Despite Elon Musk's hope to back out of his $44 billion agreement to buy Twitter, company executives voted in favor of the Tesla's owner's deal on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022. Back in late April, the billionaire announced the purchase and promised to make Twitter a legitimate free speech square under his leadership. However, a little more than a month later, Space X's top guy had second thoughts and tried to terminate the deal. Twitter executives, though, said they would hold his feet to the fire and even sued Elon to complete the acquisition. A trial is set for mid-October. After the initial deal was announced, many celebrities publicly took a stance.
