), Nick Cannon's finding it a wee bit tough to manage his time. He opened up about the guilt he feels as a result of all the juggling on a recent episode of "The Checkup with Dr. Agus. "Being a father of multiple kids, it's always the biggest guilt on me is that I don't get to spend enough time with all my children," he admitted on the Paramount+ show in December (per Page Six). "One, 'cause I'm constantly working and two because I'm just spread thin," said the "Masked Singer" host. That he fathered the children with six different women can't make balancing his time commitments any easier, either. Nick's eldest are 11-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, the star's daughter and son with Mariah Carey. He also shares sons Golden and Rise and daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell. Nick's other set of twins, Zion, Zillion along with daughter Beautiful, call Abby De La Rosa mom. Nick's also dad to son Legendary Love (with Brie Tiesi) and daughter Onyx Ice (with LaNisha Cole). Finally — for now, anyway — Nick and Alyssa Scott are expecting their second child together, having lost their infant son Zen to brain cancer.
Jen Shah skips 'RHSLC' reunion, slams Bravo ahead of sentencing
With her federal fraud case sentencing coming up next month, Jen Shah opted to focus on her family — and her lawyer's advice — and skip the "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" reunion show, she confirmed to TMZ this week. The show was slated to tape Friday (Dec. 16) in New York City, and according to Jen, she was only invited to participate two weeks ago after initially being left off the guest list. She declined. "I was clear with Bravo that out of respect for the courts and a standing judicial order, I would not be in a position to discuss anything related to my legal case or sentencing," Jen told TMZ in a statement published Friday. "Bravo found this unsatisfactory and said they expected discuss this 'storyline,'" she continued. "That expectation has no regard for me or my family's well-being; so under legal advice, I will not be attending reunion. I need to focus on the most important thing in my life – my family." Skipping the reunion will also allow the reality star to dodge potential questions about the collection of more than 30 counterfeit designer bags and at least 40 pieces of fake designer jewelry federal agents discovered when they raided her home, according to the outlet. Jen, whose Instagram posts indicate she's in Utah with family, faces up to 14 years behind bars after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
Beloved late DJ Stephen 'tWitch' Boss reportedly left a note
Stephen "tWitch" Boss reportedly left a note when he died by suicide at 40 earlier this week, leaving his large network of friends, colleagues, fans and loved ones in shock. That's according to a new report from TMZ, which cites law enforcement sources as having confirmed the note "[alludes] to challenges he's faced in the past." The long-running "Ellen" DJ and "So You Think You Can Dance" judge and contestant was found dead in a motel room near his home on Tuesday (Dec. 14). According to a People source, Stephen and his wife, Allison Holker, had "multiple shows, brand deals and projects in pre-production for the upcoming year," and he was both "excited" about and very "involved" with "all of the projects," making his death even more puzzling. "We had no indication that anything was out of the ordinary," tWitch's grandfather Eddy Boss told the Daily Mail this week. "[We are] completely devastated," Eddy said of his family. "Our question is why? Where did it come from?"
British royal aide apologizes to charity exec after racist incident
Prince William's godmother, Lady Susan Hussey, met with British charity exec Ngozi Fulani, at Buckingham Palace to apologize in-person for her recent racist behavior at an event, the palace announced on Friday (Dec. 16). A longtime Lady-in-Waiting to Queen Elizabeth II, Lady Susan reportedly touched Ngozi's hair without her consent, then proceeded to ask the chief executive of London's Sistah Space where she was "really" from, despite Ngozi repeating that she is British and was "born here." Susan later resigned from her honorary position in the royal household. According to a joint statement from the palace and the Sistah Space exec, their meeting was "filled with warmth and understanding" and Lady Susan not only apologized but also vowed to get more informed about the "sensitivities involved" in such exchanges, according to BBC News. Ngozi reportedly accepted the apology. The statement also promised the Royal Households remain committed to "inclusion and diversity" and will work to improve their "training programmes." In the end, the statement said the meeting showed "resolution can be found with kindness, co-operation and the condemnation of discrimination wherever it takes root." Royal expert Omid Scobie tweeted on Friday that King Charles III is "grateful for the resolution," which comes on the heels of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's bombshell Netflix docu-series claims.
