Selena Gomez reveals what got her through 'public heartbreaks' and more
At 29, Selena Gomez has done what seems like a lifetime's worth of self-work. Maybe that's why the time feels right for the singer, actress and philanthropist to return to the spotlight after taking time away to deal with physical and mental health issues — and figure out how to survive the less appealing sides of fame, from having her love life watched under a microscope to feeling objectified as a young Disney star. "I find happiness when I'm with people I love," Selena says in Elle's September 2021 cover story. "My lupus, my kidney transplant, chemotherapy, having a mental illness, going through very public heartbreaks — these were all things that honestly should have taken me down. Every time I went through something, I was like, 'What else? What else am I going to have to deal with?'" She got through the stress of it all by telling herself, "You're going to help people," she recalls. "That's really what kept me going." She says that mantra kept her "strong" and so she could protect instead of hurt herself. Selena also got off social media by giving her team her passwords and having them handle the posts "so there's no temptation," she tells Elle, adding that it forced her to "learn to be with myself" instead of focusing on other people's lives. Fast-forward to the coronavirus pandemic and when she hasn't been starring in and executive producing Hulu's "Only Murders in the Building" alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short, Selena focused on her cooking show, "Selena + Chef," which has already raised $360,000 for 23 nonprofit organizations, according to Elle. Her Rare Beauty line, meanwhile, is working toward the goal of raising $1 million to support wider access to mental health services via her Rare Impact Fund. "Everything that I'm attached to has a charity aspect," Selena says. "If something good isn't coming out of it, I'm not going to do it. I don't need money. I need people who want to fight with me."

Demi Lovato says they could 'identify as trans' at some point
Demi Lovato, who came out as non-binary earlier this year and now uses they/them pronouns, isn't closing the door to the possibility she could change course with regard to her gender and sexuality identities. "I definitely think it's a journey forever," they said during an appearance at the 19th Represents Summit, an exploration of "why #RepresentationMatters in democracy, sports, business, culture and voting." "There might be a time where I identify as trans," Demi continued (via JustJared). "I don't know what this looks like for me. There might be a time where I identify as non-binary and gender nonconforming my entire life. Or maybe there's a period of time when I get older that I identify as a woman, I don't know what that looks like, but for me, in this moment right now, this is how I identify. And I have a feeling that it's not going to ever go back to one way or the other, but I just, it's about keeping it open and free and just I'm a very fluid person, and so that goes with how I express myself as well."

Earlier this month, Channing Tatum wrote on Instagram that he was ready to take a break from work and make "time for all the things." Apparently, one of those things is spending time with Zoe Kravitz. According to Page Six, the two enjoyed a stroll through New York City's East Village together on Aug. 18 before they both hopped on a black BMX bike and took a spin together. Photos published by the New York Post's gossip column show Channing steering as Zoe stood on the pegs with her arms around the "Magic Mike" star. Later that night, an anonymous Deux Moi source allegedly spied them "dancing, kissing and being soooo in love" at a cocktail bar in Brooklyn. Channing, 41, and Zoe, 32, were the subject of romance chatter back in January as well, but a source told E! News at the time that Zoe was "still single" following her split from husband Karl Glusman. Channing, who broke up with singer Jessie J last year, reportedly met Zoe after she cast him in her forthcoming directorial debut.

Mila Kunis heckles Ashton Kutcher as he films wine promo
Looks like Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have some competition in the spouse-trolling game. That's thanks to Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, whose collaborative attempt to plug their new charity wine brand turned into a laugh-fest for Mila as she heckled her husband while filming him for an Instagram video. In a clip Ashton shared on Aug. 18, the actor stands before a backdrop of trees and tall grasses while holding a glass of cabernet in one hand and a bottle of Outside Wine in the other. "Bonjour! Comment allez-vous … It eez I, Ashton Kutcher, at Chateau Fancy as F***," he says in a goofy, faux French accent. "We are here today to tell you about zee new, amazing Outside Wine. It eez a ca …," he continues before cracking up. "OK," Ashton says, focusing instead on how he and Mila were inspired to raise money for a good cause by Paul Newman's Newman's Own brand. "What a transition, babe," Mila says sarcastically while seemingly holding the camera. "Are you hazing me off screen?" Ashton asks before going back to Plan A with his fake French silliness. Mila tells him to knock it off and resume the Paul Newman stuff, to which Ashton asks, "Are you the f****** cameraman or the director?" He manages to get back on track, kinda, but Mila interrupts him again, laughing. "You're the worst cameraman/director ever. For all time. I still love you but — sorry, camerawoman," he tells her as she laughs louder. The camera then pans to a dog near Ashton. "You're just, like, tracking the dog! Am I that boring?!" he blurts out. Trolling aside, Outside Wine was launched as a follow-up to the couple's successful Quarantine Wine, which raised more than $1 million for charity, according to People. The first recipients of proceeds from Outside Wine are Tony Hawk's The Skate Park Project and Thorn.org, an organization Ashton founded with his ex, Demi Moore, to defend children from sexual abuse via technology. A new charity will take over as the new recipient of wine proceeds every three months.

