Huge conservatorship news
On Sept. 7, Britney Spears' father filed documents asking a court to end his daughter's conservatorship — something the pop star and her new legal team have been pushing for. However, TMZ reported that it's not what it seems. The webloid claimed that Jamie Spears thinks the pop star's mental health is deteriorating, but he still asked the court to end his control over her estate without doing a mental evaluation, believing that the court will insist on one. He's also confident that the court will not let her out of the conservatorship after a mental health evaluation, according to TMZ's sources. Jamie thinks this might give him the best of both worlds: He stays in charge of the conservatorship but can claim that he tried to end it. By being able to play the good cop role, Jamie thinks it will help mend his nonexistent relationship with Britney, who's said to be thrilled with the court filing. But that's not the only big news surrounding her conservatorship…

More big conservatorship news
On Sept. 10, TMZ reported that even though Britney Spears wants to end her conservatorship, she wants the woman who's been the conservator over her person for the last few years — Jodi Montgomery — to remain on the payroll. Sources told the webloid that Britney has asked Jodi to stay around to help her even if the conservatorship that's ruled her life for the last 13 years is dissolved. Britney wants her to keep, as TMZ writes, "performing various tasks including dealing with her doctors, making various appointments, making sure she takes the right regimen of meds, arranging meals and chefs, handling the house staff, organizing recreational outings, etc."
Parents-to-be
Olivia Munn is pregnant. On Sept. 7, her boyfriend, comedian John Mulaney, broke the news during an appearance on Seth Meyers' late night show. "We're having a baby together," John told Seth. "I was nervous when I was about to say the news. … I'm gonna be a dad!" John said he fell for Olivia in the spring, which has sparked speculation about their romance timeline, as he didn't announce that his marriage to makeup artist Anna Marie Tendler was ending until May, though has said they split in the fall of 2020. During his chat with Seth, John spoke of his substance abuse struggles and multiple rehab stints over the last year and detailed how the late night host and other friends helped stage an intervention. "I love you, Seth. You know, you guys saved me from drugs. And Olivia and this baby have helped save me from myself, and this early journey out of recovery," he said.
Splitsville
Nearly a year after they began dating, Scott Disick and Amelia Gray Hamlin are over. The split comes less than a week after Scott sent fellow Kourtney Kardashian ex Younes Bendjima a snarky message about her new romance with Travis Barker — and Younes posted it publicly, making Scott look jealous. The drama over the message called his romance with Amelia into question, and many of her Instagram followers bombarded her social media urging her to end things with Scott. There are differing accounts of who ended things. Still, it doesn't sound like this was a surprise. "The breakup was coming, but the Younes DM was the final straw," a source told TMZ. The romance was often frowned up due to their nearly 19-year age gap.

R.I.P.
Acclaimed actor Michael K. Williams was found dead in his New York City home on Sept. 6, and reports reveal authorities suspect he died from an accidental drug overdose. He was 54. TMZ reported that a relative did a welfare check on Michael at his Brooklyn home after not hearing from him for several days. Drug paraphernalia was allegedly found on a table inside. Police have reportedly launched a criminal investigation and are trying to determine who supplied the Emmy-nominated actor with drugs.
Steamy red carpet moment
Jessica Chastain has opened up about that viral red carpet moment with her "Scenes From a Marriage" co-star Oscar Isaac. The duo sent Twitter into a tailspin during the early part of the week after their steamy chemistry was showcased at the Venice International Film Festival. Video that was slowed down shows Oscar's hand grazing Jessica arm before he kisses the inside of her bicep. "Let me just say, though, this is a slow-motion video, and everybody is super sexy in slow motion," she joked while speaking to "Today." "I think it was really funny because when you look at it in regular speed, I'm looking straight ahead and he looks over at me. He just kind of goes to give me a peck on my elbow, and at the same time, I'm going to give him a hug. So all of a sudden, his face ends up in my armpit." She also felt that the video got such a huge response because something else was at play. "We have all been locked in our houses for so long. When this video went viral, I was like, people just need to see people touch and hold each other," she said.
Baby No. 2
Kylie Jenner has officially confirmed what the world has already known for the last month: She's pregnant with her second child. The reality TV star confirmed the news herself on Instagram on Sept. 7 in a video that shows her reading a pregnancy test and visiting her doctor with back-on boyfriend Travis Scott. The video is highly produced and appears to have been filmed over several months. The reality TV star and makeup mogul captioned the video with a heart emoji but didn't reveal anything else. Fans, though, have a theory that she's due in January, as they seem to think she told her mother, Kris Jenner, on Mother's Day. The belief is she was about six weeks pregnant at the time. They've also speculated that Kylie is having a boy since she recently posted a series of photos of her daughter, Stormi, that she captioned, "Favorite girl" with a blue heart emoji. The working theory is that the blue heart is meant for a boy, which would still make Stormi her "favorite girl."