When it comes to spending time with her ex-husband, Orlando Bloom, Miranda Kerr loves having her pal, Katy Perry — who's now engaged to Orlando — in the mix. Miranda shares 10-year-old son Flynn with Orlando and as she explained on the "Moments with Candace Parker" podcast this week, she and Katy have become close friends over the years. "We go on holidays together. We celebrate all the important milestones together," Miranda said (via E! News). "I love her. I mean, it'd be safe to say I love her more than Flynn's dad," she joked. "To me right now, he's like a brother. And most of the time, an annoying brother. So she helps me deal with him because she can deal with him, and I'm so grateful that she's there. Because it just takes the pressure off me." Miranda's now married to Evan Spiegel and the couple have two sons, while Katy and Orlando share 1-year-old daughter Daisy. "We've been on holidays with Katy and Daisy, and she's just so cute," Miranda gushed. "She's so little as well, still. And Flynn's so sweet with her." Miranda and Orlando split back in 2013 after three years of marriage. The actor started dating Katy in 2016.
'Jeopardy!' host Mike Richards apologizes for offensive remarks made on resurfaced podcast
New "Jeopardy!" host Mike Richards issued an apology this week for offensive remarks he made about multiple groups of people in 2013 and 2014 on a podcast he hosted at the time. According to a new report from The Ringer, Mike recorded his series, "The Randumb Show," as a behind-the-scenes dish on "The Price Is Right." He was a co-executive producer at the time and went on to executive produce "Jeopardy!" before taking over for Alex Trebek. The unprintable comments he made on the podcast included slurs about little people and people with intellectual disabilities. He also spoke in derogatory terms about Jews, women and people who receive government assistance, The Ringer reported. "It is humbling to confront a terribly embarrassing moment of misjudgment, thoughtlessness, and insensitivity from nearly a decade ago," Mike told the outlet in a statement. "Looking back now, there is no excuse, of course, for the comments I made on this podcast and I am deeply sorry. The podcast was intended to be a series of irreverent conversations between longtime friends who had a history of joking around. Even with the passage of time, it's more than clear that my attempts to be funny and provocative were not acceptable, and I have removed the episodes. My responsibilities today as a father, husband, and a public personality who speaks to many people through my role on television means I have substantial and serious obligations as a role model, and I intend to live up to them." The report comes on the heels of resurfaced workplace discrimination lawsuits Mike was named in during his time at "The Price Is Right." He's now set to host the nightly version of "Jeopardy!," while Mayim Bialik handles hosting on the show's prime-time specials.
Ant Anstead breaks his silence on Renee Zellweger romance
Nearly two months after Ant Anstead and Renée Zellweger quietly confirmed their romance on Instagram, Ant broke his silence on their relationship this week during a chat with E! News. The pair met on the set of Ant's new car renovation show, "Celebrity IOU: Joyride." Renée served as a celebrity guest — and she apparently wowed Ant with her welding skills while working on cars she'd later gift to the brothers who cared for her friend, publicist Nanci Ryder, prior to her death last summer. "Everybody knows that Renée and I have become quite close because we kept it secret for a while and now, unfortunately, some pictures were taken and put out there," Ant told E! on Aug. 18. "But it was a real pleasure to work with her. She's a super pro and she can weld." The British car show host, 42, finalized his divorce from Christina Haack in June. Renée, 52, reportedly split from musician Doyle Bramhall in 2019. "Celebrity IOU: Joyride" hits Discovery+ on Aug. 23.
'Batman' alum Michael Keaton says he 'hasn't seen an entire [comic book] movie' since 1989
As the Caped Crusader in Tim Burton's 1989 film, "Batman," Michael Keaton's super low-key demeanor was part of his charm. It sounds like he came by that vibe naturally, too. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Michael, who reprises his Batman role in the upcoming "Flash," admits he's never been into comic books and never got into superhero movies even after he starred in one of the now-classics. "After the first 'Batman,' I'm not sure I've ever seen an entire [comic book] movie," he says. "I just never got around to it. So you're talking to a guy who wasn't in the zeitgeist of that whole world." Michael credits "everything" that's happening now in superhero movies to his "Batman" director, and he says it was clear when he shot Marvel's "Spiderman: Homecoming" that the industry has serious legs. "They'll be doing Marvel movies forever," he quips. "I'll be dead, and they'll still be doing Marvel movies."
